History repeats itself and the US still doesn't want to learn, let's see which will be their next Saigon/Kabul....

“Ally” is a strong word considering most of the Afghani people were never on board with the dream of freedom. None of those who were, were willing to defend it with their lives. All cowards who weren’t deserving of any chance.
The American people stayed in a a country, they had no obligation to protect or build, for over 20 years. Attempting to teach them how to defend a dream none of them believed in. The US aren’t untrustworthy allies they just no when the game is lost.

And as of 2020, Vietnam is prospering, has good relations with most countries (except China), and doesn't punish its citizens like China or North Korea. Crazy for Americans to believe, but Vietnam is open to most foreigners to visit (even Americans) and their version of communism works for them. Who would have thought that letting the Vietnamese choose what's best for Vietnam is a bad idea? I wonder if this could work for Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and other places where the USA wants to bring "freedom"?
