He writes and composes all of their songs and YG producers don’t have them come in to record guides because they don’t work with AKMU’s sound. YG even talks about reluctance managing them because they aren’t like his other artists so he lets them be kind of freeform. Without Chanhyuk, he probably doesn’t feel confident that he can promote Suhyun as a solo artist. She’s not the same type of idol as the girls in Blackpink. Neither is Lee Hi. They’re idols leaning more towards the general category of vocalist and that’s something YG keeps trying to tackle but never actually figured out. AKMU will probably come back pretty soon after he gets back in the summer though. Since the selection process isn’t as hard for them, they pretty much begin to record MVs as soon as their music is recorded and Chanhyuk said before he departed that their next album was almost complete.

Kim Yuna from that band has amazing solo songs. Also Crying Nut if you like Ska/ Alternative rock. Nowadays Akmu seems quite legit but I don't know them super well.
