Korea is so scared to acknowledge Dreamcatcher because we’re not as open to the Rock concept especially within girl groups. They definitely deserve more recognition, their vocals are insane. They’re one of the most talented (if not THE most talented) girl group of this generation.
If you want them to have more recognition, it would be helpful if you could help support them in their next comeback. Many just talk but no action

They're also very progressive and open when it comes to body image and sexuality which sadly is something korea is behind on as well. So sad to see them not get all the love they deserve. They are so damn talented and so ahead of their time. I love them so much

I would like to hear them do or even cover a power metal or symphonic metal song. I think my head would explode if they covered Black Diamond by Stradivarius. It fits in perfectly with they're style, from the harpsichord piano to the powerful vocals (Siyeon's specialty 😉). The choreography would be nuts!

almost every single song dreamcatcher releases is produced by leez and ollounder!! (they also work in songs for ateez)
in their older albums you can find the producers as "super bomb" trio made of leez, ollunder and another composer j.soul
honestly leez and ollounder are veery versatile and have made songs of many genres for them (ballads, edm, rock, pop, reggae ish, etc)

Kpop, rock, metal, EDM, R&B, Jazz, Ballads. you name it, they deliver it.
Dreamcatcher's albums are roller-coasters. One moment it will be a heavy song, the next moment it will be a soft one.

Honan nailed it right on the head. Dreamcatcher and Red Velvet are two of the best in the game right now but DC’s got that underdog feel because the Korean music industry is still afraid of genres other than pop.
Break the Wall is kind of like a rallying cry or an anthem. The lyrics alone point to that and the use of Megaphones and distorted vocals have that feel of rebellion, much like DC is rebelling against the industry. Against all manner of roadblocks they put in front of DC, they just keep getting more popular both at home and abroad. It’s honestly refreshing to see.

Dreamcatcher are a genre in of itself. They are so diverse and I’m so happy you guys reacted to this! It’s one of the best songs on the album (although all the songs are amazing). Stay safe and healthy!! 🤘🏼

They have a new song called Can’t Get You Off My Mind and it’s entirely English. It’s a soft track for sure, but it’s so good and it proves that they can pull off so many genres.

Most of Dreamcatcher's songs are composed by the same people: Leez and Ollounder.
And usually they also play at least some of the instruments in the tracks.
So it's a combination of Leez, Ollounder and the girls (some of them also contribute for the songs)
This was definitely one of my top b sides for them, the sound of it is so pleasing. Ive been super excited for this ever since I saw it on your guys' schedule. Especially with the more recent albums and minis i feel like theyve been able to show their more diverse side and showcase more of their musical power. Every member is an incredible vocalist, even Dami has such a sweeter softer voice to her despite her having the lower impacting rap vocals most of the time. Thank you guys for taking the time to show the girls more love, I know my fellow Insomnias appreciate it as much as I do.

Actually they use the microphone to distor their voice you can clearly hear the difference when they sing with and without it in their face

this song sounds like Meteora era to me, i haven't been able to listen to a Linkin Park song since Chester passed away so this (and other Dreamcatcher songs) really fill the spot Linkin Park left me.

High moment: Dami's rap is the scattered, chaotic segment meant to represent the struggle before the win.

They are definition of Badass , their aura .
On the track, their intro vocals are processed using a "telephone/megaphone" EQ which essentially cut out the lows and highs, leaving only the mids and giving you that tinny, processed, "through the phone" sound - if they are using a megaphone live to emulate that effect, that's hilarious but also I'd assume it's just a prop and they're processing the vocals live! A megaphone might create mic feedback as it uses electricity to amplify the sound.

I find dreamcatcher to be very j-rock as well, as far as pushing the boundary of genre. They pull from a lot of genres that are already pushing the limits of sound, so it’s hard for them to not be totally epic
you never know what you are going to get with every new dreamcatcher release,.. but youll always can be sure its awesome

Pretty much all their songs (titles, that is) have been produced by Leez and Ollounder!
They are so rad! We are gonna have to do some research on them to see what else they work on. They incorporate so many cool techniques and instruments 🤟
@@Gusmcarthur I'm pretty sure this EP was the first time the girls themselves were involved in the songwriting process too; they have a few credits on some of the songs. Jiu wrote Dear, for example.

@@oliverhughes610 Actually Dami has been writing hers raps since "You and I" or "What" not sure wich one. Also she Wrote "Scar" from their second mini album. And she wrote some parts of Break the wall. And Jiu, Yoohyeon and Siyeon participated in the lyrics of few song on the Tree of lenguage. Siyeon "paradise" was part writing by her too. Dear is the firts one all Jiu, she also was part or the arrangest and composing.
Most of their b-sides are by them too. Composed, Arranged, Produced by the duo. Its somewhere in the range of 80% of their entire discog is by them. Its why if you ever go through all of their songs, the genres change, but the composition is always familiar. That's one of the reasons why a lot of the fanbase is all about the bsides. Its not filler, its just songs that don't fit the Dreamcatcher brand.

Well they are/were looking for female musicians, so..
As far as I know the lavalier mics are only used on songs when they do a choreo as well. So basically all their title tracks. Otherwise they use the better sounding hand held ones.

Have you guys checked out Dreamcatchers previous group Minx? It was 5/7 members of Dreamcatcher and they debuted in 2014 with Why Did You Come To My Home.. It's a huge concept switch. If you are interested in the girls and know the members etc it'd probably be a trip to see them do bubble gum pop, lol. Just a suggestion. Even if you don't react to it, I'd suggest looking it up for fun, haha.

Honan, might I suggest Monica Naranjo if you're interested in checking out artists who sing in Spanish? I'm not quite sure what genre she falls under but it's like pop/techno with some almost operatic vocal work at times. Think Tarja only with a husky, sultry voice and sometimes dance music instead of metal. She's kind of difficult to describe, haha.
