@@wasabicars thanks friend but they really are incredible and i share them with my friends and i gives us a lot of happiness because they are treasures that we saw one day and never again and to see them now in your videos is incredible 💪🏻🇨🇷
So cool finding out about even more obscure japanese cars that I´ve never heard of, altho I´ve always been a fan of them! Also, gonna replace the fuel pump relay on my CRX today, hoping that brings it back to life, wish me luck lol :D
ohhh that pick up deserves restoration... the Toyota s800 never seen 1 in person however there was 1 for sale years ago it had been fallen into the "tuners" world and was a shame what they did to it, the add has since been removed but the s800 was in a wasabi state for sure
Not sure what the status is on restoration, but I' know it'll be preserved. It's definitely in good hands. Owner's garage: ua-cam.com/video/YsyX_vJc9wc/v-deo.html
CBG I had one on Okinawa in 1970-71. I was a Green Beret and we had 3 boats. I was the diver on the boats and carried my diving gear in the back to the pier. That was about all I could carry. This truck was not a chick magnet😍😍🤣🤣
I'm trying to add a picture of my Publica it has a Okinawan base decal on the front window and had writing on the side when I got it saying for Military use only in Japanese.
Wow...that pickup is literally wasabi to the point of abstraction...rolling history and barely living art...many goodies there Dan and I'm drooling in anticipation of Christmas day...many thanks fella....
Yep. I'd say it personifies Wa and Sabi, but Wa and Sabi are human characteristics. But, you know I'm saying it's as Wa and Sabi as a thing can be. Thank you :)
What an awesome car! I'm so glad people still take their time restoring them over there. After going through my rusted cars I'd probably wouldn't give this one a chance at all. I wish you find it again years later running and driving great with a shaken sticker on the windshield. I hope you've been doing well Daniel, looks like you have and I'm happy for that. Really missing watching your videos. So many things going on lately
Excellent video! That truck is the very definition of disposable. It was used up the way it was meant to be. The fact that it survives to this day, in any condition, is an absolute miracle. Thanks for sharing.
Dan holes in the floor, brings back memories of a 1980 corolla, my dad had holes in the passenger side and the rear, metallic brown, with one rear door complete with chrome trim and a tinted window, the fuel tank also had a leak, fond memories of going to school 👍
Amazing stuff Daniel, probably one of my favourite things you’ve shown so far! I was only very loosely aware these existed but it’s such a sweet little car.
What an awesome encounter! I have only seen the double cab pickup of the section of generation, but this just looks Fantasticly wasabi! 😘 What is even more shocking is that this little pickup actually is on the same pardon as the Sports 800😲
Oops (I think.) My wording may have been confusing. "Thanks to Patreons" I could go to Osaka for the event. The "Christmas special" I will upload as a normal Saturday video. However, and I'm already overdue, there will still be exclusive Patreon vids. Sorry for any confusion.
Hahaha! Wasabi would be a cool name for cat too, now that I think about it... Ah, three publicas, the sedan version. I didn't say so, but I wasn't being body-style specific when relating that story
cool:). but man, thats rough, especially the roof might be a big problem...but i find it interesting how typically, beaten up cars like this still got theyr papers and all, and the nice ones dont, i see that all the time even here haha

Hi I just seen your video here is my 1967 Publica UP26 pickup in mint condition. I can't seem to add a picture I'm sorry. You can see my truck in a picture at the 2009 Toyota show in long Beach California
Yeeah. I've seen heaps, which is unfortunate. To be honest, have uploaded more than a few vids of them; either featured or commented on/referenced in the course of other videos
Mister Daniel these cars where a very strong in culture costa rica and how and your videos are incredible 🇨🇷💪🏻
Pedro, I really appreciate your comments. It gives me energy to keep making videos. Thank you

Loving that pick up, never ever knew they’d made them, despite 10 years working for Toyota didn’t know they were in their back catalogue, epic mate!

Yo, best of luck with your car. A car out of action is fun for a bit, but that soon wears off. Lol.

Hahahaha! Did it make a whistling noise at speed? Or, was speed not possible? Haha. Love it
@@wasabicars speed wasn't an issue, to be honest, wet feet on the other hand 🤣

Good morning from London Always love the show!! Great video 👍🏻👍🏻. Have a Merry Christmas mate!
Thanks, Joe. Still a few more vids before Christmas, so I won't wish you a merry one yet. Enjoy your weekend

Art, a double cab version of the Publica?!? Corona, Corona Mk II... Crown I've seen.
Those are some cool cars I have never herd of a toyota publica
Newer cars in its lineage were badged as Toyota Starlets (which may not mean anything to us Aussies. Lol)
Mate what. A. Find. Funky cool little ute, andi am looking forward to that monster episode 😀
Yeah, buddy. I'm finding all sorts of stuff. (Will have to see a doctor about that rash...) That monster ep... Christmas 2022. Lol
Great video Daniel. Glad I was sitting down when I watched it 'cos I'd probably have fallen over at the patreon preview (it made me light headed lol).

No, it was the camera movement. The fast panning around made me feel dizzy. Prob one of my many old age side effects, haha!
Love seeing crusty old Japanese cars with a new chance for life! 👍😎
Yes, Anthony. Good to see. Hope to see more of it :)
Hi Dan, good find, even the cat looked Wasabi spec, with rust & dirt colouring. I wonder where in Australia the owner found those 3 utes.
Hahaha! Wasabi would be a cool name for cat too, now that I think about it... Ah, three publicas, the sedan version. I didn't say so, but I wasn't being body-style specific when relating that story
2:19 when you're over excited for seeing a Publica........and end up dizzy.
😂
G'day Dan mate
How's it going? Again, I didn't do the premiere thingy. I will have to do before the year is done and dusted though. How you been?
She’s amazing !
Hey, Thomas. Yes, she really is
Absolutely love that micro truck ,
What year would that be ? And what configuration is that motor is it flat like a boxer ? Thank you so much
Year'd be 1966-1969... Engine is air cooled, flat 2 boxer configuration. Thank you, man. Appreciated :)
that cat made me laugh out loud
You mean the caged lion? Lol
Thanks for the video. The Publica lookd a bit like the Hillman Minx. Is the Publica aircooled? All the best
Yeah, is air cooled. The air was cooler back in the olden days ;-) Thanks for watching. Hope you've been well :)
You didn't make a video of the green Trueno?
Actually, no. I' see so many. Lol. Oh, wait up. The one @3:50?

Is it common in Japan for People to carry their cats around?
Dogs, too. Lol! But seriously, it isn't so common
damn the publica looks pretty close to a trabant 601.
Oh! It certainly is
It's a Hol(e)y 'Can, Dan!
Hey, Dean. Sorry, but your pun is a little lost on me. Lol. Holy/Holey, I get. What's with the can?
I don't see a radiator... Is that thing air-cooled?
Hey. Yeah, air-cooled. Hope you've been well
