This reminds me of when my sister was taking care of both our parents. Now she used to be a healthcare consultant and is into advanced methods she’d find online as well as natural remedies and therapies. She wanted to do anything and everything to prolong Mother and Dad’s lives even longer and would badger the doctors with what she said she had found- even after they told her there was nothing more that could be done for them. Mother passed away in 2014 and Dad in 2018. To this day she’s still beating herself over the head for believing she failed in her work!
This episode hurts so very much. My father passed 3 months ago in a not so dissimilar way, although he went due to a brain infection. He remained in a vegetative state, and was progressing into brain death after the infection slowly turned away from anti-biotics. Unfortunately, there was nothing more doctor's could do other than give him anti-swelling medication to reduce his pain, and set him on the strongest pain killers they had. The entire time he was out, he had those same reflexive reactions, and it hurts so very much knowing that other people have to go through these awful times as well. Rest In Peace, Dad. I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad and his siblings had to make the decision to take my grandpa off of life support 10 days after a car accident that killed my grandma instantly. They had just buried their mother and then had to bury their father. This happened in 1995 when I was only 19 years old, but it always feels just like yesterday.
At our hospital if you go to the ER for the same thing more than once in 30 days then all subsequent visits aren’t billed. It’s to try and get hospitals to actually treat the patient the first time instead of sending them home.
It's just a show, but y'all should know that brain dead people don't blink their eyes. Blinking his eyes would have meant he was in a vegetative state. Most non-medical people don't believe there is a difference between brain death and a vegetative state, however there is. In a vegetative state, the brain stem is still alive and there may still be hope. For brain death to be declared, all brain stem reflexes must be absent and there are guidelines about how long they are absent. Eye blinking is one such reflex, as is coughing and gagging.
Good to know since my two granddaddies are old and I’ve already lost my grandmamas. But most likely needed to know this for my mom.. her lung problems are showing up much earlier than her mom’s, my grandmother. She is only a little over 60 and shouldn’t be having to sleep with an airtube blowing air into her nose so she can breath properly in her sleep. I need to know things like this so I know if things go completely wrong. Granted I shouldn’t be casting stones since both our problems could cause that. She has trouble breathing and has a slight bit of diabetic. I have seizures and with every year they get worse and less under control. So, I guess im more likely to end up like that than her. I thought CPR kept oxygen going to the brain? I heard a real life case of a toddler who was revived after about 3 hours, and according to google some codes where the initial rhyrhm was V-fib, like this guys was, have lasted for 50+ minutes. And I read a story from a guy on Quora who survived after that long. They got to him the second the monitor went off and did CPR right away for only 5 minutes. Surely that would have prevented brain death? Even if it was badly done, brain death is unlikely to happen within 5 minutes anyway.

Total conflict of interest from the get go.
"This bed could be put to better use". Wow. What an a-hole
DID DR HAULSTED GET FIRED
Did Gwen get fired
Jay later killed the guy responsible for his father's death.
Bruh Wth is wrong with the title 😂😂😂😂😂😂 when words ain’t wording 😅😂😂😂

It's grammatically correct and makes sense. Maybe You're the one who doesn't know english
What an episode?
I truly cannot stand Jay’s character anymore. He’s so irrational and annoying. I’m on Will’s side.

Where can I watch this?
Who is in charge of writing these titles? 💀
Someone brain dead?
The description too
Why is Will even allowed to treat his father? Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest?
ok
I don't understand why their Halstead Dad died from Brain dead
Smoke inhalation from a fire set by a hitman caused it.
I want more episodes with Sam I love the guy
So is the dad brain dead if it is that means that their dad is gone
Jay has anger issues

At least get someone who can speak English to write the titles, jfc.
Title makes sense to me.

Man I would rather be dead and with Jesus than on a stupid machine for even a year. If I can't go hiking and be in the mountains and do things then what life is that. I would tell them straight up if it looks like I ain't there just pull the plug and let me die in peace without pain.
Agree

At three minutes and 45 seconds, when your time is up it is up you’re not gonna die until God says you do and when he says it’s your time it’s your time I’m a registered nurse for 35 years. I’ve seen it 300 times everyone has their time.
I think my brain is dead after reading that title
Tell me you didnt watch the clip without telling me you didnt watch the clip 🤣
Brain-dead is a medical term. If one is brain-dead, there is little to no chance of coming back from that ….which is precisely what happened.
i am alubera in potgal i am supper hot dr haulsted
I’m a registered nurse for 35 years we all end up dying people always want to think there’s hope we spent way too much money keeping vegetables to live in this country. Pull the plug he’s already dead.
