Thirteen years old in 1973. I listen to this almost every day and night for a year straight. Needless to say I kinda liked this. I knew it was a classic. Still one of my favorites. Man they're all my favorites These guys are so cool of story tellers.

A very short album of 27 minutes, but what a bloody brilliant album. Each one total classic

This, what the first guy here explains, is what the best music is all about to me. The connection of a band or the flow of one or more persons minds. It's a state of meditation. Electronic music is great and all, but comparing it to real performing music is just not possible whatsoever IMO

I saw the studio log from Nashville Skylines. Bob Johnston had them.
All the recordings were done in one or two takes. Most of them were done in the first take.
I said to Bob "Dylan was so good anybody could have recorded him."
    This was Bob Johnston's answer.
"I did it and I didn't fuck it up"
I said to Bob "that's the perfect answer" Bob Johnston's whole point of view when it came to recording was to let the artist be himself and capture the signal.
I was there when he recorded Roy Buchanan in 1974 at Sky Blue Studios in Sonoma California.
Buchanan was recording at the record plant in Sausalito in June of 74. They came up to Sonoma to a smaller studio that afforded a little more privacy, and less financial constraints. The record plant was $500 an hour and you had to book in blocks. You could come to Sky Blue and record all week for $500. Bruce Springsteen showed up there as well.

Choosing Pete Drake on pedal steel guitar was a great choice , Pete was a genius session man, he always played to compliment the singer but he played some memorable licks on that album.

      Lay Lady Lay, a masterpiece.
Blonde on Blonde, John Wesley Harding, and Nashville Skyline, all recorded in Nashville, reveal Dylan as an intrepid music visionary.
