we don’t talk about this enough, this version of black swan, the choreography, the aesthetic, the dancers, the place, this mv is beautiful and deserve more views and recognition!
Blinkhere the message is that bts are afraid to lose their love of music, and therefore not able to continue through this path. The message just doesn’t apply to them tho, it can happen to anybody who has a passion for what they do.
the most grammy worthy song i've EVER heard. from the lyrics to the music to the raw PASSION and PAIN that drips from this song. got me feeling some things fr
Its as sound had a visual I can see the lyrics. I can feel every movement with them. I can see every lyric. It's like being able to hear color. Its beautiful
BTS releasing a song about how an artist losing his passion is worse than death in their 7th year in the industry shows how genuine their love for music is. This whole comeback clearly wasn't made with breaking records in mind (even if they did pull out mind-blowing numbers anyway), it was about celebrating art in its many forms. For the making of the album they worked with many different artists, the marching band of 'ON', the choir in 'Friends', and now this dance company. They released 'Black Swan' as a single a month before the album and this was the MV that was released first. I do think that they truly wanted to spotlight these amazing dancers. I also want to highlight something : they released 'ON Kinetic Manifesto' the day of the comeback, and a few days later they released the official MV of 'ON', not caring if it was going to impact the views on the first 'ON' video. And a few days later again they released another video for Black Swan. I want you to understand that this isn't normal, this isn't common to release 3 MVs during comeback week. They also released the 'Shadow' and 'Ego' MVs. They didn't care about the views or money or whatever, they only cared about their work and art. I think that it's quite amazing that they did this knowing that they wouldn't get as many views as usual. It doesn't surprise me though, after years with them I've witnessed many times how passionate they were for music. I'm so proud of them and I'm really learning a lot about music besides them. I just wish more people would recognize that they are far from your typical boy band or even typical artists. They do this out of passion, which is not that common nowadays in an industry run by money, clout and mediaplay. I'm hoping that their music will get the recognition it deserves and that they will also get credited as the amazing songwriters, producers, singers, rappers, dancers that they are.
I changed my mind about views in youtube. And I will learn not watch views in mv, and just relax? Ahaha And when armys said that we should reach 700m(? I dont remember but it was really high) and i was like I understand that you trying to show your love and etc but relax and enjoy music. We don't need break records, cause we are only one who can break them in the world💜
This was one of the most extraordinary moments in BTS' career, and it was game changing. No Kpop group had ever done anything like this, and it was glorious. I miss them and can't wait to see what else they have in store for us when they all get back safely from the military. Black Swan is a classic and this art film and their MV were both wonderful.
I am not an army, i just found this video but let me say it: This is a masterpiece. This dance performance gives us such a powerful message and the song is wonderful. Good job to the dancers and BTS.
I still can’t believe BTS musical diversity and their level of artistry. They’re so complex. They don’t treat the music industry as a way of making money, they don’t try to release music just for the sake of releasing. Each song and lyric that is shown in front of their listeners/viewers is so well prepared, picked up with such a meticulous care. You can hear and feel their love for the music. Discovering their music is such an interesting ride. You don’t get bored at all with their sound and story. I wish more people could give them a real chance and listen closely to what BTS wants to delivers to the entire world.
the sea that they wished for is now full of dark waves consuming them except they have the strength and the will to jump and never be dragged again. this song speaks to me on a personal level and I must admit I have been crying all day but in the most cathartic way. if you listen with an open mind and expand yourself to the vast musical catalog of BTS's body of work you will find BTS are truly artists for healing and their attention to detail is remarkable.
can you please explain the song to me I truly dont get it. I'm trying so hard but i just cant understand it. I know you can put subtitles but i dont know the meaning of the song.
Brianna Castillo Well, I guess you don’t have a Twitter account, those @RMY$ come and explain every thing and all the theories are there, it’s very helpful for @RMY$! I will try to explain it as short as possible: in the beginning it says a dancer can go trough 2 deaths, the first one being the most painful one and that’s losing the passion for the thing they love the most. In B TS’s case, they talk how they fear of losing passion for music. The center dancer represents the swan, and the dancers in black the shadows. In the first they control him and they torture him, they don’t let him to fly, all the bad thoughts and the passion losing. Then feels like in a cage where again the shadow within fight him and they don’t let him to get free but in the end he menages to escape it! Later he even fights and accepts the shadows, he gets to control them in the end and they help him to fly this time! The swan represents BTS in their music career and how in the end they realizing that music represents them, music is within them, it’s all they have! They fought and accept their shadows allowing them to grow more as artists and continue to do what they love the most, music. I really hope you understand more of it
this isn’t music, it’s art. literal art. and it’s expressed really well with this version. it really expresses their fear for losing their passion in music. most artists would be more worried about their fame, but bts is different, and i find that so inspiring. i have the same fear with both music and acting so i can definitely relate. i thank them so hecking much for doing what they do.
It's been SEVEN years and they still put out surprising music that stays with you. I am so proud of you, BTS. Also, the dancers in this art film did an amazing job.
I always give this video a standing ovation because of how breath taking it is this is the best one yet because me as an artists felt this in my soul😭👏🏻
No other songs can beat THIS. I feel sorry for people who doesn't understand the magic behind this boy band. They truly one of a kind. Every time I listen to this, I feel some type of way. The dancers have portrayed the emotions so perfectly, the lyrics about the fear of losing passion for music and the song itself is a masterpiece. Now I understand why people think BTS isn't just a typical boy band, they're more than just handsome guys who can sing and dance, wear fancy clothes and colorful hair. This is some real musician stuff here. I hope people understand that BTS are where they are today is not because of their popularity but their love for music and what they do. The only thing their popularity did was to help getting recognized by the world. If only this song was released on the music platforms, this song would probably be the perfect candidate for SOTY.
You wrote such a masterpiece! I don't really understand why people always judge the picture before getting deeper. This group has such an insane popularity and loyal, hardworking and uncondicionally loving fans not only for their handsome faces and catchy dances. People must be more respectful and kind to others, because this undeserved hate that they give to those, who becomes a true remedy to millions around the world, is such a useless and unworthy timespending
@@ТимурГалаев-ч1в ikr.... and people refuse to listen to them, acknowledge their work and take them seriously because of the hate that's been surrounded.
"I'd rather die than live without passion." -Jungkook Black Swan is the struggle of losing the passion for music which is their shadow. However, in the end, accepting those shadows and overcoming them makes them fly. The song is so beautiful!
it is not an unpopular opinion, everyone agrees that black swan is bts best song (those who disagree are usually tasteless) now if only bh put this version on spotify it would be great
@@Rout_fams oh I get it, it would be underhype then, by the company too nnn Title tracks always get the most recognition and properly promote singles like dynamite. Black Swan could have being that song to locals
the dance is so powerful. MN Dance Company, thank you for giving such a phenomenal performance! It is super not easy and could be dangerous to performance in a venue like this with bear foot. somehow i still see little rocks on the floor. This performance, omg... it translate the message so well. the struggle, the resist, the change. At the end became like the king of the swan. I love it. This is beautiful.
I know right! I hope Big Hit releases the orchestra version someday. Maybe BTS could perform with this version. Ideally during the MOTS tour because I really want to hear it in a stadium, but I know that's definitely asking for too much lol
I think this “first death” applies to anyone who has lost their passion due to depression or something similar and the fact that BTS is able to capture the feeling of this in a single song is absolutely breathtaking
This is honestly one of the best arrangements. This is just ART Update: Do y'all imagine watching a performance like MMA 2020 in concert 🥺 I guess I'd die if that ever happens
No, but seriously, watching this again, and I cried. IDK just that I feel this song and performance, is not receiving the love and recognition it deserves. It's a masterpiece. I love it so much. I really do. I always tell my sisters, "Black Swan" is superior! That is just my humblest opinion. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Today marks one year since I discovered BTS, fell down the rabbit hole and became an ARMY. Finding hidden masterpieces like this video makes me really happy, realizing that BTS are 360° artists appreciated in all art fields, from people with different backgrounds and ages, this somehow makes me proud. I'm afraid, I'M IN THIS BANGTANSH*T FOR LIFE!!!!
This song portrays all the hardships that come with creating art. The fear of reaching a point where ur passion is gone and the moment where u rise from this struggle.
i can definitely relate, i did dance since i was 5 and i slowly lost interest in it even though my biggest dream was to be a professional dancer.i didn’t want to give it up cause it’s what i lived for but i also didn’t want to spend the rest of my life doing something i didn’t have passion for anymore. it truly is devastating having to move on from something you put your whole life and existence into. it’s a very hard choice to make. i bet a lot of people can relate to the song too plus it’s a bop 🤩
@@juno3281 definitely a bop/trap bts know how to keep us wanting more and yes the feeling that ur losing something you love so much and believed to be ur one true calling is scary. This album is going to be legendary
At first, the black swan was caged with their shadows. Then, they fight back the shadows and start to walk alone. But in the end, the shadows is the one who help the black swan to fly. The message is amazing.
It's such an incredible message! It makes me sad to think that a lot of people might watch this and not understand how deep and beautiful its meaning really is! 💜
People ask me why I love listening to BTS’s songs. This is why: I can feel the members emotions through every lyric, every note they sing. Those are their thoughts, what they go through right now. How can I not relate or appreciate this genuineness?
km same their music is so original and they are going through all of this and decide to put it into their music their music is interesting and intense it’s so addicting.
that is so trueeeeeeeeeeeee i love them so much for like everything. They are amazing at everything they do and they show us what they feel and express it through their performance💜💜💜💜
I used to be a dancer but I can't dance anymore because my arthritis makes it too painful and I'm currently getting evaluated for early onset Parkinson's Disease because I shake alot. Black Swan is heartbreaking because they hit the nail on the head, this is exactly what it feels like to not be able to do what made you passionate anymore. My 1st death truly was when I stopped dancing and honestly I don't think my next death will be as heart wrenching as grieving the person I was when I was enveloped in passion and love for dance.
I wish you nothing but peace, love, and healing moving forward, friend. It isn't quite the same, but due to mental health problems I've been unable to pursue my passions since around my early 20s. So I understand the pain of not being able to be the person I was when I had my passions. I hope we can both heal in time. 💜
For some reason, I really felt the song and the message there. I listened to the song a lot but now it hits me. Losing your thing, how terrifying and empty you feel although you can't do anything about it. I lost interest in my passion when I had my burnout and depression and I feel empty and changed from no longer being able to live it and spend time on it, dedicate my soul to it. It is an excruciating silence in your life....
Fact : This song and art film are the reason why I became a fan since, it triggered me. Those lyrics song made me realise what kind of artist they are. I had never heard something like this before ! Really
i hope people find them more the way you did, like through learning/seeing what they are as artist and musicians and not by idols who entertain others but not because of their music and talents. (i mean ofcourse their funny side personalities as individuals and as a group count too but they are much more than that💜)
"A dancer dies twice, once when he stops dancing and this death is the most painful." A beautiful and deep message, we must make this comeback the greatest that BTS has made!
Im not going to lie,i love the orchestral version of black swan alot better then the other one. This version really captures the beauty and sadness of the song, and i really wish they would put this version on spotify.Anyway thanks for listening to my ted talk.
It's been over 3 years since this song came out and it still gives me goosebumps. Black Swan is truly such a unique song specific for creators and artists
As a dancer, i for sure can relate to what the dancers have illustrated for us. i’ve hit a point where i lost my passion for dance...i felt like it was this weight which i was forced to carry, and i hated it. after that dance season ended, i stopped competing, and started to not show up to classes to train. at first i felt free like the invisible weight was lifted off of me...but then i felt like i lost a part of me. i felt clueless on what i wanted to do besides studying...i kept debating “do i want to go back to dance” but the thought of “what’s the point if i don’t feel this fire anymore” kept pulling me back. I later went to this show that my friends were performing in, and when i saw them, they relit this fire, this motivation in me. i saw how passionate they are for their craft and that just hit something in me. it pushed me to come back to dance, and start training again. yes it was rough at first, but then i slowly started to enjoy it. this opportunity then opened up for me where i’d be on the dance team for this pro basketball team and i felt like this was my chance. while at auditions, i felt so motivated and kept pushing myself. the energy in the room was amazing too; people were hyping each other up, saying “ayeee” and “let’s goo!”. it made me feel good. i realized that this is why i loves dance. this is why i’ve stuck with it for so long. i later found out that i made the team and i felt so happy, so grateful...i felt like my hard work indeed paid off...after that i began to train more, and get back into competitions and conventions. dance now is not just a sport, an art, a hobby. it’s now my passion that i am extremely grateful for. my wings have begun to work with me and eventually lifted me from one of the darkest times in my life. thanks bts for doing this :)
Natalie Bondoc that's exactly how sometimes I feel and so many time I ask myself if I want to continue but I just can't let go and I'm happy doing my dream and passion. I'm a dancer too 💜
yeah! totally agree! there is so much more to talk about this song; "Black Swan" in terms of the "BTS" as musicians, singers, dancers, instrumentalists, producers, songwriters... this goes everything in it as a "7"... you can see how well they meticulously made everything. for references.. deep dive... here are legit, genuine, true musicians, dancers, and squad RV for this, and also their RV. So very true. This song original version and orchestra version moved me beyond my imagination. A lot more people need to hear Black Swan and also watch the performances.
As a musician, this song encapsulates what I feel every time I feel depression, anxiety and doubts about my own ability... It always left me at the brink of tears and let me breathe again, when I think my own love for music is dead. This holds a place so dear in my heart that feels unreal every time it lifts me up from the ground, before my body sinks into a bad depression and it keeps me going to pursue a music career despite the odds against me. _This_ song, is a masterpiece, shining with it's own light, like the moon itself.
I’m a musician too and I relate to you in a very spiritual level. This song express our emotions and our feelings in a very intimate and accurate way, I can feel my own fear of leaving the music expressed rawly in this song, it makes me feel so blue but at the same time it encourages me to work hard and make me feel how much I actually love music. Thanks BTS for making this masterpiece, it really helps us musicians.
Imagine bts performing this version of the song with a large orchestra in the back of them with a spotlight on each of them in a really dark room while they are dancing
The indistinguishable voices in the song show how all of the members are one, this album is about BTS, not just for ARMY but for themselves too. Their love for creating music and art yet their fear for losing such passion is portrayed beautifully. Lets keep on supporting our boys and show love to the dancers. Stay healthy ARMY.
@@vmyhope4683 yeah the way tuned in live performance and over used of backing vocals bs just like those pop sht artist nowadays . this girl is a good dancers yeah i agree but their songs are straight trash
The lyrics really hit me. Whenever someone loses this thing they love so dearly, be it dancing, music, art or even things far from the traditional idea of art such as science and cooking, a piece of them dies and fades away. No matter what method leads to this loss (aging, losing popularity, injuries, financial issues etc), the hurt is the same- still so enormous that one feels swallowed up in a dark hole. And this could happen any second. My interpretation of the message is that knowing the importance of our passion, it is totally understandable that we fear losing it. But we should not stop pursuing our passion, because by doing so, we immediately cause its death, and thus the death of a part of us. Thank you BTS for such insightful lyrics in a beautiful song and thank you MN dancers for depicting this feeling physically and with lots of emotion. Wow, BTS never fails to impress us.
This is how I feel until now, when I worked so hard to become a nurse, got my diploma, and passed the licensure exam but look where I am now. I can't even use my nursing experience here in a foreign country. I have to let go of my passion, and now a caregiver. I'm not saying being a caregiver is a bad thing but my first and last love is being a nurse and it made me depressed that I don't have a way to continuing doing what I love to do (my first death, so to speak). So, yeah, I was crying watching this video and can relate so much.
The song and performance bring tears to my eyes. The emotional struggle of trying to break free then finally embracing the darkness is so moving and the lyrics hurt. The fear the guys feel in the possibility that one day it won't be enough is scary. Another amazing song to add to the list of songs that move me in ways no other artist's music ever has and I don't even speak the native language. Music truly does break all boundaries.
@@YukashiRK yes its completely fine. We support people who don't like their music after all its their choice but we don't like the antis who just hate on bts for no reason
This really speaks, an artist’s passion is their whole life, finding success in that passion and then losing it- that’s a double killer. Absolutely nothing else could hurt more
I _ugly cry_ EVERYTIME I watch this choreography. The _symbology!!!_ , the hurt, the frustration, the fight, the struggle, the lie of freedom aaaaahhhhh I LOVE _everything_ about this MV.
" a dancer dies twice -- once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful" wow this song has such a deep message and seing that in this mv it isn't BTS dancing and namjoon's verse where he says " if this can no longer resonate, no longer make my heart vibrate; then like this may be how I die my first death, But what if the moment is right now," the lyrics are so deep and as an artist, I do understand these feeling where we can easily lose apart of ourself and it can be hard... but that's just my interpretation of it. its truly so beautiful and thank you bts!! be happy army! stream this masterpiece!!!
The first half of the lyrics really got me. As someone who's been struggling with depression for years, when I'm at my lowest, it's truly scary the feeling of falling out of love for the things that used to make you happy. Suddenly, nothing seems to matter and you feel like your whole existence has no purpose. There's just this numbness. Fortunately, the song ends on a high note with a comforting sense of hope. Like Yoongi said in the intro, he's the shadow and the shadow is him. And he won't let it break him.
I mean The fear of losing passion for music by practising nonstop, and becoming obsessed with music (because of fame) its really a big shout out to what bang pd said of treating their artists as humans before as artists, and with what the kpop industry is facing.. (sulli, go hara, jonghyun... and twice that are working nonstop) I think this comeback has the most meaningful meaning.
I'm glad they're communicating this through their music. Some people don't realize they are just people like the rest of us. I'm excited for this comeback. (・v・)
So true, you put it so accurately. It is not money(although that's very good) it's their craft that's important to them.... I have never appreciate any artists like I do these artists and they are still young. I so 💜 them
@@yolodannyiny3263 well (at least from my perspective) many artists start out passionate and love the work they create. They do it for the art, the getting thier voice out,not the fame. The fame is collected along the way. And after a certian point they slowly pump out content just to stay famous,to stay relevant. Especially when they reach BTS's point. (Multimillionaires) The fact that BTS is saying they wish to forever love what they do, produce words of passion and Feeling. It shows that there is more than just "I wanna be famous"(basically the lines Yoongi state in Shadow) they want to continue being in love with music, dance, etc etc. I think this is what the op was saying but again this is my interpretation of the video as well as this comment. I hope this made sense for you as my wording can become confusing (so confusing I confuse my own self half the time😂)
I wish with all of my heart that this wasn't so underrated. Honestly this should have been a title track. The eerily poignant orchestral part, the haunting coreography and the vocals are just heart wrenching. As a violinist I can't help but think that this is my fears given a voice and wings
I cry every time I watch this video. It is terrifying to me, the lyrics talk about a death in everything but body. My biggest fear, to lose all motivation and will to live, to be completely numb and lost. This is their best song, it makes me so afraid, I can only stare and listen to it.
well it would've been the title track for shadow and then the next album was gonna be ego with on, but it got delayed or something like that so they decided to put everything together
During this comeback, we don’t see them as their stage names as we used to. This time they truly show their faces as an actual person and not as what they try to perceive as.
We truly are so lucky to be born on the same generation as BTS, to be alive while they are alive and active so we can witness all of this as it happens... Being able to be their fan is an honor
I have been saying this for a few years. It must be what people felt like when they met Mozart or Beethoven; being on the same planet as these brilliant young men has made me a happier person.
Dear black swan: My immortal queen, you have done so much for bts's discography. One day we will make justice and the world will know how much you shine. Love you forever
I appreciate that BTS and Big Hit promoted this STUNNING dance rendition of Black Swan before their own dance video. It displays their deep respect for art and dance even when it doesn't highlight the boys themselves. Great demonstration of humility. One of the reasons why I adore BTS. Bravo!
@@btsstuffs3058 i like the other version but this is just so much more emotional and expresses the lyrics so well and the choreo depicts the message of the song effortlessly
this isn’t just music. this is art. edit: i know that all music is art, but i really wanted to specify this in this case because, let’s be honest, some music in these past years tbh i don’t even define it music. when you start to care more about making a hit instead of doing it for the love of music, it’s when you lose music and your passion.
sigo sin entender por qué 'black swan' es tan infravalorada siendo una canción increíble que muestra facetas magníficas. literal, de toda la discografía de los chicos, está es como un abrazo al corazón.
I love how BTS did this just for ART and not to be mainstream. Because as you can see, most people won't even understand what kind of masterpiece is this video. This version of Black Swan is another level too. Strings are heavenly. Dancers did such an amazing job to deliver all emotions in this song, i'm really impressed. Contemporary dance is such a hard thing to understand but honestly i am glad that they chose to share this with us. Choreo is literally conveying a whole story. The story of artists who are afraid to lose their passion for art but ironically they know that only thing they have is art itself so they try to accept the fact that they always gonna live with these fears but they'll still continue to do their 'thang'. They're so brave for sharing their dark side with us. I respect them so much. This is beyond from just a song. With Art Film, with song itself, BTS did ART here. BTS is using their power to spread the art around the world. I couldn't be more prouder of them..
Here's a tidbit, string instruments are almost always used for horror film soundtracks. In the film Psycho, the composer exclusively used strings to represent mental strain. Joker also uses this trope as well, using deep cello's in his icnoic bathroom dance scene. I find it appropriate for them to be using these to especially when it comes to the context of the song.
Whenever I think Bts has reached their limits, they will not be able to do better than what they have done. But each time they show me the opposite, they are really talented and touch on all areas. I’m very proud to support them 💜
a year ago today, black swan was released. a song that tackles about an artist's fear of losing passion for doing a thing that once made their hearts race-music. an achingly beautiful masterpiece. and somehow, it deeply resonates with some of us because a few us might've already experienced our own "first death" where we lose our passion to the things we once loved doing. this is really a pure artistry and a proof that bts really values their craft to the point that they're not afraid of talking about their fear of loosing their passion.
i've had my first death and it is really painful. my biggest dream was to be an animator, but due to some circumstances, i wasnt able to pursue it and got into a different path instead, i was so discouraged that im slowly losing passion.... i cant say that i have moved on already because whenever it is brought up or i remember it, i feel like my insides are tearing, very painful, i feel like crying...

It feels like the shirtless dancer is battling his “shadows”, the dancers in black clothing. Especially at the end where the “shadows” copy his movements, symbolising how he’s conquered them and they no longer control him and the video ends with him soaring above them. The choreography definitely encapsulates the whole message of Shadow.
To me, the dance feels like a version of The Ugly Duckling. I grew up with a book about ballet called Presenting Tanya: The Ugly Duckling and SO many pieces of the choreography are similar. The dancers are his siblings pecking at him, the dancers putting their feet on him are the village people making fun of him, the lazer cage is the ice he has to escape during winter, Etc. I was surprised that they look so similar, but I like it.
Magnae Rose The choreography definitely does give the impression of wanting to conquer your demons, or the negativity in your life. I think that message is very universal and apparent in many other forms of art; in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if this choreography was an allusion to that.
I'm not army but seriously this is the best BTS song. This version is beautiful, hits u in the soul and u can feel it in ur bones. IS AMAZING! I cried the first time that I hear it.

While other artists care of how to win more fans, more money, more famous; BTS care of not losing their passion for music and for not losing their essent in their message. I love them so much.

It really feels like your dead when you start to feel like you're losing your passion and when you stop feeling the hope. But you know what? That passion comes back once we overcome the battles within ourselves. And that's the best feeling ever. "I'd rather die than living life without passion." - Jungkook I remember these words from him. He said this during their rookie days. THEY for once lost it and came back having that same passion and HERE IT IS NOW. Their passion that came back made Map Of the Soul.... made these masterpieces telling their story.
@@KeelyJalissa Let's not deny it... they're already singing it to us. They will not write this if they haven't gone through this. I also felt the same. And remember what they shared in 2018? About the pressure and that they talked about disbandment? I feel like it has something to do with that. But you know what's great? The fire and love is still there that's why the didn't give up and came back stronger, which also stated in the middle of the song... they refuse to lose it. Their story will inspire many artists :))
Even Bts is not there in this video but still I can feel all the pain they go through and now they are a strong pillar standing straight and ruling the word with their talents. That is really touching that at last they made their pain as their feathers to fly high in the sky . *I'M CRYING*
BTS has transcended KPOP. They are now not only immersed and experimenting with music of all genres but also, exploring and experimenting with Art of different fields. They're truly redefining what it means to be an 'Artist'. It is hard to believe that this piece of art has only 37 million views. For a BTS MV is so low. Black Swan is ahead of his time.
That's really true, sad this MV's not recognised much

What is the message?
L
Blinkhere the message is that bts are afraid to lose their love of music, and therefore not able to continue through this path. The message just doesn’t apply to them tho, it can happen to anybody who has a passion for what they do.

I'm hoping that their music will get the recognition it deserves and that they will also get credited as the amazing songwriters, producers, singers, rappers, dancers that they are.
this comment deserves way more likes
Omgg!!!!💜💜💜
I changed my mind about views in youtube. And I will learn not watch views in mv, and just relax? Ahaha
And when armys said that we should reach 700m(? I dont remember but it was really high) and i was like
I understand that you trying to show your love and etc but relax and enjoy music. We don't need break records, cause we are only one who can break them in the world💜

This was one of the most extraordinary moments in BTS' career, and it was game changing. No Kpop group had ever done anything like this, and it was glorious.
Absolutely right... One of the biggest reasons I became an Army
I hope that by ‘BTS’ you meant the whole creative team included. 😊
Well said !
Bighit and bts' artistry👌
Absolutely
this version of black swan is seriously the peak of bts's artistry! this was so surreal and it is still as impactful as ever!
the sea that they wished for is now full of dark waves consuming them except they have the strength and the will to jump and never be dragged again. this song speaks to me on a personal level and I must admit I have been crying all day but in the most cathartic way. if you listen with an open mind and expand yourself to the vast musical catalog of BTS's body of work you will find BTS are truly artists for healing and their attention to detail is remarkable.
can you please explain the song to me I truly dont get it.
I'm trying so hard but i just cant understand it. I know you can put subtitles but i dont know the meaning of the song.
couldn't of said it any better
I really hope you understand more of it
A totally agree with you well said

this isn’t music, it’s art. literal art. and it’s expressed really well with this version. it really expresses their fear for losing their passion in music. most artists would be more worried about their fame, but bts is different, and i find that so inspiring. i have the same fear with both music and acting so i can definitely relate. i thank them so hecking much for doing what they do.

What about the dancers
Agreed

Mind blowing
We found worst than art block : lost of passion and interest
i can definitely relate, i did dance since i was 5 and i slowly lost interest in it even though my biggest dream was to be a professional dancer.i didn’t want to give it up cause it’s what i lived for but i also didn’t want to spend the rest of my life doing something i didn’t have passion for anymore. it truly is devastating having to move on from something you put your whole life and existence into. it’s a very hard choice to make. i bet a lot of people can relate to the song too plus it’s a bop 🤩

Okay but like let’s take a moment to appreciate the dancers. They did amazing and made me feel the meaning of the song deeply
Wishing you massive strength. Sending you light.
I don't know what else to say, except sending all the strength your way
As a dancer, reading this hurt me. I am deeply sorry and wish you all the strength and passion in the world.
I pray for your complete recovery, healing, and health! Lots of love, strength, and light to you!
Hugs 🫂 I hope you ate finding your way back🥰💜

As a musician, this song encapsulates what I feel every time I feel depression, anxiety and doubts about my own ability... It always left me at the brink of tears and let me breathe again, when I think my own love for music is dead.

The song "Black Swan" is truly a masterpiece forever.
" Not just a song This is an emotion an artists inner voice. "
I agree. It was a beautiful message
So, yeah, I was crying watching this video and can relate so much.
let's take a moment to also appreciate the dancers; the dance expressed every emotion so clearly and in a way that it delivered the message fully
I agree the facial expressions were excelent and the dance was pure and clean 👌♥️:3

After this masterpiece I don't understand how people can hate BTS' music.
They don’t really hate BTS , they just can’t be like them 🤩🤩
people just want every excuse to be xenophobic
I just don’t like they’re music it doesn’t sound that good in my opinion. I have nothing against the seven of them though.

So BTS don’t find passion in music anymore?!
Kimberly Vergara Yes exactly!!! So beautiful!!

Exactly what i wanted to say
The first half of the lyrics really got me. As someone who's been struggling with depression for years, when I'm at my lowest, it's truly scary the feeling of falling out of love for the things that used to make you happy. Suddenly, nothing seems to matter and you feel like your whole existence has no purpose. There's just this numbness. Fortunately, the song ends on a high note with a comforting sense of hope. Like Yoongi said in the intro, he's the shadow and the shadow is him. And he won't let it break him.

This is MAJESTIC. This is why BTS is different.

The fear of losing passion for music by practising nonstop, and becoming obsessed with music (because of fame) its really a big shout out to what bang pd said of treating their artists as humans before as artists, and with what the kpop industry is facing.. (sulli, go hara, jonghyun... and twice that are working nonstop) I think this comeback has the most meaningful meaning.
True. You are a human with passion and feelings that had chosen to express it through art. BTS really is that goat.

The fact that they're scared of losing their passion not their fame says A LOT tbh
What do you mean?
Josedavid Maltos it’s means that their art is more important to them than how successful they are. It’s part of their identity

I wish with all of my heart that this wasn't so underrated. Honestly this should have been a title track. The eerily poignant orchestral part, the haunting coreography and the vocals are just heart wrenching. As a violinist I can't help but think that this is my fears given a voice and wings
YES this shouldve been the original track :\
My fears given a voice and wings that's exactly the way I feel with this song
I cry every time I watch this video. It is terrifying to me, the lyrics talk about a death in everything but body. My biggest fear, to lose all motivation and will to live, to be completely numb and lost. This is their best song, it makes me so afraid, I can only stare and listen to it.
well it would've been the title track for shadow and then the next album was gonna be ego with on, but it got delayed or something like that so they decided to put everything together

I can resonate with this. How I am loosing passion for things I once loved doing 😭
right On.....................................pat
That is the best part of BTS
i've had my first death and it is really painful. my biggest dream was to be an animator, but due to some circumstances, i wasnt able to pursue it and got into a different path instead, i was so discouraged that im slowly losing passion.... i cant say that i have moved on already because whenever it is brought up or i remember it, i feel like my insides are tearing, very painful, i feel like crying...
@@ai-tn5wd don't give up. Life has a way of moving on and it helps if we can move with it. New things and people will come into your life to inspire you and re awaken your creativity. You are alive and if all your senses are working you will in time respond. You are going through a loss so allow yourself to grieve and feel it and one day you will respond and say you need to feel again and something in you will reach for another beginning...Let it happen and it will come to you. Don't give up...just keep moving forward.... pat
this version of black swan will always be iconic
It feels like the shirtless dancer is battling his “shadows”, the dancers in black clothing. Especially at the end where the “shadows” copy his movements, symbolising how he’s conquered them and they no longer control him and the video ends with him soaring above them. The choreography definitely encapsulates the whole message of Shadow.
I do saw it like that.. 😢
That's how I exactly explained it Yesss
To me, the dance feels like a version of The Ugly Duckling. I grew up with a book about ballet called Presenting Tanya: The Ugly Duckling and SO many pieces of the choreography are similar. The dancers are his siblings pecking at him, the dancers putting their feet on him are the village people making fun of him, the lazer cage is the ice he has to escape during winter, Etc. I was surprised that they look so similar, but I like it.
Magnae Rose The choreography definitely does give the impression of wanting to conquer your demons, or the negativity in your life. I think that message is very universal and apparent in many other forms of art; in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if this choreography was an allusion to that.
yes JUST YES
