Last time I drank Goslings black seal it had become quite apparent that driving home was a bad idea as standing up was somewhat difficult. During the “walk” home I got knocked over by a car, my first thought was to give the driver an earful and then I realized the car was actually parked🤷🏼♂️

I went to a cookout and the hostess knew that Dark N' Stormy made with Goslings was one of my favorite drinks so she offered to make me one. She came back with a HUGE glass filled to the brim. I took one sip and felt it burn a hole all the way to my toes. She looked at me and asked, "oh, is it too strong? I followed the recipe." I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I said, 'no, no, it's good, thank you" About an hour later, her husband asked if I wanted a drink and I held up my half gone Dark N' Stormy and I said that his wife already made me one. He looked sideways at her and asked which bottle she used. It was the 151 proof. She was so apologetic, her husband laughed like hell. 😂

Dermot's saltiness really brings out the flavor in his partner's personality regardless of who he is paired with. Aiden is detectably more "Aiden" today, and I love it!!!

That’s one rum I have not tried😢 but I was curious. I really enjoyed drinking 151 Bacardi when it was still being made, especially when having a tooth issue. But my favorite, sipping rum was Sailor Jerry in the glass type flask container. I stopped drinking it when they went to the plastic flask🤢🤮🤮.

Time for an absinthe shoot for Paddy if 151 is the highest he's had... loved this one. You did miss the opportunity to put a fake label - 160 proof Durian Philippines Rum - for Justine, just to see her face.
There durian liqueur, vodka, and whiskey- rum wouldn't surprise me! The Try Channel presents Durian Alcohols...I would 100% watch and be 1000% glad it isn't me lol
They have tried Everclear and Poitín. I don't know if Paddy was on those shoots.
Plantation Pineapple Dark Rum would have been perfect it has a distinct "Durian-colored" label 😂

The Wray & Nephew is what one could call "the every mans rum" in Jamaica. Sold at every bar and every corner shop worth the materials it's made of. If you go anywhere and request rum, they'll automatically pull for that. Older generations used to drink it with just water or Pepsi (because Jamaica is Pepsi country). It pairs well with Ting (grapefruit soda), fruit punch (rum punch for you guys) or even better, sorrel at Christmas. Oh, there was also a Rum & Redbull phase. Used by the older generation to rub on persons who have been caught in the rain (kids included).
Like I said, J Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, the rum for all and for all seasons.

There was a time in my life in which being able to do shots of Bacardi 151 without flinching was admired.
Gosling's created my favorite cocktail, the Dark and Stormy. It is strong, and it really lets you know it is THERE.
I love 'em too. Mind you, I have referred to dark and stormys as "drunk and disorderly"😂
I love it. Between Justine and Calleyanne, the high pitched squeals have my cats looking under the couch for mice.
The flashbacks I got watching this were intense. Last time I did shots of Bacardi 151, I ended up sleeping on a boat that was on a trailer parked next to a campsite. 😂
Sadly (or not), Bacardi discontinued the 151 a few years ago. While they didn’t give a reason, many people guessed Bacardi was sick and tired of getting sued. Yes, according to court records, a lot of people sued Bacardi because of injuries related to 151 consumption.
@@shuboy05 One very crazy night in the US Navy we took Colt 45 and poured in 151 and shotgunned them.
I was hungover and sick for 2 days. To this day I have not a clue how I got home. I do know that I had a very sore jaw as I was very noisy in the barracks and someone helped put me to sleep :) :).

My family is from Jamaica and we would never drink these rums straight. We would fill a bottle cap with rum and add it to a tumbler filled with milk, juice or water (my son might use red bull but I hate red bull).
I never saw anyone in Jamaica drink this stuff straight. Although some locals down at the beach bar had some conch soaked in it. They were eating the conch for some kind of super power.
I once made the mistake of having puncheon rum on an empty stomach.
We used to get scorpion bowls. We would tell the waiter Not to light the 151 on fire, and we would just pour it into the drink. Then the 5 of us would hammer it down, and order mai tais for the rest of the night.
Depending on the rum bars in 🇯🇲you go to, there is always the odd old man who drinks white rum straight, or with a little water, and who will also ask for the hidden bottle of JB. JB could be used to degrease a car engine 😝. Lightweights like me need cranberry juice or Ting with white rum, or ‘whites’ as we call it.🥴

I have a rum story about Ireland, though it was only Malibu … barely rum by comparison. This was 25 years ago or so, and some friends from the US and I had gone to Dublin to visit a friend of ours who was studying there. She taught us the importance of hitting an off license before the club, so I picked up a bottle of Malibu and a coke, which we drank maybe half of while sitting at the feet of some statue. We poured the rest of the Coke into the Malibu bottle and left it against a wall while we hit the clubs. A couple hours later we walked by and some random guy was chugging it, cheered on by his friends. I would have to be dangerously thirsty to grab a bottle I couldn’t see through from against the wall and take a swig from it, but this guy got lucky - only free rum and Coke in there! Happy to give the rest to that brave, foolish soul 😁

Justine (@JustineStafford) and Calllyann (@CallyannBrennan) paired together are great. Their personalities are so different but blend so well together. I love how Callyann gets so over the top excited about everything (4:00, 6:28, 8:40) while Justine is fairly calm and direct. So fun to watch their interactions! 🤣🤣

There is an obvious distilled water shortage in Jamaica, that needs to be addressed.
One of my favorite episodes I've seen. There was not a moment I wasnt entertained or wished to be having the drinks with them.
Por that 151 over a nice portion of christmas fruitcake and set it aflame. It's tasty as can be when consumed.

I adore the smell of Wray and Nephew. It brings me so much comfort. You really won’t find a Jamaican household without at least one bottle. I won’t drink sorrel without it.

May I suggest an extra helping of mashed potatoes before you go...the drink pours pretty generously at the Try Channel.

I brought a bottle of black seal overproof back from bermuda in 1986, and used to give a wee tot to m8's to see if they could handle it, no one asked for a second drink lol, not because of the taste, but the strength is well up there. I've had a bottle or two since i've gotten older, but was too young in my 20's to appreciate it. GL
In Bermuda they pair the Goslings rum with ginger beer and call it a Dark and Stormy, it is great.

Ah, good old Wray & Nephew. As Aidan found out, your do NOT just neck it. It is for sipping or mixing, and it will make you suffer for just downing it in one go.
Fun fact: Back in the day, the factory tour for W&N allowed you to toss a copper penny in the un-distilled version of the rum and watch it dissolve. Far from drinkable, but fun to watch, so I'm told.

That Goslings 151 is some good value, 188% the alcohol content of regular Goslings Black Seal but only 139% the price.

FYI Paddy, Baccardi also makes a 151 proof rum that is dark and dangerous, causes bad behavior!😊
They actually discontinued the 151 in 2016, sadly. People were using it for flaming shots, firebreathing and other fire tricks, and they caught a couple lawsuits over people being burned

Goslings is some good stuff. It's good even just to drink neat too. I'd usually stick the regular black seal and not the 151 though lol.

I have a bottle of the Plantation and one of the Goslings on my bar for tiki drinks. They are both quite good and different in flavor.
the new number one item on my bucket list is to come to Dublin, rent a limo, and take Justine, Ciara, and CallyAnn anywhere they want to go, buy them ANYTHING they want to drink (better eat too) and then make sure they all get home safely. i'll wait for your reply

when doing rum shots use sugar on the rim of the glass like salt on a marg. wet the rim of the glass w/ pineapple juice. Bartenders trick to keep people ordering.

I drank 5 shots of 151 rather quickly and tried to do a backflip off a concrete bench. I remember seeing the brick path really close and then being 20ft away walking towards the exit telling security I everything was good and I was leaving the premises. Apparently I had cracked my head open and had blood streaming down my face and neck. Ended up sopping it up w/ bathroom paper towels, falling asleep in my backseat and going to walgreens to get butterfly closures. Rinsed it out, butterflied it and called it a day. I was an idiot.

I’ve been enjoying these for years, but it is more entertaining when you get them more tipsy. We enjoy watching them after they’re quite a bit more loaded. Maybe have them all do a shot of something they know an hour before the show.

The last time I got drunk off white rum I was 16, and the last thing I remember was throwing up into a cardboard litter box while sitting on the toilet, and then waking up the next morning with only my shirt and underwear on (nothing bad happened thankfully, my friends just couldn't get my pants back on.) The hangover lasted two days.
