In Conversation with Ben Lake MP

Ben Lake MP joined us to celebrate Power of Youth Day 2022 to give us his take on what the Power of Youth means to him in his constituency of Ceredigion.
Ben was the youngest ever MP from the party Plaid Cymru, elected at just 24 years old in 2017, and his maiden speech in Parliament focused on increasing opportunities for young people. He has a history of social action and is very interested in supporting and platforming under-represented groups. He is currently his party’s spokesperson in Westminster for the Environment, Rural Affairs, Education and Communities, and praised Young Farmers’ Clubs across Wales for their response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Welsh is his first language and he’s a Welsh language campaigner. He has campaigned on children’s mental health, including joining experts from Action for Children during Children Mental Health’s Week last year.
