- Another Verus Hilla guide, because 6th job is out, and my previous one was kinda mid. Way too long, too. So this one is less than 20 minutes, that should be easy enough to watch without your attention span fading. I've been wanting to remake a Verus Hilla guide for a good minute.
Verus Hilla looks complicated, just enter practice mode and try dodging stuff for like 1 minute. Don't attack her. Or, if you want, attack her until she's 75% HP so she can begin to use her "bone wave" attacks (purple + green waves). Remember, far right corner hugging is fine to avoid strings. However, fart clouds will spawn there (10% tick HP damage) and her minions can spawn there. Also, she can do bone wave attacks there and you have very little space to get behind or in front of her.
Honorable mentions for this fight: you want to take BLINK node, you can jump midair and then "aerial recovery" to stay midair between two strings (I hope that makes sense). If you have no space, take out "rope lift" node because this boss fight is just one flat surface. No platforms whatsoever. Take Fatal Strikes I as a special node. Remember it procs every 30 seconds, and it gives you 100% damage for 2 seconds, so if this activates during your burst (you're supposed to time it) it's kinda massive. Also take Erda Nova if your class has no regular bind. Origin bind is completely separate from regular binding. You can do both of them back to back.
Remember the strategy is to buff up (Angelic Buster link, etc.) immediately and origin bind her as soon as you spawn in. The exact tile you spawn in is safe from strings. After the origin bind is done and she starts moving again (CAREFUL she can teleport, make sure she's standing still) you can regular bind her (Erda Nova if you don't have a class bind) immediately after while your burst buffs are still active, so you can maximize damage output. After that, rinse repeat. Bind and burst whenever those are both up simultaneously. The lower her HP is, the faster she will "sweep" the map and take away your red skulls (if you got stringed).
Try your best not to permanently lose lives early on. You can lose like 1-2 lives, but anything more becomes a nightmare and you can "snowball" the fight into a clutch run or just failure.

Do you struggle fighting Verus Hilla?
She's actually very easy tbh. h(eadache)will is probably the hardest boss for me that's pre grandis aside from BM.
You mention at 13:30 that in order to get cleansed you need to get enough red strings. Which is correct, but more specifically, enough strings to fill the amount of candles lit in the background.
When the golf swing attack happens, the stun portion can be dodged allowing you to reposition without being stunned. Either up jump or up teleport as soon as the blue wispy attack comes out. There is a small delay between the start of the animation and stun.
Also when stunned here is a tip.
During "golf swing" if you have an ability that can stop all movement you can spam press it after you are stunned and the ability will go off as the swing happens, your character will not move. You can also spam up teleport if ur class has that to dodge the knockback when coming out of the stun.
Also, the hour glass has shards that fall to the ground, dont get hit by these shards because they do a lot of damage. These shards spawn every time the hour glass goes down.
Also the number of times you need to get hit to spawn the altar for cleanse corresponds with thr number of candles in background of vhilla, when all are lit you will see the altar.

I was struggling, A friend told me to stop flash jumping. And it made the fight much more easy. You really don't need much movement to avoid attacks. Learn the attack colors and it's kinda easy

well most importantly still, you need the damage, players need to be making several billions per line minimum to past the damage test

Running vhilla with a large party is so annoying
if you keep summoning familiar repeatedly it heals you at a faster interval, that is cool, that I'm not aware of, thank you, learnt something new
