Great advice as alway's Scott. "Throwing down paint and hoping for the best." Guilty! Note to self. 'Get the damn drawing right before even thinking about painting.'
So true with feedback loops and the practice of drawing. I stopped doing underpaintings and find paint does not attach as well in second pass. Very inconsistent surfaces…great video Scott
Thank you for allowing subtitles on UA-cam! Now I can understand what you are saying, not just see the pretty pictures. May God keep you in good habits, and I wish you continued enjoyable work!🥰🥰🥰
Hi Scott, I've been a self-taught artist, I've watched pretty much all of your videos, but I'm feeling stuck, I can't seem to move forward with learning. But your content is amazing.
Hi Scott! such great info! Passion for your art and teaching is a sign of kindness and true care! Thank you! I was a student online of Douglas Flynt! Interesting to hear the different tips you give. The querry I have is that you give a mostly alla prima technique. Window shading is so important but what about doing a multilayered painting with a wash of colour before adding the colour +white tints... because once the opaque white and pigments are layed on one can't really put glazing to get the glowing effect right? How to achieve the glowing effect of multi layers?
This is a really helpful video Scott, thank you so much! I’d love to hear more about practice routines and mini exercises focusing on individual sub skills if that’s something you’d be interested in talking even more about?! 😅🙏 Thanks man, all the best!!
If you are doing your underpainting and your drawing is already "fixed" on the canvas, and you find an error in the drawing that HAS to be fixed, what medium do you use to fix it...graphite, charcoal...that wont bleed through the underpainting into the paint layers? Thanks for your great videos!
It's really important to finish your art, thumbnails are great but when I complete a big drawing or illustration I feel much more confidence in my thumbnails and I draw them faster
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times: Scott you’re a generous man and so, so clever. Thank w
I still find it fascinating to see you paint with a round brush.
Thanks for the vids!
If Bouguereau were alive today, he'd subscribe to this channel.
Feedback loop is like rebooting over n over n never get anywhere. 😂
Amazing video! It got me inspired to finish more paintings. Thanks Scott!

How do you improve hand steadiness? I suffer from the wobbles when i try to do intricate details or lines.
Hahahaha I literally saw the sole of the shoe video reel yesterday
Grazie, sempre utilissimo , ho notato un colore nuovo sulla tavolozza …

Basically, im left-handed too like you, but when I used brushes to paint, I use my right hand, but it cant paint well as my left-hand do.
