Honestly speaking it is just stereotype that gujarati dishes are sweet.There are many dishes like lasaniya bataka,dungaliyu is just like another level of spice(matters on from which place you are eating)

Vindaloo is the Indian (Goan) take on the Portuguese meat dish vinha d'alhos. Vinha means wine, and alhos means garlic. Goans replaced wine with palm vinegar in vindaloo.
