I've never heard of anybody (from my family) catching sturgeon in the Wisconsin River. I didn't think they'd exist until this video and I looked it up. Sure enough, as you said, in the lower Wisconsin River. Pretty cool
My friend brought his net into work and had me cut the end off the handle and drill a hole through it. Then he has a bolt that goes through a wooden rod that locks it to the net handle. So now he has a net handle that can be made eight feet longer for salmon fishing off a wall in Lake Michigan.
Coming from the Kenosha area, where is the most southern point (shortest drive) in your spots that you would recommend to go for 1. flats and 2. channels? Thanks for your help, great videos!
Are you going to fish on the wisconsin river soon? There’s a good place by mcfarlanes in wisconsin sauk city and there is a broken train/road bridge and it’s a good place to fish
I lost two rods in one year. Now I tie a small rope to something and clip the rope to my reel handle with a carabiner. The one rod was brand new and my PVC rod holder broke and the other I jumped in the water and felt the end of the rod about the time that water went up my nose and I went under. Then I realized that my phone was still on my rain jacket pocket under the water. Luckily rice was able to save the phone. After that I always put my phone inside a zip loc bag when I'm fishing and tie my rods to something.
It seems depleted down here to me 20 or 30 years the catfishing was crazy you could go downtown st Charles and you could see school's of channel cats it was nothing to catch a 30 pound blue from there at night but it's hard down here these days

I always wondered about that area. Lots of small rivers and creeks empty into the lower wisconsin, and lots of them are good spots.
The pine and the Kickapoo have a few areas I need to check out.

I’ve seen both on the fox at Burlington. I’ve heard of flats on the Milwaukee river but never seen one myself.

It’s pretty far from me and I do better on the Wisconsin overall.
I was just wondering I've heard the upper Mississippi is depleted of catfish from commercial fishing is that true
@@danpierce8759 I’m not sure. Overall, the Wisconsin performs way better than the Missouri or Mississippi for me.
