    Thanks for the video..But G is Gilt which is tied to Interest Rate movement..say in current scenario i rebalanced from E to G..and interest cycle reveresed...wont i loose money in G as govt security prices will fall?

    • @EveryPaisaMatters
      @EveryPaisaMatters  3 роки тому +2

      True that. And what if the so called "over hyped" Equity market start to see a correction?
      Fall in equities is much harder than fall in Gilts - at least history says so.
      One needs to do regular rebalancing of their portfolios - ask any Financial Planner!!
      As for the future, who know what's in store?

    • @indiautube4915
      @indiautube4915 3 роки тому +1

      If nifty falls now and interest rates rise, i will loose money in both E and G...G is not safe as it is projected..i think is riskier than equity
      Is C also same..like market price linked?

    • @EveryPaisaMatters
      @EveryPaisaMatters  3 роки тому

      @@indiautube4915 Question really is when you need money. If one needs it in next 3-5 years, move away from Equity.
      If it is 10-15-20 years, why worry so much about the "notional losses or gains". Time will teach how to tackle the tide.
      G is Govt. bonds and C is Corporate Bonds.

    hi can you help me understand . Does NPS rebalance Active choice as well or is it just limited to Auto ? For Eg : if I select an allocation of 30 E , 35 G and 35 C and only keep adding funds every year , will it have a completely different ratio at retirement ?

    • @EveryPaisaMatters
      @EveryPaisaMatters  2 роки тому +1

      For Active choice, there is no Automatic rebalancing. You will have to do portfolio rebalancing Manually if you are in Active choice.

      There is no such option. Once you rebalance, it rebalances the whole investment portfolio.

    Hello, I am a private employee investing in NPS tier 1. I have chosen Moderate Auto scheme(50% equity) for first 2 years, it was showing good returns around 14% XIRR. This year I changed to Aggressive Auto scheme(75% equity) , but could see 6% XIRR only. I can understand the market is low due to global recession. I changed to Aggressive because market is low , so I can buy more NAV in equity. I assume over a period of years, this will increase. Please let me know if my understanding is correct. And is it good to keep aggressive auto choice this year 2023.

    I am a little confused with the rebalancing math that you did. So if my portofolio is set at 50:30:20 then basically the amount that i am investing monthly lets say 10000 will be divided into that ratio and allocated accordingly. now my existing portoflio valuation might vary in the three different categories like based on market equite might be undervalued and so on so forth. but changing this ratio doesnt impact the existing portfolio. the ratio of my investement that is already allocated remain unchanged. Please correct my understanding here

    • @EveryPaisaMatters
      @EveryPaisaMatters  8 місяців тому +1

      Your existing portfolio also gets rebalanced when you change the ratio.

      @@EveryPaisaMatters thanks.. it makes me wonder that a NPS is promoted as comapratively safe instrument and backed by govt, but in reality it needs to be monitored by an individual and obtain education otherwise during retirement the return might shock an individual.. so an average Indian is not even educated about all this in school.

    Hi, I am a central Govt employee from 8 year and have default scheme of NPS. Recently HDFC AMC held workshop regarding changing fund manager for better retirement corpus. They are offering moderate plan which have 50% equity and 30 corporate and 20% govt bond and it will reduce every year age wise. In default scheme 85% allocation in govt and debt bond and only 15% in equity, also have 3 fund manager LIC, SBI AND UTI. My some colleage changed their fund manager to get only 2% more return therefore their all holding shifted to HDFC amc as per latest NAV. You have ample knowledge so please help me Is it really beneficial to change fund manager after 8 year service. I have 27 year for retirement. should I also shift or not ?. Please provide guidance

    • @EveryPaisaMatters
      @EveryPaisaMatters  2 роки тому

      It does not matter whether you are changing after 8 years or not. As opposed to normal mutual funds, here you have the option to change fund house. The performance of different fund houses has been different but there are also factors like where are you investing the money.
      For e.g. someone investing heavily in Equity would have got much higher returns by any Fund management house as compared to one who invested majorly in Debt.
      Your retirement is still many years ahead. Read the factsheets and search on internet on comparison of fund houses and you will be able to make the decision.
