I’m not sure about Bernard orchestrating an assassination in another Silo. I really don’t think he has enough knowledge about the Silos, and honestly, I don’t think he’s clever enough.
Piggybacking off of this. I do believe Bernard is aware of the existence of other silos. After all, Solo asked Juliet which silo she was from, implying that all heads of IT are aware. But ultimately I don't believe that any silo has any control whatsoever of other silos. So it couldn't have been Bernard for sure.
I'm like the Fan Theory that there is a "central silo HQ" that is responsible for the separate power & air that IT and Judiciary receive in each silo. They sent some security people to Silo 17 after the rebellion to clean-up, and discovered Solo (as a child) and the HQ has been trying to get rid of Solo ever since. Because they haven't been successful in getting into the Silo 17 IT, the HQ has been rotating "sentries" to watch Silo 17 from within. When Juliette arrived the Sentry got word back to HQ, and has just received instructions to kill Solo and Juliette. That's my guess. And, I don't know if Solo is dead.
Solo was extremely paranoid whenever he left the vault, and even though I initially thought it was just him being crazy after all this time alone, it is very likely that there actually is another person inside of the silo, that solo knows of and is scared that that person is trying to get into the vault. I don’t think that Bernard has anything to do with that.
Solo must come out of the vault periodically, even if it's simply to check how far the water has risen. I'd guess that he wouldn't be aware of people unless they approached the vault, and why would survivors be interested in what happens in there anyway? There's no judiciary or raiders to interfere with their lives. They're probably better off staying closer to the farm levels, or maybe janitorial has its own supplies. There might have been a time when the vault could have been useful in saving lives during the rebellion. Maybe, he saw people a few years back, and has no way of knowing if they're still alive.
@@GlasPthalocyanine I like what you say, but if Silo 17's IT Vault is still operational (as it appears to be, since Solo has food), then just as Bernard received the AI Warning when Mechanical launched its "flyer-bomb" and Bernard an audio message inside the Vault about a "D-level" emergency [I think those were the words]; then Solo could have been getting regular AI audio warnings about the dangerous flood levels in Silo 17. Having Bernard get the warning may have been the writers dropping a clue that explains how Solo, in Silo 17, knew about the danger from flooding--without ever having to leave the IT Vault, which is one of the few things Solo has told Juliette that I believe.
@@117Derek Did Barnard get those warnings directly to the Vault? Or were they forwarded from Judicial? In silo 18, it seemed to be Maintenance/ Janitorial that were installing and monitoring cameras, and maybe other sensors.
@@GlasPthalocyanine I'll need to rewatch that episode to confirm WHERE Bernard was when he got the AI warning. My recollection is he was talking with Lukas.

Not so sure about that as that child wouldn't have an 🪓 to grind. This has got to be one of the rebellion fanatics Solo won't open the door for. There was a message on the wall saying we're going to get in so Solo knows this intruder.
I think the person waited until the pump started before attacking solo so they probably want the silo to be saved and are a silo seventeen native. IMO, the 2 recently dead bodies outside of the vault were the original vault occupants - actual solo (the real IT shadow) and tiny - and Tim (current solo) survived to adulthood with this other person in silo 17, eventually conned his way into the vault, unalived solo and tiny, but then instead of letting unknown person live with him in the vault, he shut this other person out and that person has been trying to get revenge on Tim for a while since.
there were fresh bodies when Juliette came to silo 17 and also ''let us in'' written on the walls of IT. most likely there were silo 17 survivors and angry at Solo for not helping them. hopefully Solo will realise silo is nothing without it's pplz and apologize. also choose new shadow and hand over silo17 to these ppl n follow with Juliette to silo 18 as a usefull ally.
I actually love the pace of the season it’s slow because it keeps the suspense, and if it was any faster it wouldn’t be as interesting and it would give us too much at one time. I hope we get another season. But yea I think there is another person who was most likely living off scraps and solo probably knows who it is.
1. Bernard's assassin doesn't make sense. Bernard might have seen her enter the other Silo and the devastation around it but he doesn't know if she is still alive or not. She's Schrodinger's cat right now as far as he's concerned. He's focused on stopping the rebellion and decoding that message. He doesn't have anyone he could trust to go out like that. 2. An assassin from another Silo, the controlling Silo, could be possible but I'd expect they have other, better methods of killing people in a Silo. Gassing them most likely. Unless that system was disabled. 3. another survivor of Silo 17 is the most likely answer. Jules saw a farm partially working on the way down where she got some water. Someone cut her rope while on the way down too. So they were there when she arrived so they weren't sent from somewhere. My guess is "Solo" has been fighting this person his whole life trying to keep them out. Also you asked why would someone try to stop her from saving the Silo from flooding. Did they? Once they saw she was going to attempt to turn on the pump they waited until it came on and she was headed back up before cutting her line.
Solo knows this person and Solo didn't allow anyone else to come on. There was a message scribbled on the wall saying we'll get in. So there could be more than one person. But what is the guy's motivation to kill Solo?
@@jonfreeman9682 yes, but that message could still have been written by someone who is long dead. The bodies outside the vault might not have been there 25 years but they didn't die recently either.
Barnard will say that Juliette is dead because it's the best way to discourage rebels from attempting to get through the airlock. Agreed, he wouldn't trust anyone to go outside. Although, I believe Meadows may have left the silo for 4 days, 25 years ago. He trusted her, but there was also a definite rift between them since that time. Barnard killed Meadows rather than allowing her out of the Silo. Of course, he might have been calculating the break down in the morale of silo 18, if a judge was seen to leave. It's also possible that he already knew that Meadows would have a reasonable chance of making her way to another Silo. (There's also a few red flags in the earlier implied relationship between Barnard and Meadows. He may simply have been denying her the chance to leave him, on her own terms. ) It doesn't seem likely that anyone outside silo 17 would send an assassin. The obvious way to guarantee the deaths of anyone inside silo 17 is to breach the outer doors and let the toxic air kill them.
@@GlasPthalocyanine my guess is there were several people in there at one time. they were all locked out. as food got scarce I imagine they turned on each other. or a couple of them went down to plead with him and Solo killed them somehow. Gave them some poisoned food?
I think it was an agent sent by someone in charge or who has knowledge of all the Silos. But can also see it being another survivor from Silo 17. We’ll see!
I get what you're saying. Solo went to a lot of trouble explaining the bends, and how to avoid them. Then (weirdly) Juliette came straight to the surface without any difficulties. So, can we assume that's intentionally scripted? We know Juliette can't swim, but since leaving Silo 18 she's been exposed to toxic dust. That might have different effects on people who can survive the first exposure. There's also the antibiotics that Solo made to cure the wound on her arm. That wound was horribly infected but cleared up pretty quickly. We don't know if medicine is different in Silo 17. Perhaps they have a cure for the syndrome?
@@GlasPthalocyanine The bends can attack a diver AFTER he/she has surfaced and is out of the water. Juliette has only been out of the water for a few minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if she cramps-up during the next episode.
I'm not an expert but if she exhaled properly and if she is blessed with the right genetics. She can just barely get away with it. They talked with some about it for sure that why they gave her a good pause wasting of air her in experience work in her favor exhaling to point of almost drowning
we already knew their were another person watching since she was building the bridge in solo's silo....why are we now surprised when the tried to drown her the first time she went into water
