If as you say the driver couldn’t see how close the queue was then he shouldn’t have been sending it at all, it’s not an obligation by the event to send it from the gates. He was too interested in showing off to a crowd, didn’t see the line of cars and overestimated how good his brakes were and had to bail. The Boxster and Mustang driver being smart enough to watch him approach, realised he wasn’t stopping and move out of the way saved his ass completely.
