Wait what? You haven't seen Dune part 1?? You've really missed out. If you do go see it, just make sure you see part 1 before you see 2. Oh and the old movie from the 80s spans the same timeframe as Dune 1+2 now. This trailer does rely on people having seen the first movie, because to me there's much to be excited about. I will say though that there are probably a lot of things that you wouldn't get if you weren't familiar with Dune part 1 or Dune in general. And tbh it's really something you should see in the cinema. As it's a Denis Villeneuve movie, the visuals and atmosphere are just amazing. And yes there will be more trailers I'm sure but I'm really glad actually that they don't give away too much. All in all I really want to see this movie NOW! I still liked this video. I may not agree with you but I do prefer honest opinions :)
"Dune" is based on the 1965 best selling novel by Frank Herbert which takes place 20,000 years into mankind's future. In the year 10191 A.G. (After the Guild) House Atreides takes stewardship of the desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune from House Harkonnen as decreed from the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV of House Corrino. Beyond that you really need to see Dune: Part 1 to get a better context of the story.
I think had you watched part 1 before doing a reaction to this trailer you would have given it the top mark, part 2 starts where part 1 finishes so no time skip.
If you like hard sci-fi you need to see Part 1. I can't wait for part 2, but I've read the book series and that's right up my alley. I kind of agree that this trailer isn't a crit, I suspect there will be another trailer before the movie comes out.

I will say it. Read the Frank Herbert series. It is not what people think it is
