Nicole is underrated, in my opinion. Nik was absolutely stunning and had done well throughout the season, but Nicole also had some very strong shoots and did a fantastic job on the final runway.
I say Nicole looked like a competent model on the final runway but she never blew me away. She had some strong photos but her performance overall was average. Her look ("baby face") was extremely in fashion back then, and she was also quite young and had the body. She looked the part more than anything else. Tyra has said multiple times that they wanted to find more of a high fashion and less of a commercial/reality show girl that season, so Nicole was their best pick.
I'm not super fond of the season itself, although I find it to be an "easy watch". Production basically focused on Cassandra and Lisa for ratings/entertainment throughout the season, and after Lisa was gone (since she had become a liability for the production), they had to get rid of a few granola bars to get the drama going again. Cycle 4 was naturally much more entertaining and dramatic from a reality television standpoint. The final two was decent though.
I would have LOVED to see Bri on this runway show - even just to have her as an extra. She would have slayed with her walk. This cycle was one of the best!
Ma. Angeles Coronel I liked the fact that J. Alexander maintained its position of selecting Nik until the end. She is just great and good looking. Nicole didn't show surprised because she knew she was going to win due to favouritism.
I mean, if Nicole was the favorite of the judges, shouldn't that be enough reason to win?? At the end, who are the ones that take the decition WE, or THE JUDGES?? common Nicole was better in almost all aspects.
This is one of those cycles where both girls were equally good in photos, runway walk, commercial, in person, and personality that it could’ve went either way. They were truly neck and neck with each other.

Nik is gorgeous, but to be honest, I didn't even remember her. At the time, I wasn't really a fan of Nicole , but for some reason she's one of the girls that first come to mind when I think of this show.

Back then, I was really sad that Nik was not crowned that season. Nik's portfolio was stronger. Nicole was solid too, but Nik did not have one bad photo. She was consistent. The final runway gave Nicole the edge to beat Nik, that and the judges felt Nik didnt have a lot of personality, too meek or some crap like that. I agree Nicole looked great on the runway. Was she Naima or Brittani good? No, but she still did her thing up there. I dont think Nik's walk was that bad.... geez . Better than a lot of mediocre walks Ive seen in top model finales. Ok obviously Im a Nik fan lol but I give Nicole her props too. I loved this season and this was a very close finale, close enough for us to debate about it still to this day

Obviously she is the most successful as covergirl made the judges choose her for the contract. She didn’t deserve it unlike the others who actually worked for their place in the finals unlike Nicole who was whining about everything in the cycle and making excuses to why certain things turned out bad. Nik is one of the most successful models out of ANTM that didn’t win and she has done many high-fashion runway shows. All Nicole’s done is commercial stuff because that’s all she’s good for.

This episode aired in December of 2005. I was watching then. When the 13 cast members were announced for this cycle, I chose Nik as the winner. Both were good but Nik was so robbed. After this episode aired, I was speaking on a telephone about Nik not winning. I was told Nik didn't win because her doing so would've meant 3 African descended girls would've been back to back winners, and that they needed to space it out a little bit. As I look back 17 years later here in 2022, even though Nicole won........ I would love Nicole tell us about why she didn't return for cycle 6 for the final runway in Thailand. I'm just interested. Nevertheless, Nik should have won.

Imo, this was the shark-jump for ANTM. Crowning a winner that arguably had a non-winner edit for the sake surprising the viewers was a red flag of a shame show.

No matter the outcome, this was one of my favorite cycles. This is apart of classic ANTM and classic ANTM are the better ones. Observation............... and this is a joke. Only a joke. This was the 3rd ANTM cycle in a row to have the one white chick make it into the top 3 with 2 black chicks😂. Cycle 3's white chick was Amanda. She was with both Eva and Yaya. Cycle 4's white chick was Kahlen. She made it to the top 3 with both Naima and Keenyah. Yes, Naima was mixed but she was still black. Here in cycle 5, the white chick is Nicole who made it top 3 with both Nik and Bre. This would be repeated again the following cycle in cycle 6. Cycle 6's white chick was Joanie........who was born here in Pennsylvania. She came from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Anyhow, she was the 1 white chick with 2 black chicks, Danielle and Jade. Yes, I know Jade's mixed but still. Cycle 7 would flip this. It would be 1 black chicks in top 3 with 2 white ones. It was Eugena as the 1 black chick, and Melrose and Caridee as the 2 white chicks😂 So cycle 7 would flip this lol. Anyhow, like I said, ANTM was a fun show to watch but classic ANTM was the best. Cycle 5 will ALWAYS be one of my favorite cycles. It's unfortunate that as soon as they stayed in England briefly, they had to fly back here and finish it here in the United States. I wish they still could've finished it in England and flew Eva and Naima over for the FR.

I wanted Nik to win just like MOST OF AMERICA😊 But I think Nicole was more of what the industry was looking for at the time. Plus Eva and Naima both previously won right before this. No matter the outcome, this was one of my favorite cycles. This is apart of classic ANTM and classic ANTM are the better ones. Observation............... and this is a joke. Only a joke. This was the 3rd ANTM cycle in a row to have the one white chick make it into the top 3 with 2 black chicks😂. Cycle 3's white chick was Amanda. She was with both Eva and Yaya. Cycle 4's white chick was Kahlen. She made it to the top 3 with both Naima and Keenyah. Yes, Naima was mixed but she was still black. Here in cycle 5, the white chick is Nicole who made it top 3 with both Nik and Bre. This would be repeated again the following cycle in cycle 6. Cycle 6's white chick was Joanie........who was born here in Pennsylvania. She came from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Anyhow, she was the 1 white chick with 2 black chicks, Danielle and Jade. Yes, I know Jade's mixed but still. Cycle 7 would flip this. It would be 1 black chicks in top 3 with 2 white ones. It was Eugena as the 1 black chick, and Melrose and Caridee as the 2 white chicks😂 So cycle 7 would flip this lol. Anyhow, like I said, ANTM was a fun show to watch but classic ANTM was the best. Cycle 5 will ALWAYS be one of my favorite cycles. It's unfortunate that as soon as they stayed in England briefly, they had to fly back here and finish it here in the United States. I wish they still could've finished it in England and flew Eva and Naima over for the FR.

@Sahal E. M. Patel i was 8 or 9 when this cycle of antm came out and I remember being so disappointed when they called Nicole’s name. Like really ? 🥺🥺 I’m still sad about it and Nik hasn’t been active on IG in so longgg i hope she’s doing well
Nicole was sooo boring and annoying. Her voice for commercial seriously hurt my ears. I could go out to the mall and see her
