    I can’t set work plan I don’t know what’s wrong here. When choosing set work plan choose name clicking ok take me new window under name (Go To View) I don’t want that. Can you help in this case?
    Thank you

      I believe what is happening is that you are in a view where you cannot effectively see or work on the work plane you set. For example, if you are in a floor plan view and you choose a plane or set a plane that is on the side of a wall of a section cut, then you can no longer work in the floor plan view you are in. Revit will attempt to open a view that you can use to work from based on the work plane you just set. Hope that answers it.

    how to remove a work plane ?

    Hi I am a student in my second of 2 Revit courses in community college. My dilemma is, I drew my family object on the wrong plane and now I want to change the plane without having to redraw it. Did this happen because I chose the wrong generic family to create from? If you have created a video on this subject (sorry, I did not extract this information in this video), please link me to one that has this info. Again, thank you for providing these learning tools. Excellent work.

      Thank you very much! This generally is the chosen family template as if you choose a floor (for example) you will only be able to place the family on a floor. For a lot of families I make, I just use a generic model so that I can determine all of that myself. That is done based on how it is placed in the project, rather than the work plane you use to draw it in a generic model family template.

    I also never actually never used the viewer, I somehow thought there was more to it, guess I haven't been missing anything. I did not really know about the 2d vs 3d ref. plane toggle. Why would you ever want to have one or the other? Adjusting as you did changed nothing, it wasn't going to print anyways

      You are right on with the viewer. As for the 3D/2D reference lines, you are correct. They would not print so you likely would not use that option with them at all to change their extents. That said, I mentioned how the toggle works the same for grid lines (having a 3D/2D option). This is imperative to use with grid lines because you may have an odd shaped building and need the extents of the grid line to span the entire building while appear to be shorter in a plan view for example.

    Thanks for your wonderful video. How can I associate an object created with a work plane to another workplace? How does dissociate option work? How can I edit work plane?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  4 роки тому

      Depending on the type of object you made, you can edit the workplane in the Modify tab after selecting the element. Disassociating would simply remove the workplane from the object in that you still have the object but no longer associated to the workplane used to create the element. You can edit the workplane by choosing edit workplane or if its just setting a different workplane in your project then use the Set tool to set a new workplane. Hope that help, thank you for the kind words!

      @@ArchitectureVanguard thanks for your response. I've modelled couple of objects using model in place (extrude, sweep) but I can't move them them around.

    Work plane Revit is similar to UCS in AutoCAD

    Hi mate,
    Thanks for the video; just a quick question about this point: ua-cam.com/video/vGsSusIlINE/v-deo.html
    What about the third option ("Pick a line an use...."); I reckon it would be handy to use it at this specific point and pick an unnamed plane...
    Cheers

      Hey, you are right! In this case, you could pick a line but for the reference planes to show up under the reference plane option, they would need to be named. Nothing wrong with picking a line though.

    Back ground music is awful in most cases but this is exceptionally awful. So much so that I can’t bear to watch this video.
