😂❤Larry was a menace and the biggest trash talker. Telling the other team what you are doing with the ball is nutty. But Larry was never mean, he kept the taunts about basketball and the game. A GOAT for sure.
Being 70, I was fortunate enough to watch Larry Bird's entire career. I started watching the Celtics the year before Larry's rookie year. They were awful, but I learned a lot that year. After watching the greatest assembly of players in NBA history during his playing years, I realized Larry Bird is the goat. Any player who tells the opposing team what, where, and when they're going to shoot the ball, and you can't stop them? That's the goat. That's Larry Legend.
Larry didn't last very long due to injuries... But when he was healthy, nobody was better. Ever. And all of his contemporaries would agree with that statement.
Oh, yeah, for sure. Let me recommend the best Larry Bird video here. It is just over a minute long... It is Arkansas Hall of Fame College basketball coach Nolan Richardson speaking at Bird's Hall of Fame induction. So good Brother, I know you will get a kick out of it, check it out. And watching the shots from this video of Bird with Magic Johnson and Bill Russell sitting behind him (two of my top tens for sure) laughing is just too good. @@NoCodeLive
Enjoyed your reaction 😊 For me Larry Bird's trash talking, either broke a player down, or forced an opponent to be a better player, & it was the strength of the player, which way they were affected.......that was just a part of who Bird was 😊 Bird would even trash talk his own team, if he thought they weren't playing to their potential 😊
Larry was a savage, watched him growing up and it was so much fun. I remember those "Magic Moments" and miss those days. The refs let the guys play and there was no such thing as a flopper.
Keep going with Bird. He will absolutely become your favorite player. He's a perfect sports role model. Played hard for every second, will to win at 100, got in folks heads and made them doubt themselves and all this while playing hurt for most of his career with spine that frequently fell out of alignment
Hey bro great reaction. I wanted to tell you that during that game that he told Magic he was going to put on a show he ended up with 36 points 21 rebounds 16 assists four steals and two blocks.😁🤣😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Great reaction! Glad you're learning about Larry Legend! I buy that Bird knew who Jordan was but he had no way of knowing what was going to happen over the next few years! That's ridiculous!
Besides checking out Courtship of Rivals... which I'm hoping you'll be doing soon?! You should really check out that Hawks game when Larry Bird drops 60.....breaking the Celtics Scoring record!
Grew up in Chicago but I was a Celtics fan and to me Larry Legend is the GOAT Because of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson we still have the NBA the rivalry between th is 2 players and their teams changed the NBA games started being televised and the audience grew bigger, then commercialsand endorsements (basketball shoes) people went to bars to watch the games which was unheard before. I’m in my 60s now, a grandma still living in C
Enjoying your reactions! I have a request - Larry Bird, Bird is the Word 15 minutes of Larry Legend. It's so much fun, and there are clips you won't see anywhere else. Let the music play if you can stand it. The last song is fantastic.
"Larry Legend" is the most appropriate nickname in NBA history. Here is a fun story to add to the Legend: Lance Stephenson playing for the Indiana Pacers told this story about his boss, Team President Larry Bird, who was in his early 60s at the time. Bird was dressed in street clothes. Pretty amazing story. ua-cam.com/video/Z8ajleItEug/v-deo.html
Enjoyed your reactions and your comments. Keep this is mind, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson saved the NBA from extinction. No other players have that distinction. Not MJ, Not Kobe, Not Shaq, Not LeBron. To watch those two guys on the court at the same time was a basketball lovers dream. And it wasn't so much the shooting, as the incredible passes. Bird and Magic made other team members all-stars.
A great video to react to is Larry Bird/Making The Case. It presents the argument as to why Bird should be considered the GOAT. It's controversial, but fun to watch and listen to.
for a glimpse of the greatest playoff series in nba history check out "birds greatest underdog story" a few of those stories were cut off too early. for instance the bird and Dr j story cut out seconds before both bird and Dr j started throwing hands which ended in a bench clearing brawl
Enjoy your content young man. You got to check out the one titled. Larry Bird almost makes a player commit suicide. It is awesome and hilarious story teller by the player himself, lol
I like your reaction and here is one that really is funny and tells a lot about Larry coming into the league. “The Best Larry Bird "ALPHA MALE ROOKIE" Story Ever Told” ua-cam.com/video/lQmhFZmPFoI/v-deo.html
Bird and Magic had such an incredible impact on both the sport and the fans... they had the highest basketball IQ's I ever seen... They were next level ballers... The sport hasn't been the same ever since for me personally...I can't relate to modern day basketball... it's to soft...

Pls react to Wilt Chamberlain The GOAT In His Prime and Wilt Chamberlain The Most Athletic Giant Ever. The true GOAT of basketball. He played 14 seasons and has more minutes played than Shaq in 19 seasons, also has more points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals than Shaq. They only started recording blocks the year after he retired, should tell you his dominance on defense especially when they were trying to write a narrative that Bill Russell was a better defender. It's nonsense. There were 8 HOFers on the Celtics vs 1 Wilt. His career 54% is levels above MJ's 49% and over half of his shots were faders. And idc about the plumber talk, skill was low so physicality was at its highest and Wilt scored his 100 on 2 6'10 white guy "plumbers".
Wilt wasn't allowed in the league until they changed some rules, he joined the pros at 23 after dominating in college and playing for the Globetrotters. If he got the Kareem treatment he would have joined at 18 and if he joined the Lakers after 6 years like Reem he would have played with prime West and Baylor. Easily would have half of Bill's rings and there would be no future for GOAT talks. They didn't want him to win the chips cause statistically he is still the most dominant EVER. Outbenched prime Shaq as an old man a few years before his death.

60 point game: 61% from the field, 15 of 16 free throws, one three, calling his shots. I can see why the opposing bench was going crazy.

You will learn, Larry learned from older young Black men. Why Larry didn't like whites guarding him. Also, Larry kicked the ball over Jordan's head.
You can tell by the way he plays he love to black with black guys because he was use to it . An that’s hilarious about him an Jordan 🤣
