@ternalpros9061 this is a hyperspeed mouse. This is their lower end lineup that doesn't have built in battery and lower end switches. Always has been this way.
Little tidbit of info for Techne... The DeathAdder V3 is close in shape to the now defunct Razer Mamba. It's production name was Mamba V2 - then somewhere along the way they've implemented some things from the DeathAdder, and it became the DeathAdder V3 - which is essentially a DeathAdder/Mamba hybrid lol
Clearly Razer is working on redesigning their mice. Not necessarily bad but it's kind of weird considering the image these mice developed over the years. I have mixed feelings about what a Basilisk v4 is going to look like now lol.
Viper (V2) still looks amazing, I always loved that "sharp smoothness" (I also call it a Lambo design) design language. I hate this new design. Looks so boring and cheap. Razer was on a good path to greatness, but now? Horrible decisions all around.
Well they do need redesigns. Most of their shapes absolutely suck. For having the best tech its such a downer to see that. DAV3 is really good but man the viper? Really i don't understand who that mouse is even targetted to. USed it for 3 years and could never get as good as i got on my model D wired in ONE WEEK. Every other mouse ive tried since then ive done way better then i ever did on the viper and i use all sorts of grips. Like fingertip? To long, claw? To flat, Palm? lol. Palm claw hybrid? lol again. Like i really dont know who the viper is made for.
@@WorldKeepsSpinnin Yeah I am used to my Viper V2 by now but I also kind of regret splashing out for it, and now feel I have to use it for a while because I spent on it.

Techne, actually the Darmoshark M3 s "Varun" is a symetrical mouse, similar to the Pulsar X2 (medium). But I find that type of mouse to be good too because of the higher hump.

The Mamba Wireless was essentially a flat sided Deathadder and the Deathadder V3 is basically what would've resulted if they kept the Mamba name going. The Viper V3 seems like it's trying to unify the 3rd Generation of their product lines but jeez they are really going the current Apple route of all these convoluted mice releases. The Viper V3 would benefit greatly with some rechargeable AA NiMH or maybe even AA style/ sized rechargeable lithium seeing as how the battery life is far shorter than that of the Orochi V2 and Logitech G305. This may be a budget mouse but overall cost of ownership may not.
1. I feel vibration in both black and white Orochis and in Deathadder v2x when using AA lithium batteries. So I started using AAA lithium rechargeable batteries. 2. I really don't understand why Razer didn't make the top shell removable. Even in the middle of a match, I change the battery in my Orochi and v2x as quickly as Red Bull change tires at the pit stop in Formula 1. 3. Looks like Razer has decided that I already have enough Razer mouse models and don't need new ones...
I am currently using this mouse with a lithium AA battery. I definitely feel the weight a little bit coming from the GPX, but It's not anything that affected my gameplay.
original viper shape is the best mouse i ever used, been there with gprox, finalmouse etc. but still viper original has the best shape for me. Did use deahtadder and that shape was no go
I have a feeling Razer will be releasing another variant of this down the line (viper v3 pro) with a built in battery and stuff thats competitive with the gpx2.
Me personally, I think this mouse feels well balanced. I thought it’d feel back heavy, but it’s just the weight is higher than what I was used to.. (the death adder V3 Pro) so it took a day or two to get used to it. So it’s just the the little weight difference you notice, not that it’s back heavy because that just isn’t true, with the lithium AA battery it feels really good overall, still heavier than the death adder v3 pro and the viper v2 pro but it feels incredibly well balanced. If I grab it with just two fingers right in the middle of the mouse it is absolutely balanced, More so than most mouse’s I’ve tried, I think the main thing is this new Viper V3 shape, it’s incredible. IMO it’s the best shape I’ve ever tried. And the side buttons are the best I’ve ever had on a mouse period. The way they are spaced and how far they stick out is just incredible. I bought this mouse KNOWING I was going to be disappointed and knew I was going to return it before ever actually trying it, and after I used it I’m actually pleasantly surprised a “mid tier” budget wireless mouse could be this good. The switches also feel incredibly satisfying. I prefer their feel over the optical mechanical switches in the V2 pro and V3 death adder pro. Came into this super skeptical and was harping on it all day long. And now I’m having a hard time taking it off my desk after using it! To anyone who’s skeptical, please just try it. Either with the lithium AA or even go with the AAA battery mod to make it stupid light. It’s A Fantastic mouse. And I’m not ashamed to say it. lol. Just one’s humble opinion! PS; it is possible it could feel slightly back heavy with the included regular Alkaline AA battery. But with the Lithium AA or a mod with the AAA lithium battery it’s is extremely balanced. I barely used it with the included Alkaline AA as it was a bit too heavy for my liking with that battery, so I can’t speak to the way it really truly feels without a lithium battery I definitely feel like it was intended to be used with a lithium battery but to cut down on the price razer just ships it with a standard alkaline. Hopes this helps anyone on the fence about this mouse! Take care everyone!
I picked one of these up, swapping the included alkaline for a lighter lithium battery is absolutely necessary. The weight balance with an alkaline is just wrong. Put a AA Energizer lithium in it, far better. I'm enjoying it but the point about the weight being bottom heavy in the review I agree with, with the alkaline, it's almost unusable for competitive shooters but drop a lighter lithium in, it's very nice.
razer knows what ppl want, and they release something no one asked for. a couple times now. they botched the viper mini wireless anticipation real bad. they took a mouse that was primarily popular for being cheap, good shape and weight none the less, but pricing made it very appealing, and they made a 300 dollar wireless version that launches in drops. my only guess is the enthusiast level users dont account for nearly as much as the mainstream user. and lightweight good mice, arent their focus, because an unfertilized egg could have told you exactly what the community wanted from them.
Im a big fan of the forward sensor placement, after I got used to the mouse I for sure aim better. Took a chance getting this mouse because i have never been a big fan of Razer products, but this thing is awesome for the price. I put a AAA Battery with a conversion sleeve in it to get the weight down as low as possible. Great video Techne!
Looking at the shape and how it rests in your lower palm, I think I'll like to make this my main since I'm also looking at something similar. My question is how does it compare to the G304/305 (I don't know the difference of these names other than country sold), the G303 Shroud or the Asus TUF M4 Wireless/ Asus Harpe Aim size wise? These are few mice I'm wondering for mixed claw grip style. Heck I'm even wondering if it's better than the Cobra Pro. This was a great insight of this new product.

Is it me or is Razer product not that durable? All of my Razer mice died after a year, I have a Razer Viper Ultimate and a Razer Orochi. Razer warranty is a pain to do, takes forever to process. Currently, using Logitech G305 shroud edition, absolutely love it.
The Dave appears to be close to Mamba moreso than DA but since Mamba was never that popular to begin with, Razer capitalized on already established name, such a shame. As for the Viper V3, i understand the decision of not having AAA slot this time around since there were many flaws with the Orochi when it comes to structural integrity and tolerances but i wish they would provided customers with AAA adapter out of the box since most wouldn't have one laying around and Razer are already saving up from providing a cheap AA battery this time around rather than Lithium one as they did with the Orochi. Like, come on, in such bulk it'd cost them 0.10$ or something.

Razer's been bad on naming their products for some time now. I have an Ornata v3, which is a clear downgrade to the v2 and can be seen from the pricing as well (v2 was $100, v3 is $60). For the new Deathadders and Vipers to come along though; I'm seeing Razer breaking away from that "✨RGB gaming products✨" brand image to a more professional one and I think this "more professional" approach explains the design changes on their two main mice lineups. I honestly appreciate the change; I still liked the older DA and the Viper but the newer ones look very simplistic and more focused on their purpose. I wouldn't wanna see thousands of different names for products with every single design change. "Viper" for their ambi mouse and "Deathadder" for their ergo works for me. I'm wondering how the Viper V3 Pro will be like now. I only wish Razer was a bit more open-minded in offering different sizes but still, I think they're going in the right direction.
I've been researching what I'm gonna get for my new mouse. I'm still on my first ever gaming mouse (Standard Razer viper wired) been using it for a little over 3 years and I'm trying to get a new mouse that fits my hand a little better and get a more controlled feeling out of it. The viper is a little too thin side to side for my preference and wish it was slightly more round on the top but besides that the size is fine. I use claw grip and was thinking about the deathadder v3 Pro but I'm not very sure. Anyone got any suggestions?
I have the g pro x super light and it has been pretty great, the sensor feels average but the clicks I love, and the shape is really nice. Also I have viper 8k wired, the sensor is amazing on it but it’s way heavier that my Logitech. The shape and the viper 8k I don’t like though, it feels super flat. I think I’m gonna upgrade to the death adder v3 pro wired. The death adder v3 pro is like 30 grams lighter than the viper 8k and the shape is better so it’s a no brainer for me. A lot of people say they can’t tell a difference from 1khz to 8khz polling but I can feel a massive difference oping in valorant (I play on 360fps/360hz so that also helps)
Techne, I got an idea for you, why not do some new reviews of "Budget" mice, and put Razer & Logitech aside for a little while. lol I found a new Budget mouse that looks fantastic, its called the Darmoshark M3s, the "Varun". It is NOT the original M3, but a slightly smaller one (hence "s") that is more like an Atlantis mouse. It looks like a real BANGER, and for cheap (2k wireless for $50)! I haven't bought it yet, waiting for REVIEWS! REVIEW IT FIRST TECHNE! Beat the Ninja Rocketman and others to the punch. I listen to your reviews generally because I also have a large hand & like the ergos. I think its slightly ergo, but would appreciate your input before buying. Computer gaming stuff is kind of expensive these days!
It's not confusing, it's a great mouse, I want it. I wished for a deathadder ambi combo in the beginning. I've even said it on reddit. Insane they did it. Also it's not so light which I LOVE. I hate ultra low weight mices. 70 is fine at most.
Too many variants diff names specs pro this or that. Kill off what isnt selling and stick to something. How could this be a upgrade over a viper v2 pro? Makes no sense
So, no longer ambidextrous? Seems like a core feature of the Razer V2 is missing. The upside of this... I finally have a reason to shop for a new mouse brand and get rid of this abysmal Synapse software.
@@jegfriedrice It doesn't compete with any one mouse in particular, but it is a start. And I think it's a great thing to have happen. As the Asian market is putting pressure. @@robind8526 - I agree. The Asian companies have been getting more serious and have been incorporating some really nice sensors and features in their stuff. I've recently bought three RisoPhy A950's, one for each of my machines. Is it me or is Razer product not that durable? All of my Razer mice died after a year, I have a Razer Viper Ultimate and a Razer Orochi. Razer warranty is a pain to do, takes forever to process. Currently, using Logitech G305 shroud edition, absolutely love it.
what comes next the DeathCopperViper RGB PRO?
Would you recommend buying this (the viper v3), or the new Logitech G pro X superlight 2? I'm upgrading from a Pulsefire Haste
Matter the game and razer is killing logitech because of the specs. What do you play anyway?
@@CodeVenomSnakes I play stuff like fortnite, cod, rdr2, Tlou, mainly story games + fn and cod. The reason i wanna upgrade is due to the pulsefire haste being wired, and the bad sensor for fps games
Amazon has the viper v2 pro for $113 I would get that over both these mouse.
@@bruddah_ unfortunately I’m in the uk, so the V2 pro is the same price as the new G pro X super light 2. If I wanted the V3 I’d have to wait for it to release anyways. What about the original X super light? It’s currently on sale for £89 (around $100)
@@michalkrol5099 well if you looked at the reviews its basically the same mouse. for 89 id go with that over any of those you're listing tbh, its still a very good mouse.
Is this the Viadder or the Deathper ?
Lost me when you see a battery this day and age. 🤣 good review though mate.
Question what's the best wired headset right now?
I've watched so many videos I'm honestly confused now.
Next week 😉
Beyerdynamic mmx 300, no problem buddy.
@TheTechne, I'm super stoked. I've been watching all the videos. You're super awesome 👌 .
Arctis nova pro
@@helmutkohl6207 niemals. Hatte das mmx 300 und das nova pro, das sind welten.
techne can you review the steelseries aerox wireless mouse please?
Razer isn't even out of snake names to use for new shapes, they need to stop doing this.
😂 🐍
Hope there will be a pro model of this, cant stand batteries
yoooo, that looks TIGHT! how many kHertz we twalkin hea? oh no, loose drop in battery? they need to cut off the tips of the buttons to flush them with the end of the middle section. The difference between swiping the tip of your mouse into your keyboard and it catching vs a shorter smoother surface to glide by.
Comparing the shapes it looks like a slightly tapered gpx.
I can see that as well 👍
I've been researching what I'm gonna get for my new mouse.
Great review as always
70 is fine at most.
now we need a mini version
Since Cobras release I dont get their naming scheme.
Using 4K how long willl this battery last ????
Discussed in video
Too many variants diff names specs pro this or that. Kill off what isnt selling and stick to something. How could this be a upgrade over a viper v2 pro? Makes no sense
Death adders are true cobras despite the name same family of snakes.
Razer just goes "Yup, we dont like moneh~ so just take this new frankenstein mouse"
So, no longer ambidextrous? Seems like a core feature of the Razer V2 is missing.
The upside of this... I finally have a reason to shop for a new mouse brand and get rid of this abysmal Synapse software.
the battery cover looks very strange
Viper ultimate or viper v3?
I prefer v3
The weight 100% kills this for me. I was so hyped on the specs and price.. What a shame.
Just get a triple a battery converter and it drops it to 70g. Only 7g difference from the dav3
Mb u should go to gym ?
When did you get all the tats?!
Been adding to the collection
I would use this for office work, not gaming
This is to compete with a lot of the cheaper mice from the Chinese market.
How does it even stand to compete against something like the VGN Dragonfly F1, it just gets blown out the water
@@jegfriedrice It doesn't compete with any one mouse in particular, but it is a start. And I think it's a great thing to have happen. As the Asian market is putting pressure. On the big main stream companies. And in my opinion this release shows that. Let's hope Razer takes more action. And gives us a mini version on this mouse.
@@robind8526 - I agree. The Asian companies have been getting more serious and have been incorporating some really nice sensors and features in their stuff. I've recently bought three RisoPhy A950's, one for each of my machines. I ended up with 3 of them because the 1st one performed as well as any of the Razers I've had for a fraction of the price, and the battery life & charge time are both stellar, so now it's my main on all three of my PC's. Their software is less intrusive too. Right now Razer and Logitech are getting their asses handed to them by the Chinese companies in the mid tier segment when it comes to features and value.
so v3 > ultimate > v2 pro 10/10 naming system there
Yeaaaaah, I’m sticking with v2 pro
They could have changed the shape without changing the Viper aesthetic. I really don't understand.
It feels like a new guy is in charge at Razer and they just try idk something. The naming schemes just make no sense anymore at this point.
Thanks you Rock. :)
if the sensor wasn't so high i would've bought it tbh lol.
It’s not that bad actually. But I play on slow surfaces
Wtf with their branding... i thought it will be cobra, cobra pro and cobra superlight (like u know, full pack of small mices) but this is strange... it looks more like new symmetrical DA.
Deathadder 3 should be called mambadder
I just bought basilisk v3 x.. and now this
cool beard man
We're past due for a new Razer Mamba
LETS GO!! Give Razer some praise! Releasing new shapes with their tech is what the market needs. Yea they aren’t great at naming products, but wow. I did no know anything about this mouse. I will wait for the Pro version. Big W for Razer.
Will that be v4 or v5 😂
@@TheTechne you know the mouse everyone wants is the Razer Death Viper V4 Pro Ultimate Optical Ultra Lightweight Hyperspeed Mini Large X + The HyperPolling Wireless Dongle + HyperScroll Tilt Wheel. And don’t forget the chroma RGB 😂
i hate this new design. Its no longer a viper in my eyes
This mouse looks like it costs 0.45$ to make
A lot of Razer mice do. I have a viper mini and its great. I thought a viper v3 would follow the ways of the other vipers but i guess not
@@Gnawygot the first wired standart version. Best mouse i have ever had and if i ever change it i will def go for Viper ultimate v2 or v1. The design is just perfect for me
@@sabanadirashvili3447 the Viper Mini is pretty good but I’m thinking about upgrading to a Model O, D, or I at the end of the year. I’m not sure how much better the Viper Ultimate is over the Viper Mini but if you upgrade i would suggest at least looking into something that isn’t Razer. For a while i thought i would only use Logitech but when i tried the Viper Mini i was blown away by a different brand. Expanding you MBC (mouse brand catalog) is one of the best things you can do!
I mean… it just looks like a mouse
bro your lucky they dont call it rattlesnake, it will messes some more in your head haha
I’m a weirdo and like the Naga Pro…
Wait a minute!!! Its not April 1st!! Is it?
This is basically a cheap DA v3
Blackwidow V4 😏
I hate all wireless products
Is there wired version?
oh man a wired version of this would be great!
@@TheTechne sure and i will wait it
Brother my best mouse ever is razer naga pro its very fit for my hand and comfortable so pleasd what is like it shape?
Batteries?? Wtf. A step back.
this is in their “budget wireless” lineup of products and not the “pro” lineup
Hyperspeed versions of their mice use batteries
Removeable batteries is a good thing and bad thing. Pro is if the batteries have a problem you can pop off old batteries replace it with a new one. Con you need to keep buying batteries for the mouse.
definitely a step back for Razer, i use Viper Ult and i think it's one of the best mouse
The RVU was really a top tier mouse. Especially with dock.
No its not, its the same price but just a bit different shape
I think Razer is running out of snakes to name their mice after lol
Their naming schemes make NO sense now
Viper v2 pro and dav v3 pro had a child😂
Lol
razer is always considering players voice
