In this video series Pieter Roelofs and Abbie Vandivere give you tips and instructions. They'll show you step-by-step how to make an actual Vermeer. Episode 1 : A gentleman
The painting 'A gentleman washing his hands' has been missing for hundreds of years. The creative part of The Netherlands is called upon to breathe new life into this work of Johannes Vermeer. Dionne Stax travels around the country to witness the reproduction of A gentleman with glass, 5000 dices, bronze, pencils and even gold leafs. Master painters Maudy and Nard also get to work. Their assignment is: recreate the lost painting exactly as Vermeer would've done in his days. Who comes the closest? All of the contestants are helped ánd judged bij Pieter Roelofs and Abbie Vandivere.

Wat betreft de meesterschilders, was ik het wel er mee eens. Maudy was gewoon al te ver in haar proces en kon bepaalde zaken niet meer repareren (vond ook de heer die weg keek iets te modern op het doek). Maar ondanks dat ik het Zwart Wit doek mooi vond, kon ik deze uitslag totaal niet begrijpen. Ook de opmerking "het contrast licht donker...." ...Ja goeiedag zeg, je zag een ZWART / WIT doek. Beetje domme opmerking. Voor de rest wel een schitterend programma. En het enige wat je zag was voor/achterkamer wat gelinkt staat aan Vermeer.
Werkelijk heb wat doeken gezien, als ik dit doet gewoon zou zien, helaas (en begrijp me goed, mooi verhaal en mooi schilderij) maar heeft totaal geen link.
Wees nou eerlijk, als je dit ziet zou je echt niet denken dat het van Vermeer zou zijn. Wil ook niet de man afvallen die dit heeft gemaakt, maar sorry.
