For this design, it looks like the blade simply translates tangent to the circle 7:28 using the linear guide, causing the aperture to open. The pin, fixed to the blade, is actuated through a guide where the rotation changes the pin's radial distance from the center 8:26. The blade therefore has no option but to move along the linear guide in the stator in order to accommodate the pin's increase distance.
