Jason Lee rules. The guy is making his family priority #1 and that's awesome. Los Angeles is a lousy, shallow place to raise a family, so why not buy a ranch in Texas and absord small town America for a while? I love that he cruises around town in an early 50's Chevy 3100 truck with his vintage instant camera! This dude truly knows how to grab life by the horns and make it work.
+Tom R. I totally agree. Only I would have picked a place in Texas that has more hill country. Denton's pretty flat. But that's me, I guess Jason doesn't really care about hills.
@@AgentXaos Heh, I was curious if he goes to the local skate park here in Denton. I've had dinner at the restaurant he owns here. Barley and Board. Good food.
that’s bad ass. i met jason at the denton skatepark and took a pic with him, he was telling me all this shit about wanting to do all this stuff he talks about in this video. i saw his black truck all over denton driving around and shit and would say what’s up when i saw him. it’s cool to see where you live in a video like this and see all the places you go to. the gas station with the race car on top of it that he goes to in this video- me and the homies drive down the road from the park in denton to get rillos and drinks there everytime. the square, the pizza shop, atomic candy, beth marie’s, the loophole. it’s cool to see all this in the video.
Okay, sure, but none of this is sincere or real. Here's a guy that's grown up in LA, and been a part of a few industries there; a place where you can just assume an identity, buy a lifestyle, fabricate an existence. Look at this latest foray into down-home Texas farmer; a rich guy moves into a town where generations have probably struggled make a life and buys his land, buys a tractor, buys a cute little hat and boots, even buys the old truck. Never mind that someone who really lives that life has that old truck not because it fits some image of what he thinks is "Texas Farmer," but because he's taken great care of his only truck because needs that truck to live. To Jason Lee it seems like a necessary prop, a piece of vernacular that means nothing other than to say he's now a rustic old town type. Give me a break.
+flimflammity I get what you're saying. But I don't see anything wrong with a man wanting to be a part of that life, even if it's not authentic. As long as it makes him truly happy. Some people are fortunate (rich) enough to take on any lifestyle they dream of. I wish I were in the same position.
"Rich guy"...doubt he has that much money. If he did he'd still live in California... I meet someone nearly every day in Texas that says theyre from Cali and they all say the same things "Its so expensive out there" and a couple sentences later that talk about "how amazing LA is"...
flimflammity went to the Ft Worth stock show just yesterday and saw him with his wife and 2 of his kids. He was just hanging out and having a good time with his family.
denton camera exchange is cool except dude who runs it is mad condescending, none of the cameras they have even work and if u drop off rolls to get developed you might not get them back for 2 months
the people of Denton weren't very welcoming of his arrival. He clearly didn't realize that this little black hole of a town has way more character than he could hope to bring. Luckily he's not as pretentious in person as he seems in this weird braggy film thing.
Great vid Monster Children. Jason is such an inspiration to me. I'm always worrying about getting old, but when I watch this it just makes me not worry/care so much. Thanks you for glimpse into his world.
From skater to actor to farmer lol Jason lee is a rad dude
and a really good photographer

No war for heavy metal.

Texas is the best place for motorcyclists to live in
I went to a cyclists' funeral a month ago in Texas so, I disagree.
Funny, I moved to Austin for the same stuff- looking to buy land (and build my own skatepark:). Good luck Jason and Fam!
I live here too! Hope you have money for the land. Shit aint cheap here.
Hope to see you on the road sometime Jason Lee.
First of all I love this guy second of all him pumping the water on and off makes him seem so full of shit! That was funny, thanks man, made my day.
When I grow up I want to be Jason....Jason Lee
Quite possibly the coolest person.
Long shot on an old post, but at the :51 second mark...anyone know the brand of litle cigar he is smoking?
I've been here for 31yrs I love this town
He’s living the life we’re all working for
Such a legend started as one of the most stylish skateboarders to ever do it he's still got the pow to his 360 flips, not a bad actor and artist too.
Aubrey TX, shout out. Nice. Down to earth dude. We love to have him here.
right now jason lee has stopped being a part of scientology, please know that
@@knowbody9679 yes he is not in Scientology anymore
Denton TX not so quiet anymore
He already went back to Cali. Lol
He still lives in Denton lol he can travel you know that right? 😂
OG, original. jason lee living the american dream
a very interesting, if brief, look at Jasons current life. would like to see more :-)
When I grow up I want to be Jason Lee
Born and raised Texan! Hope you love living here too!
He’s my favorite person and my biggest inspiration.
All the cool people are moving to Texas. It's just better here.
And pushing Texans out......sad! The same thing happened in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Montana and now Texas, the celebrity invasion has begun.
My home town! Welcome Jason Lee!

flimflammity i think at this point everyone is leaving California! I left to North Carolina 2 years ago.....needed to get away from it all

amazing dude with epic beard !
Does anyone recognize the brand of pocket journal he was using? It’s not Moleskine. I can’t find any that thick, looking for something similar.

What a legend!!

Laura Ervin doesn't he have a bar in Denton?
He co-owns a restaurant called Barley and Board. He also paid for a skate park here.

Jason lee is a skate legend and Denton Texas can be sucked into a blackhole...god awful town!
What are you, his wife?
Glad you're gone - Denton Texas
He’s not gone if you look at his insta you’d know that
My dad.
To some he is an actor, who used to do a bit of skateboarding, but to others, he is a skateboarding god, who dabbled in acting.
To me he’s an amazing photographer
