Please do not send a barrage of hate to Drewbian, this is intended to be an assessment of his failings as well as his lack of transparency between the community and the development team, that and also is intended to highlight the fact that he's seriously dug his head into the sand alongside the rest of the developers regarding Evolutions and Level 15.
Drewbian is only one man, this video is more or less a reflection of his failings as well as the failings of the entirety of Clash Royale's dev team that has led to the game's perilous position in present times.
Had to completely change my plans editing wise thanks to Davinci Resolve's limitations. If my next video takes longer, it's because I switched to an alternative editing software!

Apologies in advance if this video comes off as harsh. I love Supercell, I love Clash Royale and I even respect Drewbian, but I don't love or respect how it's been *TWO MONTHS* since my first ever Clash Royale video voicing my complaints about the matter and yet nothing has changed.

Eh you are definitely doing something right. I'm watching half an hour long videos about games I never played and in a couple of cases never knew they even existed. So don't worry to mich about the sprach impediment, wouldn't have noticed if you didn't write about it.

He's pretty infamous too especially when it comes to balance changes.
I think he would of been more infamous if not for the fact he moved to other Supercell Games.

This video is great- publicising the ever-growing issues with the monetary systems in clash royale, clearly researched and all condense into a podcast- esque format. You are rapidly becoming one of the greatest mobile game UA-camrs (or at least documentaries).

Glad you're enjoying the content, are finding my formatting to be enjoyae and I am glad that learning things from my previous content formatting is paying off; I did want to further alter my formatting but my editing software didn't allow it, I am going to find a work around eventually though.
I have fond memories of when Yao Yao (I'm not sure of the exact name) was considered the best player. It would be interesting to watch a video discussing the "golden era" of Clash Royale and what made it so special. By the way, great video! It's been a while since I've seen such depth in a video.

CR was always P2W, but now they really show their greedy nature. For that reason, I always quit really fast when I made a account (And because I was bad). I joined back again actively in 2021, one of my classmates encouraged me to play again. That was the time when Super Troops were new I think. I finally understood the game and became good (15 wins in a global Mega Draft tournament). Seeing this makes me sad, and I'm very glad I never paid in the game. I was always F2P and the Masteries Update made me addicted, because it was the best update for F2P players with magic items.

I personally think that there is some hypocrisy coming from creators like Oj who trash on level 15 but the he upgrades a whole deck to level 15
They don't want to suffer while making content. BossCR explained that in his review

@@poopyheadspoop3758 well, this applies to lvl 15 too. It gives too much of an advantage to miss out on. Keep in mind that it isn't BS and lvl doesn't add 10% of the lvl 1 stats, it gives 20% of the previous lvl! (Aka upgrading 12->13 gives you less stats than upgrading 13->14)

@@poopyheadspoop3758 that's kinda how politics work. Only the stupid will go against the stream and try to change it on their own. The smart one will preach his ideas to the masses while keeping himself safe, so if something goes wrong, he can try again. It's dirty, but that's just how the world works
With what the games become, I really miss when Seth was still around while not perfect it felt like there were at least valid attempts from him and devs to keep the game healthy from a balance perspective.
Also monthly balance changes ment if anything was overturned it would only be like that for a month.
Seth's lack of involvement with clash royale since his resignation has been felt as it's left drew and max to pick up the pieces, although max wasn't even mentioned inside of the video, he's arguably a clown with a similar magnitude of stupidity up his sleeves
@@NaidvarRambles it's kind of a good thing he left when he did, he would of sunk low too. Balance Changes are already bad enough. And he wasn't any better with the communication either.
His reputation would be worse if he stayed.
Also I remember disliking Seth more at the time.
So leaving was a good decision for him.
Massive disagree on 2021, if anything 2021 and most of 2022 was the only time in CR histroy that it wasn't p2w, magic items were an insane progression buff for all players and not just the p2w ones.
New cards have always been expensive. In 2016 when the first 2 legendaries were added( The princess and ice wizard) it would cost $22,000 to max out ONE of them (no I'm serious). The game has always been p2w and people only now realize this.
It weird how you call the mighty miner op on release when it recived 3 buffs in 3 weeks and didn’t recive any nerfs until 6 months later.
Also according to OJ the reason that the dev team thought that the phoenix was balanced is because when play testing the phoenix it would always be in both player's decks so it would always have a 50% winrate, you can't make this crap up lmao.
30:26 a much better example would be the gear rework. In 2021 BS relased the gears and club league update which was basically CR's level 14,15 and cw2 combined in 1 update. They then did nothing to fix it for 8 months then when asked said that they will not fix it for another 8 months along side releasing a "summer update" that had 50% less content than normal updates. This obviously started to kill the game and cause outrage. And yet even after receiving tons of direct hate and harassment they still decided to swallow thier pride, listen to community, become extremely transparent and here we are today.

I agree that 2021 was probably the most balanced the game has ever been and perhaps I got a little blinded by nostalgia but this is one of those situations where my personal opinions did seep through; I personally saw 2021 as the beginning of the end regarding pretty much all of this madness considering champions were a sign of worse things to come, even if there were magic items (that were arguably a bit overpowered at launch)
Also upon looking into everything, I got my information about Mighty Miner slightly wrong and completely forgot to mention that he had been buffed to be viable before being nerfed 💀
also you're going to make me want to make a video about Brawl Stars and I actually want to talk positively about that game soon LOL
it is amazing how brawl stars finally recovered and I am really hoping Clash Royale follows the same route

At the end of the day, who is to blame for CR's shift to a P2W style and neglecting the majority of its players? The community managers, who are (so far) the ONLY people who are part of the CR dev team that we get any form of news from? The dev team in its entirety for allowing such a dirty style of game "progression" to happen in the first place? Supercell (or the ones above them) for enforcing such changes to the game?
Regardless of who's at fault, something needs to change.....or else Clash Royale will be nothing more of a wasteland, fueled by greed, toxicity, and the money whales catering back to these new slimy demands.
clash royale has already been heading down that path for some time but it's gotten really bad ever since level 15 and evolutions, it's completely outrageous in my mind now this update has been approved and now it's further convicting people to spend money on the game in spite of the waning community outrage
they're actually going to get away with this as people like myself will inevitably move on regarding this subject, in fact, this is quite literally going to be my last "clash royale is dying" video for the next few months, if ever, I really hope one day I can reflect on this as just a pothole in the road of clash royale's journey
I think, Level 14 was ok, because they wanted to do something with the new Level, Level 15 and Evolutions were cash grabs!

I dont think clash royal will make a comback maybe it has something to do with the lead dev of clash royal as we currently dont know who it is if i remember or something like that idk. another commenter pointed out that brawl stars and it's gears update plus other summer related updates straight up broke the game and began to kill it for 8 months so who knows, maybe it'll eventually recover!
@@NaidvarRambles has been playing brawl stars for months and the recent updates were great. Yes, the gears update kinda killed it but they got back up. The reason I think cr won't come back is cause they have different dev teams and we don't k ow who the lead is for cr

You make a couple of good points but several parts of this video are just untrue, you don't mention Max at all and you just end up insulting Drew by the end.
yeah I admittedly forgot to mention max at all considering he is a prominent conductor for the circus that has been the mismanagement of this update but there are some things that I do agree were an oversight, drew was not actively involved with the development of level 14 nor did he take much community feedback at the time
however, at the end, that was most of my emotions boiling over, I went off script and did something that was admittedly a little foolish and directly insulted him
thankfully there is hope, he responded to my video on twitter and there's a chance that he may interview me, of which there will be a chance to rectify any misunderstandings and ask questions regarding clash royale and it's development
