Considering Icahn has been destroying Publicly traded companies for his personal profit for decades, it couldn't happen to a better person. He has been destroying companies and careers for almost a half century. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if he is left bankrupt and it destroys his health.
The corporate raiders(Icahn) who use Leverage buyouts(LBO's), loading debt onto firms, selling off parts, sending them into bankruptcy in most cases. Here’s my question: how is a short seller allowed to publicly release a report that can be a self fulfilling prophecy? Even if Icahn is completely above board, doing this could cause the crash, instead of fundamentals causing the crash. Especially with a majority shareholder that has secured collateral loans using the stock.

It does seem 99% of billionaires are in some way "unethical" at the very least.
In business the terms of transactions are usually determined by the least ethical person participating: if you have 2 companies that make the same thing and company A goes over seas while company B believes that the people will buy domestic for more money. In short order only company A exists and anyone else looking to be in that field, must go overseas. So it's not possible to do a substantial amount of business without competing and winning over more or equally unethical people as yourself.
A cash dividend is a cash dividend. Just because Icahn takes his payment in stock doesn’t mean the cash doesn’t exist on paper.
Edit: well I guess if you control the company completely and are willing to be fraudulent you can. You take the dividend in shares and then sell those shares for profit. If that’s the case…..yikes
In short , he's finally been caught doing shady shit that he's been doing all along and he's not as smart as he wants you to believe he is .
what goes around comes around
Many private equity funds aimed for 85% debt and 15% equity (ratios varied over the years). One might ask if Ichan just was running a similar program via a 15% public (perpetual) equity program. But Ichan is not a bank lender but rather has an odd intermediary position which I am not following.
This one is interesting and merits a part 2 IMHO.
I'm taking Icahn's side. Makes me wonder how much money Hindenburg has at stake.
He doesn't sound like a great investor.
Karma is a B!!!! Thank you Hindenburg!!
I'm a buyer at $15.60 avg X 900 shares. If it hits $15 again I'll pick up another 100 shares. It's either going to $40 by 4/30/25 or be taken private $15-$18 by then. Hoping for the $40.

So he trades O.P.M., His own money, has a public traded company listed on the stock market which he owns 85% of the stock.
Wow......when is enough enough?
The answer to most such questions is... LUCK and GREED !
Hindenburg is a saint. At least THEY take some effort and walk a mile to get behind the scams. Yes, they get money out of it, but so try others without lifting a hand!
I would like “Millennial” to do a whopping story on how bad/good Icahn did to America itself! Honestly, making “money” work better is good, right? Killing good stuff like jobs is bad. So how did we, er, “the people” make out over the last 50 years … including the Middle people, and the Little people.
I’m just gonna binge watch this entire channel, I can’t help it. I love all of these stories, so interesting and scandalous
Interestingly, I owned shares of this stock a while ago due to the dividend, but then got out because it didn’t make any sense and I thought something f*cky was going on.
Turns out, I should’ve done more research and shorted the stock 🤷♂️
The HINDENBURG report... really you can’t make this stuff up... crash and burn baby crash and burn! It almost seems like Icahn has had his card marked.
Well we in India all saw what hindenberg is. A hit-n-run mercenary. They should be behind bars and here you are making video based on their mercenary operations. Well done
"if you want a friend at wall street get a dog " - carl ichan
"You better use one of your dog friends" -bill ackman 🤣
What goes around. Finally comes around. When this scandal is over. If he does not get jail and pays some billion dollar fines. There will be plenty of bankers to back his next target.
Man, what is up wit these names mab. Forst, it was Bernie Made-off with lots of money. Now, Carl I-con for living. 😅😅😅
Another high flying New Yorker currently running for President may have a valuation problem with his office towers and rents they bring in. I
Maybe they should have followed Warren Buffet & Charlie Munger? There basic rule of life is be honest, moral, ethical.
Shenanigans aside, a short seller writes a negative article and gets what they want in the form of a price decline. Icahn might be dirty, but the short seller manipulated the price of the stock for their own benefit.
He is not a Crown loyalist Episcopalian, therefore susceptible to Pilgrims Society members looting him.
