Usually when trains pass each other they dim the lights so they don't blind the other driver, but since they can't dim them they just turn them off I guess. If you keep watching right when the train passes the station they come back on.
Some engineers (usually freight) as a courtesy, turn their headlights off at night for a few seconds as they're approaching a train coming on the opposite track. More common years ago.

Yes the United States of America should of had highspeed bullet train technology decades ago. These new trains were designed by Aston in Europe, a county that holds the record for fastes train on rail. But here in the so called mighty United States of America, you know, the country that can put a man on the moon to jump around and pick up rocks at a cost of billions, can't achieve highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric) and one of the reasons why is because americans are blind and stupid to this technology which causes negativity. Don't believe me? Look at your own remarks. The United States governments are idiots. I know you're american but atleast try to visualize this.. Exsample, i make the 831 mile trip from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida 3 times a year. Traveling through the night when everyone is home and out of my way, it takes me 11.5 to 12.5 hours to drive or 13.5 to 14.5 by EV. If there was a bullet line that spanned the entire United States Eastern seaboard from Boston Massachusetts to Jacksonville Florida, stopping in one city in each state it travels through, i could board in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and be in Jacksonville Florida in 4 to 6 hours and all at 200 plus mph and not a ripple on your martinis. I could board in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and be in New York city in 20 minutes and go to work and still be home in time for supper. You could move millions of americans up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard with great comfort. Did you ever sit in that i-95 traffic? Or be one out of thousands of people who sit stranded at airports due to cancellations and delays during the holidays and travel seasons year after year? This would would free up some of this. But you're an American. You will never see it. But the next time you're in traffic, think of this alternative which your mighty United States of America dosent have. The Liberty trains not only sound like pansies compared to the regular trains (need Nathan horns on them to be taken seriously) they're the most hideous trains in North America! I almost can't believe they're running on Amtrak rails. They look fragile AF, as though someone could blow on it and derail it. I don't know what Alstom was thinking when they designed these piecces of crap. Ugh! Bring back the manly trains Amtrak is known for! End of rant. Great action, though! Nice catches all the way!

They were made by Alstom which is a European company so expect a different design when you ask a European company to make a train for the USA. Maybe ask General Motors next time
@@TrainspotterBarn2984Alstom made the original Acela as well in collaboration with Bombardier. The horn is just the result of Amtrak management trying to “be more European” because they think that will draw in more riders.
The use of articulated trucks under the cars is a big mistake. If there is one major problem with ONE car then the ENTIRE train is out of service. That is beyond STUPID ! People in the area will have issues with those horns, too. In this country I bet not many people will recognize the sound, hence it's a safety issue.

That's the thing: Even the regular trains run at pretty high speeds on that corridor.

It’ll be use on the Keystone service the hhp-8c and avelia liberty will be in service later this year
The HHP-8s are going to replace the old Metroliner cab cars on Keystones and the Ethan Allen Express.
EAX does not have overhead wires
