Hip Hop has always been a platform for political discourse. Black Star, BDP, Brand Nubian, De La Soul, Gang Starr, Geto Boys, Ice Cube, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, A Tribe Called Quest, even going back to Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel. They all addressed these issues. Salute Talib for the People’s Party

Damn I’m 49 and I believe it was 78 or 79 and the park in my neighborhood cancelled the little league baseball program because no one came out to join. The crazy thing about that was 2 weeks later when pop warner football started it was packed and of course when it was time to put on equipment that number dwindled but it was still enough kids to have a team. It was like baseball disappeared in one summer!!!!

Looking back on this now, in the current social climate, is very interesting. Now , Black athletes in particular, are encouraged to have some backbone when injustices happen. The pendulum has swung from, " Hey shut up and entertain me." .. To.." Hey aren't you going to say something?" Big Shout Out to Colin Kappernick !!

Talib has been a day 1 favorite emcee for me. From Rawkus to Strong Arm Steady to consistently keeping Jean Grae her dopest (R.I.P. PH) to the time he came in to the Park Slope Barnes and Noble and asked me to help find Paolo Coelho's "The Alchemist". Your journey has been truly inspiring. Jamelle Hill is a voice, mind and pen that needs to continue to be heard. Another day 1 favorite (and Michael Smith). Articulate with thorough thought on past, current and future sociological, media, sports and political issues. Keep the movement moving. Thank you

Joy Jenkins exactly my point. Lamar was on a promo for his book. And it’s his personality. I love Lamar like the rest of us. Glad he’s doing well. But he didn’t say anything I didn’t know. And he wasn’t engaging. But the sistah J. Hill was amazing. Talib is just getting started with this podcast shit. He’ll get to the point where he can hold his own better wit an interview like L Odom.

Baseball is dominated by poor black kids from the Dominican Republic. I don't know how she can believe the kids in inner-cities are too poor to play. If anything Major League Baseball has more of a reach in American inner-cities than the DR with programs like RBI and such.

The NFL is 68% black and only 12.7% of the country is so. Get your head out of the clouds. Well, I shouldn't be surprised. Good podcast but I could point out several times she contradicted herself, and as far as Candace Owens, I think what Jemele Hill doesn't understand is whether you like ppl like the Diamond & Silk, Larry Elder, Candace Owens, etc. or not these ppl have platforms. They don't need you to interview them it matters not. Candace Owens has 1.6 million followers on twitter and Jemele Hill has 1.16 million followers, so its not like "your so much bigger than her like you think" so its not like she needs you. Talib Kweli you have 1 million followers on twitter & Rogan has over 5 million followers on twitter, I know you said you wouldn't want to interview him because of previous guest but in reality, he doesn't need you lol.
I would respect you folks more if you just said, "I want to only talk to ppl who agree with me" because truth be told neither of you (Jemele Hill & Talib Kweli) are equipped to even have in depth discussions on race and equality. You both come from a media driven narrative between ACTUAL progressives & ACTUAL conservatives.

Jemele talks about people doing their research and doing the work well is she would do hers she will see that trump didnt say all Mexicans are rapist, drug deals, and killers he was talking about the m-13 gang members. So one black man comes out and said that trump wouldn't rent to him so that makes him racist? I can understand if it was like 6-10 black people who came out and said this but you cant call him racist off of he didn't/woundn't rent to one black dude. The central part 5 confessed to doing the crime so please explain again how does that make him racist? And dont give me that nonsense about them being scared little kids, because they were read their rights and didnt have to speak but they did. Nor do I want to hear about them not understanding because at the end of being read your right you're ask if you understand so that argument goes out of the window. So jamele and tweli are ok will Hillary calling black people super predators? So black people who voted for tump are racist? If you're undocumented then you should be deported what are you even talking about?
