Sherman is Watching Hi mate I recommend selling on eBay shipping them in small boxes with a heat pack. I could make a video on how to do that also. Or you can find local Facebook groups so people can collect from your house.
wow this is the video that got me into reefing i’ve grown a lot in the two years i’m starting to actually make some decent money given that i’m only 14
Just cut the whole top off in one cut. Leave the stump to regrow. Cut up the top outside of the tank so the other corals don't get stressed with poisons.
Also might be smart to do a water change after. So I guess just propagate the coral on a day that you plan to do a water change and kill two birds with one stone.
Hi davey51 the glue initially holds the frag onto the plug. After a period of time the base of the toadstool will grow down and permanently attach to the frag plug. 🙂
What do you cal this type? Most people on ebay sell them as toadstools! Iknow there are Japanese and tyree and stuff like that but I am just looking for a long polyp type that will grow wavy like this and be a fast grower! Tere is a woman on ebay selling them like crazy! But she blocked me lol. Wierd. Looks like the one she is sellin now maybe different but i am scared to buy somewhere else because i hard some people say theres were slow growers and she said she frags her 2 x a year! Plus Its beautiful!
Is there a reason to use a razor blade. I feel like an olfa utility knife would be easy to work with. Please excuse this question I've never done this nor do I even own a saltwater tank. Just thinking about starting a reef tank in a 6ft tank I have sitting around and trying to learn as much as I can.
Slywowzer yes true that would be the ideal tool to use but I don’t own one. Also if you did use one you would have to take it apart and clean it with clean tap water after. And make sure it’s dry otherwise they will rust. Thanks for your question.
Im a new hobbyist. I want to start a reef tank however, although i have the money saved up for a 40gallon reef tank, i want start off with a frag tank, grwo, and sell on ebay in order to cover expenses for a reef tank. I have a good understanding about the saltwater hobby and was wondering what are your thoughts? Thank you abd great video!
What do you call this type of toadstoll. Seems the are all called sarcophyton and when they are frags you have no idea how they will grow. I have heard one person on ebay call this an umbrella I believe is that what it is beside sarcophyton? I also love devils hand. I like the tall ones but they get to big and unless you just cut off the whole stalk no way to cut it back like you did with this!
@@jackson7962 correction, they don’t “understand” anything. They just unconsciously react to stimuli, that’s it. To the coral being cut is exactly the same as being exposed to sun or being fed or being exposed to slightly more salty water - just another stimuli to react to.
I’m no expert, but as far as I know, all I’ve seen here is a big NEGATIVE ! No clean cuts, cutting inside your tank, and using super glue to attach a toadstool!!! NO, NO, NO!!
Aside from the fact it’s a living creature and he’s hacking it up. They breed naturally when they release eggs and sperm from separate colonies. It’s like taking starfish from your tank and cutting them in half because “oh well they can grow back limbs” except at least with them, some naturally split but it’s because they decide to and it doesn’t cause them pain. You wouldn’t cut off your dogs legs cos it grew too tall to fit through the doggy door, you’d buy a bigger one for it
And if youre "no expert" i dont think you have the right to judge what he's doing no? I think youll find it offensive if i judge your own aquarium even though i dont have experience myself.
@@apdroidgeek1737 my comment was just that, a comment, I’m not judging, everyone is free to do as they please, is their life’s in risk, not mine, also said that I’m no expert, never said I have no knowledge regarding how to do so properly. But since you have no experience yourself, you should do some research and learn about the toxicity and risks of doing this process carelessly. Have a nice day ✌🏼

omg, why did watching him cut the coral in the tank make me physically ill? That was strange. Do they feel pain? They obviously feel something because they have a defense mechanism....
So where do you recommend selling them?

wet market
Most stores will accept them in exchange for store credit
In dark alyses by drug dealers
@@howtoreef6071 I know it doesn't mean anything when I say it but I would greatly appreciate it if you made a video on this.

Just wondering, is it safe to cut the toadstool in the tank? Won't it release toxins?
Vehan Landman I’m wondering as well
maybe add some activated carbon to the filtration to suck up impurites, I saw that on innapropriate reefer's video for fragging gsp
Also might be smart to do a water change after. So I guess just propagate the coral on a day that you plan to do a water change and kill two birds with one stone.
sweet video. I do cut some of mine sometimes but its just to pretty to go all the way around. But hell i could get so many frags out of it
Hi.
What is the approximate growth rate of that coral?
I like it owsam art and thanks for sharing video
salinity ppm?
light type?
changing water each week?
use oxygen generator?
use nutrients? I hope to answer these questions plz
what's the real name of this toadstool? i looking for this one. it's so beautiful.
*Facepalms so hard i die
Its a regular toadstool coral
Thanks sir.... blessed your day
Is this cutting and regrowing method work for any coral??? or just toadstool?
Don't forget to wear glasses and gloves in case the toadstool will release any toxins...
Look at the mess you have made of it all jagged
it will grow back its fine.
It’s a leather coral, they’re basically impossible to kill and they heal very rapidly. In a month’s time you won’t even know it’s been cut.
Is cutting whole ring around toadstool helpful/necessary? If I only want to cut back one side of the toadstool is that ok? Great video btw!
Kyle’s Aquariums yes you can cut as little or as much as you want off.
Wow nice toadstool!
Nice vid you deserve more than 18 subs
Right at the end of You said takes 4 to 5 weeks to attach to plug , Didn't you already attach it with super glue ?

Cool music and video. Subbed.
How’s the growth on the gorg’s? Thinking about copping some.
Andrew van Gils gorgonian very slow growth for me but one of my favourites. Thanks for the sub.

Do it, id say focus on discosoma or some other mushroom corals, many colors, impossible to kill and they are in very very high in demand.

Great video! Just wondering why not use scissors to cut the main colony?
us2tohell I find the stanley blade makes a cleaner cut and that i heals quickly. I think scissors might be ok but would be more awkward to use.
is it better to glue it or use a rubber band ?
The Lost Reefer. I tried a rubber band but it cut through the toadstool in half before it attached to the plug.
You still have this coral?
Where are you selling them?
Does the coral grow back?
mehedi rakib yes it grows back very fast 🙂
Sir...I have corals...what I can do???
What sort of vague ass question is that lol

Perhaps it's a stupid question, but does it hurt the coral when you cut it? Does it feel pain?
They dont have a central nervous system to recognize what we call pain. However they do understand they have been damaged and repair themselves.

glue soft corals frags useing super glue dont work, after 1 day they fly away
then how
I think there's a special glue for corals.. it hardens with water contact.
Yes that’s why I say put frags in very low flow and they will stick
What song is this ?
The song is called, "Toadstool Coral Love."
Oh ouch ouch! with that blade🙄 😭
Where could you sell the frags?
Madang

Its a colony. Its not one organism.
