Thats because the series didn't have as many games... also because AC2 and Brotherhood actually felt like good games. Revelations was okay, but in AC3 the shit hit the fan and the series hasn't felt the same since
I actually liked Brotherhood. Revelations not so much.. Dat den defense.. Ever since the original creator of AC left(which was during the development of Brotherhood), AC has slowly been moving away from how the game is supposed to be. Although it feels like Unity is going back to its roots.
because Brotherhood and Revelations weren't just re-skins of AC II. they came out with plenty of new stuff, like new killing mechanics, new animations, better graphics, new UI and such.
i dont care about how this is like ac4 because ac4 was good and i think the reason people didnt care tat ac2 was the same as ac1 is becaus it added missions and more weapons and people dont care that acb and ac revelations are like ac2 because you still play as ezio so it should be the same
I may be a little bias but I think you guys should just buy Assassin's Creed 3...definitely the best in the series...and that Connor guy, wow he's a hunk. Am I right or am I right?
why is everyone in the comments hating, i played this game 8 years after release and its one of the top 3 ac games for me, and its activities are different that ac4, and it has a really unique twist on the series
I'm a big Assassin's Creed fan and I have to say that it breaks my heart that we have to go against Assassins. I know it makes it a different style but still. I wish I had next-gen so I can get Unity.
JohnBoyzZ its called linked accounts through uplay dumbass i got 3 different ports all have my previous ac games on record and i always get loyalty rewards no matter what system...dummy head
... I must say that I would really enjoy to play as a Templar. But, man, that framerate. And those animations. Some of the animations are so dull and unpolished that they break the immersion to me. No knockback when shooting with a rifle? And those combat finishers...? What is this Ubisoft? Is this made by college students or something? It must be a joke..
Justin DeRoo-Kent I agree that they can make some improvements. But it's only a few months away, and while the framerate can be stabilized a bit more, they can't do any major change to the animations.
TenebrarumVires I really hope that some improvements will be made, playing as a Templar seems great, we have the occasion to have a Haytham cameo, + it seems to be placed in some nice locations.... And available on 360/ps3 no less...
EA uh, I don't think you've played most of the series then, because if you have you would know that AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations were pretty much like this, reusing old animations. only adding in enough to make things a bit different. What do you expect? A whole new engine to be made for a single game on Last Gen Systems?
Yeah that is what it is! Ubisoft probably thought that the last gen players will buy it but they will have probably already played ac4 and not play this
Looks like Black Flag 1.5 actually. Environmental bits reused all over the place, and it looks like most of the new tools are just re-skinned for the era. Well, I guess if you want more of the same with only a bit of advancement, it's worth a play. But if I get an Assassin's Creed this year, it'll be Unity.
I understand the stupidity of city guards in all the AC games.... but assassin hideouts?? You would think that they'd want to kill a Templar who's messing their base up.... instead of tackling him... TWICE
matt p Now an excuse could be that this Assassin isn't as skilled, but no matter what an Assassin wouldn't run away like that. Now if he was running to trap Patrick then maybe but he just runs in circles..
Zero Regen The people shay was fighting weren't full assassin's. If you listen to the commentary, it's a gang hideout. The gangs are with the assassin's, and some may be trained, but with them being criminals and privateers they would most likely struggle to learn the Assassin methods, and would fall back to primal instincts that asssassin's will be taught to fight against.
Zero Regen I get what CNRSyndicate is saying.... but honestly -- I don't think pirates and gangs would see an appeal to the Assassin order. Maybe the game shows a bad side of the Assassins that aren't exactly true to the cause? Maybe??? Idk, I hope Ubisoft knows what they're doing... because this doesn't seem to mesh with how things work in the AC universe. I'm trying to be hopeful though
*sarcastically* Oh no, the gameplay is the same as in Black Flag. it's not as though Assassin's Creed did a copy and paste before. *Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations come up* THEY DID! 4 F*&KING TIMES! STOP YOUR COMPLAINING!!!
Just fucking shut up ACB and ACR were not copy and pastes. The only thing that is new in this game is the fact you play as a templar in the arctic and north America.
Those games came out in 2011 and earlier, technology has advanced they shouldn't be this lazy. And on top of that AC2,ACB, and ACR was the same character so I'm gonna expect the fighting style to be the same. (Although AC1, and Ac2 were different, and AC2 and ACB were different also) Like come on dude. This guy has ALL of Edwards animations, AND his fighting style. Wtf? The only reason why I'm gonna buy this game is cause it's gonna explain a part of Haythams life that was never explained. Literally the only reason. Maybe cause of Shay's story as well, but the gameplay is crap.
Its not that people are annoyed that you said AC1, AC2, ACB and ACR are copy and paste games (your opinion) but its the fact you are too stupid enough to look at those games and what they really are and call them a copy and paste when we have shit like COD and resident evil.
I really don't get why everybody is so annoyed with this. This game looks amazing! And I bet it's gonna look even better when it comes out. I'm also quite excited with the prospect of fighting along side the Templars. For the entire series it's always been stated that they are the 'enemy'. It'll be interesting to see the AC world from a Templar's perspective. Maybe it'll make things a lot less black and white. Super excited for this! Unity and Rogue are gonna be EPIC!
Yeh, lol ive been a fan of Vali Cel Tradat (the sentinel) for a long time, that so that he is my favorite character in the whole of the AC franchise! Kinda similar to the new Shay, Assassin Turned Templar! Yeh, thats the inspiration for my name, cool to talk to you dude, and thanks! :)
The weirdest part of the game is that shay moves like edward, fights like edward and his ship commands are exactly the same as edward, word by word. Every move of his is the same as Kenway.
You have restored my faith in people (well, when it comes to people moaning about this game). People just see what they haven't/can't do, not what they have done to try and make a game for people who don't have next gen.
CNRSyndicate exactly. they took time for last and next gen. making this and unity. a lot of game developers dont do that. i give props to the developers
Honestly Apart from Bungie I think Ubisoft is the only game company who cares both about business and their fans. Plus they could make millions more from this than Unity (worked out that if everyone with last gen bought rogue, for Unity to keep up it would have to be around £/$500).
I don't care what everybody says, this is one of the best AC games ever made. I loved Rogue more than 3 and I think Rogue was waaay better than Black Flag.
Um... This is almost an exact carbon copy of AC 4. I mean come on, they added a little bit of extra content, slap a new skin on the main character and boom. AC Rouge.
Yeah they'll remaster it for current gen and PC, I'd be very shocked if they wouldn't! They'll make more money from the audience who traded in the old consoles for new ones (Like myself) and I'm a huge AC fan so it's unfortunate they didn't cross-release this game right away.
Professor Lemon then dont be suprised since when does an exclusive get remasted for other consols and next gen can suck it if they are expecting that no offence just stating whats on my mind
You shouldn't be using the eagle as symbol for templars. The eagle has always been a symbol of the assassins. Especially because the names "Altair" and "Ezio" can be translated to "Eagle"
Playing as a Templar is interesting. I certainly didn't expect them to go that direction. You can complain that this is basically Black Flag with some changes, but I think this will be a decent Assassin's Creed fix while I save up for a next gen system to play Unity.
I'm sorry Ubisoft but this just looks awful. It feels like because Unity was announced as only being available on the Xbox One, not the 360, the fans (myself included), had a massive go at Ubisoft, who then hastily threw this game together, without much care, just to please the fans who're remaining on the Xbox 360. The animations look bad, the graphics are poor and it's essentially Black Flag, with just a few lazy tweaks and changes here and there. I'm not going to buy this game.
Wow, there really is no pleasing anybody, is there? You yourself have admitted it. You bitched at Ubisoft because Unity is next-gen only and you wanted to play an Assassin's Creed game this year, and then when Ubisoft scrambles to make something for last-geners to play, you bitch and complain about what they offer you and say you're not going to buy it. I hate this entitled generation...
RespectedGamer72 ^ this...people these days are demanding for too many things. If u don't like AC, move on to another game. Simple. There is plenty of other games to choose from. Stop bitching u idiots.
RespectedGamer72...Well he wanted a goo game not a piece of crap man ok ? You are obviously blinded .They shouldn't have botherd to make it if it was going to be shittty like this .Insult all you want Itis the truce
Ok, I see the points you guys are making and yep, true, I am annoyed that Unity is only for next-gen and I am bitching at Ubisoft, but only because the product that they've given non-next-gen gamers instead, isn't up to the standards of their previous AC games. I think if they'd spent more time on the this game and not seemingly scrambled to bring it out along with Unity, it'd be good. However, it looks to be of a poorer quality than the previous AC games in nearly every aspect. Introducing new weapons, locations, characters, etc, doesn't make a new game good. I'll probably piss off a few people here but take COD for example; Each new COD game these days is essentially the same as the last one; it's not about renewing things - it's about improving them. I'm not saying this game is going to be shit, but I'm not saying it's going to be good either.
After giving some thought, I do have some wishes for Rogue, albeit late in development to even hope seeing any of these implemented. But who knows, maybe they are in the game... but anyway. I'd like to see some of these. 1) In British controlled land and seas, your notoriety never goes up. Since the Templars are said to be fighting with them / controlling them 2) You have inner circle Templar recruits that function similar to assassin recruits of AC3, except, better. 3) You can command nearby British conscripted troops to initiate attacks on any desired target, assassin, civilian, etc. 4) Change that UI and Shay's movements and animations, or else it will be an AC4 clone with a different name. 5) You can command nearby British ships to follow you in your skirmishes against enemy gang or French ships. But if you go too fast, then they'll stop following you, similar to hired help in previous games on land.. except you don't have to pay the British ships 6) I don't see why we need Templar Keys for a Templar armor. Narrative-wise, doesn't make sense. Unless, maybe you raid Kenway's hideout to loot his specific Templar armor... 7) Haytham is part of your inner circle Templar group that can assist you in battle. 8) Have VIP escort and counter-assassin missions where a local Templar asks you to protect him or her from assassins as the VIP goes from point A to B, or hunt an assassin before they hunt you or the VIP, and you can raise that assassin's wanted level if you mark him as target, and can send British troops after him.
Doubt it this is between AC4 and AC3 this is about what happen to the assassins in north America Haytham will be in it and probably Achilles but Connor hasn't been born yet during this time.
I also notice that the clothes that Shay uses in this game is the same clothes that you can unlock with the templar-keys in AC4. A little bit disapointed at Ubisoft for not even taking the time of making a new look/new clothes for Shay...
I think the AC after Unity should be set during the holocaust with Hitler as a Templar and you being a prior concentration camp dweller-turned assassin. I think that would make for a great game, anyone else?
Nah, i get the idea and its good, but it wouldn't be an assassin's creed game. An assassin wouldn't be good with so many guns and grenades and stuff, I mean no parkour, no stealth, anyway, i think your ideas are cool, but not for an AC game
Assassin's creed games are based on fact but tell a completely fictional story about that time and it's events. So maybe they could make Hitler change his mind about the Templars.
Hmm well I see your point. Okay argument ended. I completely agree with you that kids shouldn't play those games either. It would still be cool if they made an AC like that though.
This game is looking WAY more fun to play then Unity. By a long shot... they sad part is, it's on Last Gen. So after playing AC4 on a PS4. It's really sad to go backwards in experience. All those special effects and additions gone. So yeah, when's the Remaster of this coming out, lol.
Indeed unity is basically back to assassin basics regardless of the new gameplay changes while rogue has pretty much everything else. Plus ship combat whihc i utterly loved best naval bit in games ever
The Akron Hammer Awh yes, back to the same old same oh with Unity. But also back is another boring ass lead Assassin. Game play wise, Unity cannot even touch Rogue. Much like how AC4 crushed in open world game play. But hey, lets just enough 2 new games. As to each their own.
oh reviews such a trustworthy source NOT. This give us new perspective plus the naval combat remains. whihc you don't get in unity. Im not saying unity but since i played as haytham in ac3 assassins these days seem boring. Edward wasn't an assassin till the end of the game which made it interesting.
3:03 Everyone thought that the air rifle was going to be a normal rifle that kills enemies with bullets based on cutscene in the opening where shay was hunting down an assassin in the North Atlantic where he pulls out the rifle and kills the assassin with it but turns out in the game it was another blowdart weapon but a blowdart rifle
For those people who think this is shitty, wait for it to be released, this game is still in its early stages, and besides, this is a last gen console game.
man, they sholud fix the interface, the weaponry, naval system, and even the story, i dont think they could fix all of that in 2 months, they could delay it, but it would take at least a year to fix everything they have done in here, i would actually prefer to wait that year an hope the game comes as a new game, not an black flag 2.0, expecting unity although, looks like a great game
This has the potential of being like AC1. The gameplay and graphics aren't the greatest, but the story and charecters have the potential to be amazing.
Ezio is more of wiser assassin,he like to surround himself with books and knowledge .This are one of the reason i liked his character. He has full potential.
To all of you who say this game will fail worse than AC3 you need to rethink yourself for a second. 1. You are playing as a TEMPLAR for the whole game. 2. Ubisoft added all these little new attacks on ships that we never saw in AC3 and AC4. 3. We are in the 7 year war so that means we really are learning about a new historical event. AC3 we only got 2 sequences with the 7 year war so this in my opinion will make up for the fact we never got the full glimpse of the war. And 4. You most likely won't see Connor at all!!! We will probably see Haythem. I'm looking forward to seeing him and getting the full story of why he became a Templar. This game will conclude the Kenway saga.
I thought Ubisoft finally understood why we liked Ezio's games when I heard of Unity, but now I'm worried... I don't care that this looks like AC4, I play AC for the plot and seeing as my favorites were Brotherhood and Revelations (same everything except for plot and bombs) it's no problem. But give us a real assassin (no Edward!), a big city to get familiar with, and a thick, epic plot. That's what I want, and they're pushing it into the Templar in a boat game again...
barned agree with you, bought a ps4 a few days ago and also have my old ps3, i would like to play this for the storyline, but i will wait until reviews and thats the point when i will choose rather to buy it or not
thing is that pirates have no moral, also remember that you had great inagua in ac4, I thing the homestead in ac3 was better but also liked great inagua, I respect your oppinion, but seriously, i dont like 5 hour prologues and a main character that is so freaking silly, didnt liked ac3, although it was kind of enjoyable
To all those guys who apparently don't think for 5 seconds: They give us TWO new games in a year, so obviously not both of them feature complete new mechanics / settings and whatnot. Of course they focus more on the next Gen consoles because that is simply where the future lies. I am pretty sure there won't be another version for the PS3 / 360 next year so be happy that they did one this year so you can enjoy a new AC title even without owning a PS4 / XBOX One.
Oh boy, this sure doesn't look like AC4, looks like a brand new game, thanks ubisoft for putting so much effort into adding all these new game mechanics :)
You rude I bet that either he turn's us to the Templar side, or we turn him to the Temlar side in the game... I think it'd be cool if we turned him from assassin to Templar. Haytham and Shay were both Assassin's before joining the Templar's, right? o:
I always thought they should make an Assassins Creed in Roman times. Think about it - there was that statue of a Roman Assassin in AC2. There would be large crowds, Rome in those days was TOTALLY different to Rome nowadays, even Rome in AC: B is different. A mini-game could be that you free slaves and/or gladiators forced to fight.
Also, this would hurtle Assassin's Creed back to ancient times before guns. All-blade combat like in Ezio and Altiear (sorry, I know I've spelt it wrong) games!!! DO IT UBISOFT
Finish animation seems sloppy, this really is like Revelations to AC2, sloppy and finished too quickly without any major changes in gameplay. But I dont buy it just for the gameplay, the story is what I thrive for.
In terms of story, every AC game has been very good, ACB being a little too short for my taste and AC3 finale wasnt really what you would expect, but story has always been the key element for me in this francise
***** i agree with you on that theory, they cant simply just kill Desmond, well of course they can. Some people just try to acept the easy way that Desmond is dead, but he will come to the end and stop Juno, and that will be... o yes, i think it will be in at least ac XXI.
Did anyone else notice Haytham? Perhaps we will also see Connor, maybe even a younger Archillies, considering that Haytham still lives and the Assassins still maintain a hold that they didn't in AC3. Even if it's just a reskined AC4 I'll get it to see the story.
Dovahkiin Rogue get's a pass on the "Copy-Paste" factor just like AC 2, B, and R, because it has a whole new open world and a whole new story. Dont be fucking delusional. You're just mad because you don't get Unity and that you're stuck with this. This game won't be like 2 hours long so dont cry. This game will probably be as long as AC IV with a new story, world, and features. Plus, seeing the perspective of a Templar for once is badass. Spread the word of the fucking truth.
Electrodium I'd rather the current gen not even get an assassin game if there going to make it look like blackflag with a couple of changes have you not seen unity the new free running and No more ocean's and battle ship gameplay just LAAND!
so basically they made both land and sea combat easier, not that it wasn't easy already. This guy gets shot twice, a barrel blows up on him, he gets slashed, and is still no where near dead or even injured. Freaking doing free running after all that.
I'm glad that a videogame other than Empire Total War is showcasing the incredibly advanced weapons of this time period. Namely the Girardini Air Rifle (Banned by Napoleon because of it's incredible effectiveness in combat) And the Puckle gun which never went into full production because the British assumed it would be useless in real combat.
Hopefully there will be new hidden blade moves. They at least added a few new hidden blade moves in every AC game thus far so maybe we will get a some additions.
OMG, Haytham really exist in the GAME!! But it's 95% same as AC4. The combat was copy pasted and many others oso copy pasted and not to be criticised, it's boring actually for looking at the same moves. The changes that have been made was new character with a bit new moves and a bit improved quality with no multiplayer available... T.T It can't be blamed as they r focusing on ACU by UB Montreal which develop AC for entire franchise then suddenly this 1 is from UB Sofia for the 1st time :), really appreciate for what they really promised PS3 gamers for developing AC but kind of dull, seriously... as have to play hours for this like what did in AC4 T.T but thanks Ubisoft! U did what u did :)
Who cares if it looks like a dlc for ac4 just enjoy the work many people have tried their best at a very hard thing to do cut them some slack 2 assassins creeds seems like a good deal
+AssassinsCreed I have bought EVERY AC game for consoles. My dad first bought AC I when I was pretty young, and I got into it. I loved it to death. When ACII came out, I was absolutely stunned. Stunned! It was favorite game then, and it is still my favorite game 'til now! AC:B was great, too. I played it for months, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, killing guards 'cause I had nothing else to do. Man, it was fun! When AC:R came about, I said, "Looks decent." I loved the story of AC:R, but most of the gameplay mechanics were the same. Most people despised AC:R, but I was one of the few people that liked it. It's saving grace was probably the storyline. And ACIII? Looked badass. I thought it was gonna be pretty good, but I ended up hating it. Liked the new mechanics, but that's all it brought. AC:Liberation was decent, I suppose. ACIV? I... I wasn't at all excited for the game. I never liked the naval thing in ACIII, and thought it was gonna suck. ACIV was... a decent game. The naval combat drew me in, rather surprisingly. The story really sucked, in my opinion. There were a lot of emotional moments, yeah, but that's about it. The naval stuff got boring after a while, and I'm sure a lot of the others felt the same. It would be a good pirate game, but not a game where *stealth* is key. I saw AC going downhill after ACIII, too be honest. I wanted the game to return to it's roots! The things that made AC what it is. *Stealth, thinking how you're going to go about doing something*, things like that. I am so excited for Unity, but Rogue... What the hell Ubisoft!? You're selling us a god damn DLC for ACIV! The GUI is the same, the combat is the same! You're introducing a new story, and a few new weapons. That's about it! Just no, Ubisoft. This will be the first AC game I *won't* buy. To piss off a fan who's been playing your games from the start? You guys have to be doing something wrong. The idea itself is great! An assassin-turned Templar. But damn, it introduces nothing new. This is simply a cheap way to make some extra money, man. I understand that the last-gen systems have limitations, and you're pushing them, but I would prefer no Rogue at all. Letting Rogue out is a cheap way to make some extra bucks, man. People will have different opinions, and this is mine. I'll gladly reply to your replies, guys. Thanks for reading this.
Although I do agree that Unity looks better, I do find this game interesting. Don't think of this as just playing as a Villain. You're playing as the good guy. Just a Templar.
Unlike AC Unity, AC Rogue doesnt look much different than AC4 Black Flag. The gameplay, movement, stealth and combat seem quite similar to the previous titles, with only a few more things added here and there to give the impression of change. The only thing new that is worth mentioning is the ship's arsenal, which seems interesting.
the puckle gun was originally designed to fire square bullets (specifically as Muslims during one of the many wars). It was really inaccurate as the gun barrels could not be rifled like those of rounded bullets
I like the idea of playing as a Templar. There's always at least two sides to a story, and this is the second side. Plus, the storyline is going to be different from the usual "hunt down and kill the Templars." Sort of. lol. And the gameplay will be different too because you're going to be fighting against more intelligent AI (the assassins).
Whats with all the negative comments? U lot told ubisoft to make an assassins creed game were u can play as a templar. Now they made it and all of a sudden ur saying its not an assassins creed game. Well ur the people to be blamed, not ubisoft.
At least Connor is not born yet because this game takes place during assassin's creed 3 before Achilles becomes crippled and using a cane and Connor isn't born yet
People the framerate probably has more to do with the uploaded video than how the game's actually going to perform. Black Flag was a cross-gen game and it ran just fine on old consoles, so if this doesn't have to worry about a worthy next-gen performance as well as running well on last-gen, the game will run smoothly, if not smoother. Watching videos of artificial gameplay never does justice to how it will actually look on the TV in your room. I'm surprised this actually needs to be said, but with gamers as whiny and bitchy as they are nowadays, I can't say I'm surprised.
All you guys getting pissed, this isn't the finished product! The game doesn't come out for a long while still and will naturally be polished and improved as they continue to work on it. So chill!
I am a hardcore Assassin's Creed fan myself, just like the others here... but I would just like to say that I will actually be happy with this game, to be honest. This will be the last AC game for PS3 perhaps, and it supposedly raps up the North American Saga. And regarding the playing as a Templar, I think it will be a great thing to experience. So why not? Now you complain about graphics and animations, but once you are playing it and you get caught up into it, I guarantee you that you will barely notice them! So don't make it so serious, have fun, and if you want your perfect graphics and plot just upgrade to Unity... I bet it will give you the stunning experience you're looking for. Thank you :)
And what was so wrong with the climbing in ac4.... Nothing What's wrong with the kill animations...nothing what's wrong with the naval combat..... Nothing it was all good especially the naval combat and I'm glad they added new stuff and I don't care for graphics look and obviously there is no new stuff there not gonna tell you ever one of them because they want to surprise you so I say good for them this game looks awesome I'm buying and I'm going to enjoy and I don't care there's no multiplayer this is going to be a good ac game
To next gen players thinking of getting this: I would wait a year and see what happens, knowing Ubisoft they will remaster this game and release on Current gen and PC. Remember Liberation?
I find it funny that the same people complaining this is "a reskinned ACIV" were fine with Brotherhood and Revelations.
Thats because the series didn't have as many games... also because AC2 and Brotherhood actually felt like good games. Revelations was okay, but in AC3 the shit hit the fan and the series hasn't felt the same since
We'll both acb and acr had enough new stuff that it made it freely like they were there own game, this however is just ac4
sems1193 Also, the storyline fucking kicked ass in acr. Not so much in ac4
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag " Templars Edition "
Exatamente
TruPskakaroto XD Concordo!
I don't see why people are so pissed off that it looks like AC4. AC Brotherhood looks exactly like AC II and no one ever cried.
i dont care about how this is like ac4 because ac4 was good and i think the reason people didnt care tat ac2 was the same as ac1 is becaus it added missions and more weapons and people dont care that acb and ac revelations are like ac2 because you still play as ezio so it should be the same
The animations and graphics look a bit sloppy is all. Hopefully it'll be up to par with AC3.
nope graphics were kinda different new animations,COMPLETELY revamped combat..the tools were practically the same..soo..you are wrong
ChuckVirus
no the combat is the same, UNITY has the COMPLETELY revamped combat kid.
I wish I had next-gen so I can get Unity.
you mean "i wish i had a pc" lol
A proper PC that runs smoothly. I'd rather get Xbox One for loyalty rewards from past AC games. Like I said, I'm a big AC fan.
JohnBoyzZ its called linked accounts through uplay dumbass i got 3 different ports all have my previous ac games on record and i always get loyalty rewards no matter what system...dummy head
Um your attitude is so uncalled for. I guess everyone else that doesn't know this are also dumbasses?
JohnBoyzZ well they sure are young lady! :D
the stailkers and whispers, its like multiplayer from previous games
*stalkers
And the compass, though it's only seen during Eagle Vision here.
Not just the multiplayer. There were stalkers in Revelations.
yeah but no whispers or a compass
It does indeed have the whispers.
is that Haytham?
That's the first thing I thought when I saw him, but it looks like it is Haytham!
maybe
Yes it is. Haytham will train Shay... Or at least they will comunicate in order to kill Assassin's
Yes it is.
No. Its ur nan m8
I mean, look at 3:05.
What is that? Is that even possible for a 2014 triple A franchise game?
I've only noticed frame drops in this video though. The other gameplay video runs pretty smooth from what I remember of it.
Relax, it's still unfinished and still in development, there should be improvements
I'm gonna say this again
AC4 templars edition
and your point is?
Well that they made AC4-2 to please those on the last gen so yea you get a repeated game that looks like dlc
who cares. its a whole new story to play.
EA uh, I don't think you've played most of the series then, because if you have you would know that AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations were pretty much like this, reusing old animations. only adding in enough to make things a bit different. What do you expect? A whole new engine to be made for a single game on Last Gen Systems?
Sounds good to me!
Before it was "Oh my gosh it's the same every year."
Now it's "Oh my gosh they changed it too much."
Shut up and make up your mind.
Looks like Black Flag 2 in terms of gameplay
Yeah that is what it is! Ubisoft probably thought that the last gen players will buy it but they will have probably already played ac4 and not play this
Looks like Black Flag 1.5 actually. Environmental bits reused all over the place, and it looks like most of the new tools are just re-skinned for the era.
Well, I guess if you want more of the same with only a bit of advancement, it's worth a play. But if I get an Assassin's Creed this year, it'll be Unity.
it's because we're using ABSTERGO'S ANIMUS,that's why it looks similar
Well yeah
You seem to forget ACII parts 2 and 3.
No, dont even deserve that, it's basically a DLC
If I get this game I might "accidentally" let the assassins kill me a few times. Long live the brotherhood!
Pros:
-new naval gameplay
-new weapons
-new explorable locations
Cons:
-same old HUD,animations (enemy or not),the same combat.
Kind of like the same pro's and con's of AC 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations.
don't forget new enemies
James Tempest Thank you. Someone besides me sees that
same graphics
wow that air gun looks like fun
Why does the assassin keep running away from the templar even though he is clearly outnumbered like 5:1. Faith in Assassins: lost.
CNRSyndicate If you also listen the guy says "Now the gang leader, the Assassin."
*Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations come up*
THEY DID! 4 F*&KING TIMES! STOP YOUR COMPLAINING!!!
Just fucking shut up ACB and ACR were not copy and pastes. The only thing that is new in this game is the fact you play as a templar in the arctic and north America.
AC2 and Brotherhood didn't really feel like a copy-paste. Revelations did, though.
Jayson A AC2 didn't feel like a copy paste, brotherhood and revelations totally did. They were EXPANSIONS... They expanded Ezio's life...
Unity and Rogue are gonna be EPIC!
are the assassins good like Altair, Arno, Ezio, Conner, And Edward, Or bad?
Awesome!
Nice profile pic traitor lol I always thought that character and his design were so underappreciated
This guy looks good, but I don't think he can take on Connor or Edward in combat.
Well he basically_is_ Edward, soo...
Nah, Edward has more moves, he also has 4 guns.
Agree. He definitely can't take on ezio
williamsdonovan71 idk why you ezio fanbois still stick to him now?Ezio's dead,he is out of the question.
He wasn't even the best fighter anyways, it was either Connor or Edward.
They should have called this game Assassins Creed 3.5 because its a cross between 3 and 4.
Instead of complaining, how about you just don't buy it? People are so ungrateful. It's about story. The visuals are fine
Agreed, for people who haven't played Black Flag, this would be a great game visual wise and probably story wise.
you my friend, deserve more likes
I don't care what everybody says, this is one of the best AC games ever made. I loved Rogue more than 3 and I think Rogue was waaay better than Black Flag.
Um... This is almost an exact carbon copy of AC 4. I mean come on, they added a little bit of extra content, slap a new skin on the main character and boom. AC Rouge.
Wow, you can really hear the enthusiasm and interest in this guys voice...
5:35 Always a good time for a dance...
Oh my god I nearly died laughing, someone has to remix that with some Scottish bagpipe dance music.
My dad was thinking what if they made an assassins creed game set during the civil war (war of northern aggression)
Damn I wish this was coming to my PS4! I'm honestly more excited for this then Unity even though Unity does look great!
Really it's a re textured black flag
They'll remaster it and re-release it for current gen in a year or less.
Yeah true I give 6 months maybe a 2015 summer release.
4:24 What is wrong with this guy walking next to tree? His head is spinning.
RespectedGamer72 Yep.
Since the Templars are said to be fighting with them / controlling them
2) You have inner circle Templar recruits that function similar to assassin recruits of AC3, except, better.
But if you go too fast, then they'll stop following you, similar to hired help in previous games on land.. except you don't have to pay the British ships
6) I don't see why we need Templar Keys for a Templar armor.
If Connor doesn't show up in THIS, for God's sake, it'll be ultimate asshatery from Ubisoft.
Hopefully you mean to kill him because he was the worst assassin
Doubt it this is between AC4 and AC3 this is about what happen to the assassins in north America Haytham will be in it and probably Achilles but Connor hasn't been born yet during this time.
Connor wasn't even 10 years old by the time the Seven Years War was over, so I doubt we'll see him. It's more possible we'd run into him in Unity.
***** yeah it just said it is in the 1750s so I didn't know if it was before 1756 or not.
***** game begins at 1752 and ends in 1763 or 64
I also notice that the clothes that Shay uses in this game is the same clothes that you can unlock with the templar-keys in AC4.
Well to each his own opinion. What kind of game do you think it would be good in then? Just wondering.
I was thinking more Feudal Japan. What with the ninja culture that were living in and all.
I like how haythem just stays there and acts like a badass XD
This game is looking WAY more fun to play then Unity. By a long shot... they sad part is, it's on Last Gen. So after playing AC4 on a PS4. It's really sad to go backwards in experience. All those special effects and additions gone. So yeah, when's the Remaster of this coming out, lol.
Definitely before E3 2015 and I can almost guarantee that.
Indeed unity is basically back to assassin basics regardless of the new gameplay changes while rogue has pretty much everything else. Plus ship combat whihc i utterly loved best naval bit in games ever
Lol Rogue is shit compared to Unity.
Bring this to PC
...
and while everyone is crying here I am really happy that this game is coming out
For those people who think this is shitty, wait for it to be released, this game is still in its early stages, and besides, this is a last gen console game.
I just wish that combat will be improved in the final version, by that I mean no one hit kills.
keep dreamin' pal.
WheyLand Fitness no just know they got a month to fix what ever it is and im pretty sure it wont change much but it will
man, they sholud fix the interface, the weaponry, naval system, and even the story, i dont think they could fix all of that in 2 months, they could delay it, but it would take at least a year to fix everything they have done in here, i would actually prefer to wait that year an hope the game comes as a new game, not an black flag 2.0, expecting unity although, looks like a great game
Fix the story? You don't even know a third of the story! So far Shay's story looks very good.
This has the potential of being like AC1. The gameplay and graphics aren't the greatest, but the story and charecters have the potential to be amazing.
don't buy the ps3 version , it'll soon be released on ps4 as remastered version :D just saying
I get the joke
soon...it's been 2 years since you wrote this comment. Rogue is still olg gen only lol
srry bro but don't :D
Ramteen wow you're right. Eventhough it took 3 years lol
PEO PRODUCTIONS it will be next gen this march
Ezio is more of wiser assassin,he like to surround himself with books and knowledge .This are one of the reason i liked his character. He has full potential.
This looks exactly like Black Flag. So what's the deal?
That is the deal.
I like how the Assassins actually do Assassin things now, like air assassinations against you. Back in AC4 they just threw themselves at you.
Also I'm glad the assassins are so hard to kill and actually require thought to successfully hunt, they really should be
To all those guys who apparently don't think for 5 seconds:
They give us TWO new games in a year, so obviously not both of them feature complete new mechanics / settings and whatnot.
Is that sarcasm?
At least they spent time making a game for 8 year old consoles
Shay is the fourth character that's not related to Desmond. The first three who ARE NOT related to Desmond are Aveline, Adewale, and Arno.
Anyone else notice Haytham on the ship, or was that just me? Heehee. Guess we'll be working with him in AC Rogue. xD Pretty cool.
Ikr..He probably kill you in the end.
i know i saw it too
You rude I bet that either he turn's us to the Templar side, or we turn him to the Temlar side in the game... I think it'd be cool if we turned him from assassin to Templar. Haytham and Shay were both Assassin's before joining the Templar's, right? o:
Cubby n Dotboy X no edward just teached heythem to be an assassin
Revelations added many new gameplay options? Which ones?
But you must admit Revelations had a fantastic story, but it'd be more like Revelations to Brotherhood since it's more like Brotherhood than anything.
Wouldn't you rather have both?
In terms of story, every AC game has been very good, ACB being a little too short for my taste and AC3 finale wasnt really what you would expect, but story has always been the key element for me in this francise
***** i agree with you on that theory, they cant simply just kill Desmond, well of course they can. Some people just try to acept the easy way that Desmond is dead, but he will come to the end and stop Juno, and that will be... o yes, i think it will be in at least ac XXI.
I think the story of this will be pretty interesting. Seeing the side of the templars sounds pretty cool.
The god mode is strong in this one
They should make the dagger and sword separate weapons. Also, don't use Edward's kill animations, use Haytham's if you're not giving Shay his own.
Tell me why this is not on pc
They got unity to.
Pusemat no unity is only for ps4 , xbox one and PC (not for ps3 and xbox 360) and this game is for ps3 and xbox 360
I bet they'll make a port.
*****
YEAH!
Pusemat because 6 pc gamers will buy it including me
Did anyone else notice Haytham? Perhaps we will also see Connor, maybe even a younger Archillies, considering that Haytham still lives and the Assassins still maintain a hold that they didn't in AC3. Even if it's just a reskined AC4 I'll get it to see the story.
Wtf is Ubisoft what are guys thinking this game is a big middle finger to the public
i think that it'll have terrible storyline like ac liberation
Dovahkiin Rogue get's a pass on the "Copy-Paste" factor just like AC 2, B, and R, because it has a whole new open world and a whole new story. Dont be fucking delusional. You're just mad because you don't get Unity and that you're stuck with this. This game won't be like 2 hours long so dont cry. This game will probably be as long as AC IV with a new story, world, and features. Plus, seeing the perspective of a Templar for once is badass. Spread the word of the fucking truth.
don't get mad i think that templars are dickheads and that's the reason why i said that!
I don't see how its a middle finger to the community, we are lucky current gen even got a game.
I honestly see this being AC4 with new player models so far.
Get a next gen
I have a next gen. I was just looking at what this might turn out to be.
Same combat moves as the previous games
Hopefully there will be new hidden blade moves. They at least added a few new hidden blade moves in every AC game thus far so maybe we will get a some additions.
I'm interested to see how the story goes, how they will put the assassins as the bad guys.
Pigmej the man to the left of Shay on the ship is in fact Haytham
yeah, better quality of him :D
Wow s Haytham is really in this game like we expected. Great!
Assassin's Creed Rogue! Now running at a colossal 10 frames a second!
Who cares if it looks like a dlc for ac4 just enjoy the work many people have tried their best at a very hard thing to do cut them some slack
2 assassins creeds seems like a good deal
Cheers man
+AssassinsCreed I have bought EVERY AC game for consoles.
Thanks for reading this.
this is not assassin's creed !!!! THIS IS TEMPLARS CREED !! and the same as black flag. NOT BUYING IT . I will get unity
That's exactly what I'm saying
I don't, and never will, want to be on the Templar's side!!! I AM AN ASSASSIN
MrHaloownage I know me too I wonder who's the dumpass that thought this would be a good idea
YEAH , ac Uniy looks mutch better , in the graphics omg , the parkour
Although I do agree that Unity looks better, I do find this game interesting. Don't think of this as just playing as a Villain. You're playing as the good guy. Just a Templar.
Ubisoft needs to remaster this for Xbox One and ps4.
This just looks all around disappointing, I sincerely hope Unity doesn't disappoint.
i hope :c
Unlike AC Unity, AC Rogue doesnt look much different than AC4 Black Flag. The gameplay, movement, stealth and combat seem quite similar to the previous titles, with only a few more things added here and there to give the impression of change. The only thing new that is worth mentioning is the ship's arsenal, which seems interesting.
the puckle gun was originally designed to fire square bullets (specifically as Muslims during one of the many wars). It was really inaccurate as the gun barrels could not be rifled like those of rounded bullets
I find it AWESOME that advanced warfare comes out on the 360 so I have a game to play while I cry over how bad ubisoft let us down
Does this game have more competitive modes (Domination, Artifact Assault, Manhunt etc) rather than just co-op?
I don't care how good of a Templar Shay is, that Assassin had him running around in circles for a good while there.
The regen is so damn broken, he would have been dead a couple times before he can even touch that assassin.
The armor that shay is wearing looks like the templar armor in black flag.. so those this mean that this was before black flag?
I like the idea of playing as a Templar. There's always at least two sides to a story, and this is the second side. Plus, the storyline is going to be different from the usual "hunt down and kill the Templars." Sort of. lol. And the gameplay will be different too because you're going to be fighting against more intelligent AI (the assassins).
Technically, you could of had puckle guns late in ac4 because the puckle gun was invented in 1718 which was during the events of ac4.
Whats with all the negative comments? U lot told ubisoft to make an assassins creed game were u can play as a templar. Now they made it and all of a sudden ur saying its not an assassins creed game. Well ur the people to be blamed, not ubisoft.
At least Connor is not born yet because this game takes place during assassin's creed 3 before Achilles becomes crippled and using a cane and Connor isn't born yet
so it's basically using all the assets of ac4?
For people complaining what more could they actually do for the 360 and ps3 versions of the game?
So chill!
Anyone else notice that Haytham Kenway was on the left of shay whilst he was on the boat at the beginning
The Air rifle wasn't actually invented until 1780. The one depicted in the game at least. This is placed in 1758. . . .
Which means the templars invented it earlier make sense in story context and din't share the tech until much later. gives them a very powerful edge
Those Frames
I bought an Xbox zone specifically for Unity, and while I'll still get this game, it does look just like a DLC combo of AC3 and Black Flag
Why are people saying is sucks it's pre alpha so it not over and I say it looks awesome already I'm buying it the day it drops
Awesome9612 SOn, I'm saying it isn't the best because it may as well be an Assassin's Creed 4 Mod.
I hope we see Connor and/or Aveline in this game if not Unity.
i hope this comes to PC eventually, like an HD version or something
Why does everyone say this sucks? It looks fun, don't have a problem with this. The only small problem I have is that Shay doesn't have a hood.
To next gen players thinking of getting this: I would wait a year and see what happens, knowing Ubisoft they will remaster this game and release on Current gen and PC. Remember Liberation?
