This is the greatest tutorial I've ever watched. You thought me well. Thank you very much for sharing this chromatic scale on bass. Followed you my friend.
Luke, this is an awesome lesson! Bass is the 4th instrument I’ve learnt through UA-cam and I have to say that your channel has made learning the Bass so much easier. Brilliantly simple and well explained. I have a question for you that is something I’ve struggled with for all the instruments to play: How do you know what mode to play over a given key or even the individual chords in the key? Hope you get a chance to answer this, but if not keep up the amazing work
Hey Cheaney - thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I actually have an entire guide to the modes for bass that addresses all of your questions. It's all free right here: becomeabassist.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-the-modes-for-bass/ It covers what the modes are, how they work and exactly where to use all of them. There's 2 videos in there, as well as a PDF guide, plus 24 different practice tracks you can use to get your hands and mind around the modes. It can be confusing, but I've made the guide as straight-forward and jargon-free as possible. If you have any questions about it, just let me know. Thanks again!
What a cool song! I totally dismissed it when it came out, then years later it came on the radio or something and I was super into it. Such a wicked bass line.

Is there a pdf available with all the tabs you discussed?
Great video Luke. "Murder on the dance floor" by Sophie Ellis Bextor also uses tons of short chromatic runs
