First of all it might be just me but if you listen closely to the whole song, it kinda sounds like a life cycle with the way the song progresses again it may just be me, Give it a try.
the arabian style into the eletronic background is impressive. Snake man remix from MM3 will never be the same again. Disco Dan....THE LEGEND!!!

Overall, the music tone is awesome. It doesn't sound extremely different from the original, not like an orchestra or a huge symphony. Its much like the original 8-bit feel, however the the intro is quite long.
That intro reminds me of Cowboy Bebop
