You know what's funny? The Hyperborean culture in Smith's stories is supposed to have been wiped out by the advancing ice age. Now, there was an ice age called "Würm ice age", which is the name of a river in Germany and is pronounced like "wyrm". "Würmer" is also the plural of "Wurm", which is the German word for "worm". "The Würm glaciation or Würm stage was the last glacial period in the Alpine region. [...] Like most of the other ice ages of the Pleistocene epoch, it is named after a river, in this case the Würm in Bavaria [...] The Würm ice age can be dated to about 115,000 to 11,700 years ago [...] The Würm Glacial ended around 11,700 years ago with the beginning of the Holocene. The cold period was followed by another warming which continues today and during which the glaciers are retreating." - from Wikipedia So, I wonder whether the White Worm is the personification of the Würm ice age in the story cycle.
Lovecraft was my first love when it came to gothic/cosmic horror but, I have come to admire greatly CAS, I think if I could emulate any writer it would be him.
@@MrShigura well that isn't so much an issue when he uploads some of the most niche stories.. and some of them are pretty rare. I couldn't find this story on other channels yet
not really - one is kinda a proto-vampire story, this is about sword and sorcery - being CAS its quite poetic also, that being said there is better poetry from him in stories

Is this related to Bram Stoker's 'Lair of the White Worm'?
