I would love to see the NTSB’s channel do something like the USCSB’s channel it would be so interesting to see everything animated and dissected and I feel like it would help mitigate risk if the information was shown in an easier to digest manner Either way I love your guys thorough work
@@mistzy8435 I googled it. Many sources confirm. While that does seem inappropriate to me, it's really an insignificant amount of money. It's sort of a petty complaint. 25 million might have repaired one bridge. I'm guessing Michael is more offended by the specific allocation, than the amount of money sent to India. If that money had been spent on a race track, I bet he'd be fine with it.

On my observations as an occasional Caltrain passenger. Caltrain always has workmen on site with two-way radios, along trackside of the mainline, holding a W sign in the air for approaching trains. When work being done on or near the right of way. I'm suspecting? The contractors workmen was migrant workers from Mexico, that didn't understand English to well. And most likely, communicating on a sub frequency channel in close range to the work site area, not the main system wide two-way radio frequency channel for Caltrain operations control center or approaching train hear on the two-way radio. Also? This could have been an attempt to collect insurance money or, worker's compensation. Either way it goes, someone's going to have to pay. The transcripts and recording of the two-way radio communications between work site personnel, on the day of the accident, and Caltrain operations control center. It will be pretty interesting to hear if there's any.
PTC has no effect on other vehicles sitting on the track ahead only trains. PTC just prevents a train from passing a red signal. If the train passes the red signal the brakes are automatic put into emergency
I used to live in Pacifica. Which is just over the hill from San Bruno. I went to skyline community college. Now live in St Louis Missouri where I was born.
I went to Skyline College as well.. all the babes went there, anyways you might recall that it was "locked down" for a whole day because some gang banger with a gun showed up in school.
In 1969 and 1970, I was still in the Army working at the 6th Army Aviation Detachment at Crissy Field, on the Presidio of San Francisco. One of my Army buddies completed his Army days and went home to nearby Pacifica. He got a job with the Pacifica Police and he was a patrolman for about 10 years. So, I wife and I and the guy and his wife used to do a lot together (movies, Reno, Carmel, etc.). And my daughter was born in San Francisco. In 1971, we returned home to Harrisburg, PA. We still keep in touch with our Pacifica friends. One night I rode along with my friend on his night patrol. That experience gave enabled me to gain a lot of respect for the work a policeman does for the welfare of the community.
HSR is needed in the US. It's better in every way. Car companies pay politicians to go against HSR, and other things. Additionally, it's dumbasses that cause accidents. Not smart people.

If we put more money into managing our own affairs instead of world dominance, things like this would not happen. Infrastructure, not war.
Infrastructure?..You mean that Trilly dollar Infra bill that sent 25 million to India for Gender Studies?..Yea, this admin really cares about trains.

Trump has spent much more than that on security detail while golfing. Now THAT is offensive.

Too many illegals not speaking English working in dangerous areas
@@borghorsa1902 Joe did this..
I rode that line many times and the legal speeds are up to 79 MPH on some stretches. A lot of kinetic energy in the train at any speed.
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA?
PTC should have stopped this from happening so why did it allow the train into the work zone?
PTC has no effect on other vehicles sitting on the track ahead only trains. PTC just prevents a train from passing a red signal. If the train passes the red signal the brakes are automatic put into emergency
There are various ways for workers to establish protection on main tracks. If not done properly, PTC won't do anything to prevent an accident.
As they said in the press conference, that's what they are here to find out.
I am so sorry, Caltrain 919. You did not make it through your injuries on your nose. You will be missed.

Can trains be equipped with sensors ?
The do
Just wait until the high speed rail comes through doing 150 mph

High speed rail has grade separation at crossings.
You would think we would have better technology by now. Wrecks like this shouldn't even be possible.
The engineer still hasn't returned to work
Good thing the f40ph didnt pick a switch

Welp I guess the electrification project will be delayed even more
