  • In this video, we'll learn how to paint some incredible details on the weapons for your 1/35 scale model figures! The devil is in the details, as they say… so be sure to spend time on your figures' weapons & really make those details pop!
For today's demo, we'll check out this fantastic Tamiya 1/35 scale Sturmgewehr 44, or StG 44 (or even MP-44!), the very first practical assault rifle ever used in combat. Featuring an intermediate 8mm Kurz cartridge, select-fire options & a substantially-improved rate-of-fire compared to the main German battle rifles of the day, the StG 44 proved to be a highly-effective & sought-after weapon by German troops & Allied souvenir hunters.

After 20 figures with Passion Models photo etched wrapon straps, I found the devil. It was in the details.

Awesome work Hank! I noticed you left the rifle on the sprue, great idea. Thank you for sharing your work. BTW, I just picked up those American soldiers by Tamiya.

OK Hank, I've just starting to watch your channel and have come to the conclusion that if I'm going to start modeling, I'm going to need precision tools. Really good sprue nippers, good needle nose pliers, etc. any recommendations? I'm sure, you haver your favorites that don't cost a fortune. Please help me out here., thanks.

I've seen so many otherwise nice figures ruined by lousy, generic weapons. Garands seem to be the worst offender due to their relative size.

I've got a video on painting Garands! Agreed - it can be a tough one to get right: ua-cam.com/video/G-msLtMoHwg/v-deo.htmlsi=X_eU-VdCWMl6e5ip 👍
