The booing was a national embarassment. I think the attempt by Tennis Australia to turn the Open into a party venue has backfired badly. Simply too many drunks in the crowd.
I had the flu with a fever of 39°C, and after fully recovering, I had to stay up for a few nights due to work, which led to a muscle tear in my latissimus dorsi during exercise. It healed completely in about 1.5 weeks, and I’m 48 years old. If you’re playing tennis at the highest professional level at the age of 38, it’s normal for a muscle tear to happen. What’s not normal is booing the statistically greatest tennis player of all time, who has won the Australian Grand Slam ten times, just because he got injured. People have become so used to writing nonsense on social media that they now act rudely in real life too, reaching absurd levels of arrogance.

He was not the same player in the tie break and still it was only 7-5. He would the title if not the injury. Novak on high level is unplayable. We hope he recovers well and continues winning
When a player gets a fresh injury, sometimes they can manage to go on with sheer adrenaline and a good player like Djoko can even win the match. Later , the injury takes its toll.
Sad to see Novak go out this way. We know that it must be really really bad if he had to retire from a Grand Slam semi final. Hope he heals up well and comes back strong at Roland Garros ❤
He's almost 38 and this injuries are getting more and more frequent. Hope he can win at least one more Slam, but his body seems to struggle to deal with this tournaments.
I've been saying this since he won gold... I think he needs to take a break for 3-4 months, get completely healthy, and come back rejuvenated for one last hurrah until he can't go on anymore.
For whatever his personal reasons are for continuing through at this point in his career, ( at what is statistically an uphill challenge as any person ages ), particularly with what I consider to be a much larger cadre of better players, it is a tennis landmark for this man. For longstanding fans such as myself, I am disappointed that this has happened but this is life.
We all know Djokovic and if he wasn’t injured he wouldn’t retire. Why booing him? The guy already gave you a great show for one set. He’s obviously trying to stay in decent health to continue to play.
They all won at 36 the big three and couldn't play consecutive grueling 5 setters. If it was three sets they'd be able to push and not need perfect conditions or to be front runners to navigate the body. This is why 5 setters should never be 3 like women.
GOAT Beats Alcaraz through an injury, almost won set 1 today battling in pain, imagine if he was fit, #25 would be his... very unfortunate but can't ponder for too long, still 3 more slams in the year, onwards and upwards. 🐐
That's the way he usually beats Alcaraz (when he does), through an injury, like in Cincinnati, that's the problem. We want to see tennis and gentlemanly behavior, not dramas and medical timeouts
@@gniebnamuh-f3b tf are you saying ?? Yes .....apart from the fact Sinner is smashing everyone like mash potatoes at the moment...I'm not sure anyone can stop him. Have you seen his ball striking?
Djokovic is like all players his age. He's more prone to injury. What a great player. Definitely one of the top three top players ever. Wish him well. Sinner is without question the best player in the world.
I get some of the fans in the stadium were upset after paying a lot of money to watch the match, but at Novaks age having that kind of injury, it’s the right decision and a tough one at that.
@@Leejungwoo48 that's how I feel as well. I can handle people picking him as the GOAT over Federer because I admire him as well but Federer will ALWAYS remain a special player.
Federer was the special sauce. Take all the best players before him and combine theyre best talents and it was him. Especially when he was on in his 20s
I have so much respect for Novak and Zverev's comments at the end of the match says everything you need to know about the mental and physical resilience, strength, and endurance that Novak has. I can't imagine the pain that he is in as it's difficult to tell because of those previous qualities that he possesses. Lastly, I really don't get the questions from the press. They keep pressing him to focus on the negatives and negatively focused questions to either provoke so fresh after the event or draw out an answer they can sensationalize for views and likes. The F'ing Western press is truly insane.
The great news is that he wants to keep going, illustrated by the fact that he retired. He didnt want to injure it further and perhaps not be able to recover. He has no chance to win any grand slam. He'll win the 100th tournament in Belgrade (atp250) just to beat this last record. But no slams, Sinner in hard courts and this year also grass is almost unbeatable and Alcaraz or Zverev on clay RG. The rest of 1000 will be all won by either Sinner or Alcaraz or Zverev or some surprise. That's all folks for Djokovic

@@rastkogojgic699 Today he knew he would lose so he walked out. He always did that
Legend mate you deserve all our respect not treated like crap in the past and recently
Match probably would have been an instant classic if Novak was healthy. Fantastic ball striking and point play and an hour and a half of tennis for one set alone.
Get well soon Djoko. I’m going to miss him so much when he’s retired. We all gotta appreciate him while he’s around
He was not the same player in the tie break and still it was only 7-5. He would the title if not the injury. Novak on high level is unplayable. We hope he recovers well and continues winning
❤
@@marinko1862my thoughts exactly
AUGURI NOLE!ALLA PROSSIMA. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
7-6 actually!! I agree@@marinko1862
You are the absolute GOAT Novak Djokovic so sad to see you go out like that today please get well soon. 🇹🇳
When a player gets a fresh injury, sometimes they can manage to go on with sheer adrenaline and a good player like Djoko can even win the match. Later , the injury takes its toll.
Ima ona stara " LAKO JE U DOBRU BITI DOBAR" VELIKA PODRSKA ZA TEBE OD MENE❤❤❤❤🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
@@badmanskill1112 yep, he put everything into that Olympics. Needs a longer break and completely heal.
He will win one for sure, he’s a top 3 player and can beat anyone at anytime
Because he played only 2 tournaments in 2-3 months. He lacks match practise.
Novak the legend...
I wonder if there is a limit to how many slams a human body can handle ? ..
It's looking like it's 24 and out....
They all won at 36 the big three and couldn't play consecutive grueling 5 setters. If it was three sets they'd be able to push and not need perfect conditions or to be front runners to navigate the body. This is why 5 setters should never be 3 like women.
The best there was, the best there ever will be!
Speedy recovery Champ.

He got lucky and Tom Jones was right. He's washed up
No it wouldn't, he can't beat sinner
@@gniebnamuh-f3b tf are you saying ?? He literally retired due to an injury and he also beat alcaraz in olympics in straights without any injury...and your also saying its not gentlemanly behaviour and he is putting on a show and creating drama when he ACTUALLY retired. You people are disgusting man
Yes
.....apart from the fact Sinner is smashing everyone like mash potatoes at the moment...I'm not sure anyone can stop him. Have you seen his ball striking?
The GOAT has spoken ❤
He's not the goat. Federer was an all round player - and way more talented.
@@DLPB-u9zEXACTLY 💫💫👏👏👏👏👏🙌

He's done. Spent force.
Looks like this is his last australian open TBH
Thanks for trying so hard Novak. True sportsman.

We have been very lucky having you on tour for last 20 years. Wish you a speedy recovery and your health is more important than the match.
Djokovic is like all players his age. He's more prone to injury. What a great player. Definitely one of the top three top players ever. Wish him well. Sinner is without question the best player in the world.

The big, big, biggest Nole!! The greatest tennis champion of all time. Thank you for every moment I've had watching you take this sport to the sky!!!
I get some of the fans in the stadium were upset after paying a lot of money to watch the match, but at Novaks age having that kind of injury, it’s the right decision and a tough one at that.
This is what happens to old players, they get injured. But look what he did to Alcaraz and Zverev injured. He looks like he can win another Slam.
He sure plays still better than them in his form, but he is so prone to injuries. I hope this was just an unlucky one and gets a slam win again
If he’s prone to injuries, what about Nadal?
I've always been a Fed fan. But please don't leave Novak. The sport still needs you.
Federer was something unique..he truly will be remembered always..he was a special player..and I know most of us miss him on court❤@@BreeZieDoesiT
This man has been a huge part of me and my dad's life for 20 years and i was in tears tonight. So many memories of me and my dad watching his matches throughout those two decades. So much joy. Zivili King Novak!
Djokovic has got nothing left to prove to anyone, especially the disrespectful, ignorant crowd
Veliki šampion Đoković, razmazio je publiku tako da se i polufinale smatra neuspjehom, kakav šampion, respekt iz njegove države porijekla Crne Gore!
This is the best chance for Zverev to win , Zverev deserve atleast one grandslam 😢
Hope the woman beater doesn’t win. He’s gross 🤮
And then he ever will always think he won only cause Nole retired. 🫣😏But this won't happen I guess.
Nobody dies people... relax !
Respect to the Goat!
Get well soon Novak!❤
Eventhough I'm a big Federer fan, I have a hueg respect for Nole and I think that the Aussies need to think about their behavior.
Most disrespectful crowd I have ever witnessed in my life.
You pay $300 for 1 set and no memories.
Well u saw them b4 against medvedev the last time nadal won it. (The time they refused entry to novak). Bunch of w$$$$$ Aussie tennis supporters
@ the guy gave you lifetime of memories and moments. Put some respect on that. No money “lost” could ever justify the way the crowd treated novak. Disrespectful and disgusted tbh

His injury was notable when he served. Constantly landing on the injured leg would have made it even worse. Wish you speedy recovery, Novak! You'll comeback even stronger! ❤
Veliki naš Nole! Brz oporavak! The goat 🇷🇸🐐
Lol
I am a Federer fan…but people who booed Novak should be ashamed and never call themselves a tennis fan again…go watch football or something where this is acceptable…Novak is the goat…work on your tennis IQ.
Rafa fan here, i was hoping for Nole to win. Those who booed should be ashamed. He has indured to much unnecessary hate thoughout the years and i think he finally deserves some love ❤
Wisest man on tour hands down! Way he handles criticism is unbelievable. He never said a word against crowd even when the idiots booed him off the court. ❤❤
you aussies spectators disappoint with your attitude ...
@carlosmacedo4792 same thing would have happened at every major… guaranteed. Esp to Novak. His comments about whether he could’ve or would’ve played on had he won the first set was interesting. Doesn’t do him any favours.
Champion of the Australian open for ever and ever. The one and only Novak 🏆
Love Djokovic. We have been blessed in the last 20 years to see Rafa, Roger and Novak. I think all three are absolutely brilliant tennis players. Rafa ia my all time favourite though.
Hopefully Novak is retired
Please dont write Novak off tremendous player get well soon Novak ..good luck to sacha

Wish for speedy recovery, legend.
This is so so sad to see as a Novak fan ..he was really playing great ball striking was amazing ..damm this injury...he would have surely beaten Zverv today...was looking forward to match against Sinner in final... hopefully we can see you for couple of more years Novak in grandslams injury free with this great level...love from India
Wish it happens but doubtful. He may retire at end of 2025😢. If he wins atleast 1Gs, wud b nice
