    Can the chopstick be wood?
    Does the resistor have to be 250 ohms? ( I have a 100 ohm, 10 watt resistor on hand).

      The chopstick just needs to be non conductive so wood is fine. 100 ohm is a little low. It will do but you are discharging the cap much more quickly

      @@cowasakiElectronics thanks for getting back to me. I also have a 1K ohm, 10 watt resistor - is that too high?

      @@williamjenkins9423 I would use the 1K rather than the smaller one. I install a 240K resistor from B+ to GND on all my amps to drain the caps automatically when they are switched off. It normally takes about 10-15 seconds to drain with a 240K to a 1K should still be pretty quick.

      I've finally got round to building my own capacitor discharge wand. I ended up using a flat bamboo skewer as I couldn't find a chopstick.
