      How can I keep the Love of God to myself? I feel we never feel real happiness because we take pride in our knowledge and ability as humans. And we do too much. We ought to discover the science around us and use it to help one another - but not without considering the importance of the Love and Peace God gives through the manifestation of Himself through Jesus Christ.

      @RedTail1-1 Tell me, what makes the earth constantly undergo revolution, rotation while tilting on its axis, as the universe is expanding? Why has the sea not overflown for years, who keeps the snows and frost in secret places for times of winter, and famine and war? Why can humans be killed by anything, even as micro as micro-organisms, even though we have technological breakthroughs and are more powerful than all creations on earth? Why are some weak animals immune to what we are endangered to? In life, the best thing to do is to identify what the problem is and find out what will fix it. The point is, there is a problem with the human race, and knowing facts about the science world is not enough - but what is more important is 'how does this solve the problem?' Again, the things we discover, we didn't make them, the Sovereign Creator has given us the task of discovering these facts, using them in our world, and to also not turn a blind eye to the fact that if we do not regard the conclusion that sin, a disease in humans, is also a problem to tackle using the tactics laid down in the BIBLE, our discoveries will only always give a bad effect as well as a good effect. For example, Albert Einstein discovered important things and made the theory of general relativity; as a result, the 20th century was the bloodiest century of world war. Why? because one problem was left without regard - SIN.

    1:09 "The grape falls a bit slower than the melon" I'd have thought the WATERMELON would fall a bit slower, as it has larger surface area and therefore generates more air resistance. Was this a cox-up?

    • @fromnorway643
      @fromnorway643 5 років тому +4

      For objects of the same shape, their surface areas are proportional to the _square_ of their width, while their volumes - and thus mass if their densities are similar - are proportional to the _cube_ of their width.
      That means that if the melon is roughly 10 times wider than the grape, it has a 10 x 10 = 100 times larger surface area, but a 10 x 10 x 10 = 1000 times larger volume/mass than the grape. The grape therefore has a 10 times larger area relative to its mass than the melon and is thus much more affected by air resistance than the melon.

    I know mathematicians who are convinced the universe is, essentially, mathematical in nature. Here we have a physicist who is convinced life is subject to our laws of physics. The massive in-depth knowledge we get from specialisation is incredibly valuable but the danger is thinking their specialisation is the be all and end all.
    Mathematics and physics are amongst our attempts to explain what we are witnessing. Whilst what we are witnessing may not change, our understanding of it probably will. So far it has been constantly changing and it's presumptuous to assume we know it all now.
    I'm thoroughly impressed with Brian's enthusiasm and wonder and it would be greater still if he got hold of the right end of the stick. What these creatures are doing informs our physics, not the other way round.

      the 'bounce' happens because the grape has a certain amount of elasticity - to return to its original shape. The melon has this property too, but is significantly lower. This elasticity or ability to return to its original shape is what causes the object to bounce, and why objects with very high elasticity (such as a rubber ball) will bounce much higher than other objects.

    (gravity) the theory that's never been proven! thing's fall through different mediums, depending on their relative density to each other. air and water are both fluids, only ones a gas and the other a liquid, objects fall down onto a motionless plane at 9.82m\s2 because they are simply heavier than the air surrounding them. this is just the rate things fall through that perticular medium. a helium balloon will fall upwards because it's more boyant than the air surrounding it. drop a rock into a lake, it will sink because it's heavier than the water surrounding it. drop a cork into the lake, it will float because it's more boyant than the water surrounding it. this is why birds,... insects,... smoke,... air_balloons,... arn't effected!.... this is also the reason whales,... big sharks,... cruise liners,... don't get sucked down onto the seabed,... because ( gravity) doesn't exist! the earth has no curvature! ....
    the earth isn't moving!...
    the vacuum of space is a hoax!
