Yet what you said contradicts John 3:16. Deuteronomy 4:2 tells us not to add or remove from the Word. You're adding obey to John 3:16 essentially. This is done with love not spite. You will see in verse 36 it says, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. But those who do not obey the Son will never have that life. They cannot get away from God’s anger.” If you noticed, most English translations say believe and believe not. But if you look up the Greek words you will see that the first word believe says πιστεύω - pisteuō which means Believe then the 2nd one in that verse says ἀπειθέω-apeitheō which means Obey, for those that do not obey. And if you ever look at Jesus Teachings in whole context you will see that this is true to His teachings. If we just believed ( like Satan believes) and not obey too then we are never really Christs anyways. I hope this makes better sense to you.
