Now, I can only speak for myself but I enjoying working '9 to 5' I do tech support for a major hospital here in Philly. I enjoyed co-workers and my manager (we're getting together tomorrow for our annual Christmas party) and I do get paid well (been at the hospital for over 5 years and been doing tech support for over 20 years). Of course, want works for me doesn't mean is going to for someone else.

Be a Freelancer like being your own boss you won't regret it because you can make more income than normal job, and work as many hours as you want you will have more freedom than ever.
You are loving the dream Sue. I'm in the same position. My main priority is to keep my expenses as low as possible so that I can maximize my freedom. Good on you!!
I mean you would make more money likely. Not sure what doordashers make but I've heard its not much. Guess your fortunate that you can live with your parents and not have certain living expenses. But I do realize your helping them so that's great too. I've done similar for my parents
The only reason I criticize people who don’t do the normal 9-5 is when they judge people who work 9-5 and act like they’re better than those who do. My 9-5 has helped me buy a home, a car and provide for my family in ways that me “being there” aka physically present 24/7, never could
I work at in a few Restaurants in the Biggest Theme Park in the World… I make a lot of f money moving around Busting my Ass… I know exactly what you mean especially during this time of the year! I’m working Christmas Night so I expect to be Busy! I stopped working Doubles since I don’t need too anymore… Plus with my own Channel I make money there as well!
It really depends. I personally like my most of my coworkers. I work 4 10hrDays with a 3day weekend. Life feels pretty stable for me Ya kinda generalized here but yall do whatever to keep food on the table and a roof over your head. All that really matters
Must be nice to live rent-free, not have bills, spend most of the day watching and shooting videos, and to be able to look down on normal 9 to 5 work. I am now retired with a pension and social security, but I had to put in the work to get here.
You’re literally asking for hate at this point with titles like that lol, you can’t keep complaining about the negativity you get when you’re making these ridiculous videos knowing the type of comments you’re gonna have
9-5 jobs are not for me either Susan I used to work in a toxic environment and I used to work a night shift at Wal-Mart it sucked I quit over the phone to
You have a very jaded view of people that work a 9-5. Not all are the same. Could be really anything. Heck I’d take my movie passion and try to find something in that area, like working at a bull moose or something. But as you said, everyone is different.
There are a variety of jobs and more that are different. No 9 to 5 is the same. I do a night job at night , its moving and sitting. Yes I'm out in the cold at times and it irks me at times. But I've done it since 2018. Its one of my favorite jobs I have had. Working a 9 to 5 isn't a death sentence your thinking for a lot of us who do it. Plus it helps a collector get the things he wants lol.
I'm also an Amazonian. 5years going. It's been a FAR better experience for me than retail. I will say not All Amazons are the same so experience can vary greatly. I'm lucky to have a good team of people to work with.
As long as you're happy with what you do, that's all that matters. Unfortunately, some of us are not. If I don't have bills to pay and expenses, I would not be working at all. OR only IF...it's a big IF...I won millions of dollars from a lottery, I'd instantly quit my full-time job lol
Saying no to a traditional 9 to 5 is also likely saying no to generous benefits, including in my case, things like vacation and sick time, medical/dental/vision plans, company matching retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, tax saving medical flex plans, free life insurance and both short term and long term disability benefits. It looks sort of clueless and uninformed to knock a 9 to 5 job. It’s a job that has allowed me to buy a home and provide for my 3 kids. Sue, if you came down with pneumonia and couldn’t work for the next 3 weeks, wouldn’t that be a financial catastrophe? A traditional job allows you to better navigate these life events. I could be sick for the next 4 months without it jeopardizing my livelihood. It’s really ignorant to knock it. And you know what, I enjoy my job, make a good salary and my intelligence is respected and rewarded. Plus my work schedule is flexible and I can work around things like doctor and dentist appointments or a trip to the auto repair shop. It looks dumb to stereotype 9 to 5 jobs, not all of us are as miserable as you think.
@@MoviesSue you are lucky to live rent free. That’s the biggest expense by far most of us have. Would you be able to manage if you had to pay for housing? My guess is no.
While I get that not working a traditional 9-5 job isn’t for you, it does comes across as hypocritical because you’re saying how shitty it is to work a traditional 9-5 yet you are taken care of. You don’t have to worry about rent, insurance, HOA fees, etc. People who do have a 9-5 jobs wouldn’t be able to survive if they were to just work uber eats, door dash, etc. Also, working a 9-5 has other benefits, such as healthcare (dental and vision) and 401k. 401k is a big one that way you can actually enjoy retirement and not be working until the end of time.
No worries Sue. Jobs like that aren’t right for everything. I always say if everyone did the same thing and liked the same things, it would be very boring. What matters is you’re enjoying what you do and you help out your parents. Ty again for what you do.
The reality is that most people do not have the luxury of not having to work a 9-5 job. You say yourself that you’re fortunate that you don’t need to do that because of your situation. I think that if your situation was different and you HAD to work a 9-5 job you’d probably find very quickly that regardless of whether it’s soul crushing, you need to do it to survive. Which is why the majority of the population does it… Maybe you would be miserable if you had to do it, but not everyone who does is miserable. Most people enjoy the structure it provides. I’m just kinda perplexed by this video. I’ve been in support of you these last few months with how transparent and vulnerable you’ve been, but this video probably needed a bit more thought because it comes off like you’re simultaneously mad that people question your lifestyle (something you invite onto yourself when you post UA-cam videos about it) and also judging people for not doing what you do, whilst admitting that your situation allows for it where others may not have that luxury.
If I had to work a regular job, it would be waitressing again. A 9-5 job doesn't interest me. I understand most people work a 9-5 and that's great if they love it.
@@MoviesSueI know your intention wasn’t to patronize or judge anyone but I think it came off a bit hypocritical in this video. That’s all I’m saying. I wish you well regardless.
I myself am a full time 9-5er and I can admittedly say that I don’t love my job but I do it out of necessity and the responsibilities I have as an adult.
No offense man but that’s HER view. Yours is different so why are you taking time to pick on someone who is pouring her heart out when she doesn’t need to? She still works so you looking down on her and calling what she says “stereotypical”?
@@Trekapedia I mean they aren’t wrong per se. Like at all. Thought about the same time Sue isn’t either. She is just going off of her prior experience.
@@Trekapedia 1. I didn't say she was wrong , I said she had a stereotypical view of how a job is, and it is. I know that there's work where this is happening, but as she is now a public person, she can't expect everyone to not let her know they disagree. Just as you reacted on my comment (which is fine because that's your opinion), I am allowed to write down mine. And if you Google the definition of the word stereotypical, you would find that it fits. It's a really common occupational stereotype.
@@Trekapedia she is in fact stereotyping 9 to 5 jobs. She’s taking a very narrow view of that type of job, which she admits she has never worked, and ascribing and conflating that viewpoint to all 9 to 5 jobs. If she is asking viewers not to be closed minded about gig type jobs, she can’t simultaneously generalize, make inaccurate and unfounded assumptions and stereotype 9 to 5 jobs. That’s the dictionary definition of hypocrisy.
Coming from someone who works 5am-5pm 5 days a week I get moody, tired, angry etc HOWEVER I still enjoy my job it helps get me out of the house my supervisors are awesome I do wear what I want my pay is excellent my creativity/ artwork isn’t stifled when I’m not working and I suffer from depression and anxiety it’s human to work a 9-5 everybody hates work but we have to in order to live it is grown up to accumulate bills own a house etc that’s what separates teenagers and grownups. And on top of that I took care of my mother and handicapped sister and still had time to enjoy life I’m sorry but maybe I’m old fashioned but in my eyes getting paid for UA-cam videos isn’t a way to make money and I don’t consider it a job…..it’s something that you do for fun and hundreds of working class people think the same
If everyone did the same thing than the world would be so boring. Nobody is the same and if you like to be independent then good for you as long as you are happy ! I don't like 9 to 5 jobs and i am an independent ICT consultant and so companies hire me to do things for them. i decide when i work and i decide the price. been doing that for over 10 years now and i wouldn't want it any other way 😎
You are generalising about 9 -5 jobs they are very varied and many are satisfied with those hours they still have flexible working lives. Many dont work in an office space but still do those working hours.
@@MoviesSue Sue you are losing support here and going to be forced to do 9-5 with no other options since YT is not working out. You better quit digging in and just remove this video.
You can't sustain a quality of life without putting in work one way or the other. Even those who live off the grid and pay no bills have to work for their food, heat, shelter, which is arguably harder than most 9-5's. Unless you come from money or you're bumming off friends and relatives you need to get to work. If you're a youtuber or influencer you still have to shoot the videos, make content people want to see, and guess what... that's work! Believe it or not some people like to work.
The thing is they aren't really 9-5 these days, there is a lot of flexibility out there, the terminology should be a 'full time' job. I can assure you that I'm not miserable having to work and it would be way more soul crushing being 30 grand in debt without a steady income. Plus, I don't work in a cubicle and I can wear a hoody everyday People only suggested it as a way for you to clear your debt quicker, you could quit after that
@MoviesSue it just sounds like you work a few hours here and there to make ends meet, which is fine. Life isn't all about working but if you're full time then not much more you can do, I don't agree with anyone doing more than 40 hours a week - got to have a balance.
There's nothing wrong with a 9-5. If someone is providing for themselves and family and it works for them, whether that be a 9-5 or a content creator, that is something to be proud of. It's when people are capable of working and providing for themselves and choose not to and live off the system then I have no respect for you. Nothing but a drain on society.
Oh no. First I don’t think your intention here is to rub people the wrong way. I think you know what works for you and that is most important. That said, while I understand your sentiment and there’s no shame in working odd hour jobs, I don’t agree with the notion that people working 9-5’s are necessarily miserable. That’s painting people with a very broad stroke. My husband, for instance, is a video game designer, loves his job. It’s his passion. He has been behind some great games that people have played through the years. The point is the fact that it’s 9-5 has nothing to do with how he enjoys his work. I say if you enjoy what you do for a living, whether it is your passion or not, you’re doing things right. Some people need the structure that a 9-5 gives them but they could never handle the commitment that being an influencer demands on, say, Instagram. It’s all relative to what your interests are and where your strengths lie. As a stay at home dad, my job hours are all over the place. Some people think that means I have it “easy” but don’t understand the isolation and loneliness that can come with it. Still, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s hard but rewarding work, and I prefer it to any 9-5. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think there’s value in those jobs too, however.
I'm happy that 9-5 works for some people, it just wouldn't for me. The "miserable" comment was actually a joke and it seems to be what everyone is focusing on. My intention wasn't to insult. Just my preference.
I liked learning about your work history i definitely understand why a 9 to 5 would not be good for you, I bet you were a great waitress! Glad you are happy. Stay beautiful and appreciate the videos.
It depends what you do. I studied to be a x-ray tech in P.R. And worked at a big hospital from 3:00pm to 11:00pm and loved it as this is what I chose. Well in 2012 I relocated to NY to work here. So what happened was that the government mistook me for somebody with my same name and ruined my life. I ended up homeless and lost my career in the medical field. God how I suffered!😭 Nowadays I live in a building and I'm stable. I work as a translator because I speak 4 languages. But not in 1 place I travel all over the city at whatever time I'm needed as I'm Per-Diem. And that's what I like about it traveling and different hours. But 3 years ago I was approved SSI and SSDI benefits from Social Security and I'm allowed to be a translator because all I do is talk!🤑 But I would rather had my x-ray tech position at a diagnostic imaging center if I could have it. But yeah there's so many ways of making money nowadays. You go sis!🤗
@extofer like I'm stable but not happy. I have been under psychiatric therapy since 2015 because I was left emotionally scarred by 8 years of government abuse and persecution. To make matters worse I sued the government and the corrupt judges of Monroe County did illegal action to be able to dismiss all 3 cases! So the government got away with everything and I wasn't even compensated for damages and losses. So no I'm not happy!😭
You want to see the spitting definition of miserable? Go into any walmart anywhere and look for their employees. They are being micro-managed to the extreme. They also do not get paid enough to survive. Why do some people persist at working at walmart, it boggles my mind. I'm changing jobs next year, I've had enough of 'mandatory back-breaking speed and labor' because it all has to get done.
If Sue’s work preferences offended you, then I’m afraid life is going to be very difficult for you. I work a 9-5 and love it. Sue doesn’t work a 9-5 and loves it. That’s fine. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to work. Stop being so soft.
I dont know, my job allows me to have a house, car, money in the bank, watch and buy movies, have health insurance, and a HUGE amount in retirement! Dont act like your living like Elon Musk.
9-5 is what your country is built on , without the 9-5 is what hard working do because they have to survive , dont be so naive to think that every job is what you describe people forge new friendship's and not everyone has your mindset to working maybe you have had a privileged life ? I have been doing 9-5 since I was 16 years old so over 40 years, yes work is hard but it's also rewarding. Not everyone at work is your friend , there are 100 of thousands of people who don't have jobs that want to work.
I’m honestly shocked how many crybabies came here to write 5 paragraph responses explaining how offended they are. Y’all doing that AT your 9-5 that you work so hard at, or after? I’m not sure I even believe these people because who has time for all that? Get a life. Sue, ignore people that are clearly looking to be angry at someone and decided to waste their time bitching about you instead of reflecting on themselves and their own obvious insecurities.
I am way behind on UA-cam lately so just watched this video today, and her followup apology video. It's not shocking at all people were upset because the majority of the people that are watching her videos and other UA-cam videos are likely the 9-5 people and it sounded like she was being demeaning to her audience. I'm not surprised in the least that people got pissed off and she lost subs, and I know she came back and apologized wether she need to do that or not, but I'm just saying it's actually not shocking in the least.
I’m sorry, but what is a 9-5 job nowadays? Your current perception of these jobs is inaccurate unfortunately. You also do have a boss, the gig economy companies and your customers are your bosses. 😅
@@MoviesSue I respect your opinions and understand why you have decided to pursue what you are seeking. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your decision. But there are indeed “9-5” type jobs that have similar arrangements based on occupation, skill levels, etc. Technology has helped in this regard. I don’t even have to go into the office most days, especially when I have to travel. Based on your assessment/notion of a 9-to-5, I could consider being part of that and can say that I absolutely love what I do. It took years, but I am an expert in my field and thus enjoy a more lax level of autonomy, which in turn allows me to put a bit more time into my hobby of collecting. A 9-5 isn’t for everyone, but it’s a lot less traditional than it once was and has more upsides, especially if one chooses to work on what they love, thankfully.
@@Christian.o.acevedoI think you completely missed Sue’s point and are clearly more concerned with correcting her notion of what a “9-5” could be than understanding where she is coming from. Ya kinda generalized here but yall do whatever to keep food on the table and a roof over your head. All that really matters
This Video was a Mistake by you.
You're entitled to feel that way, but I don't think so.
Must be nice to live rent-free, not have bills, spend most of the day watching and shooting videos, and to be able to look down on normal 9 to 5 work. I am now retired with a pension and social security, but I had to put in the work to get here.
Who said I didn't have bills? I just don't have a rent/mortgage payment.
@@MoviesSue My error...
Not having rent in this economy is an EXTREMELY privileged position to be in. Just saying.
@@Talesfromtheshelf I know I'm extremely lucky for my current position. I don't take it for granted. Just sayin'.
@@MrCineMayo She didn't say she looked down on 9 to 5 work. She just said it wasn't for her. You're getting offended for no reason.
You’re literally asking for hate at this point with titles like that lol, you can’t keep complaining about the negativity you get when you’re making these ridiculous videos knowing the type of comments you’re gonna have
Just talking about my life and responding to comments.
9-5 jobs are not for me either Susan I used to work in a toxic environment and I used to work a night shift at Wal-Mart it sucked I quit over the phone to
Sue there are more jobs that you can work remotely. They pay really well.
You have a very jaded view of people that work a 9-5. Not all are the same. Could be really anything. Heck I’d take my movie passion and try to find something in that area, like working at a bull moose or something. But as you said, everyone is different.
Unfortunately there's no Bullmoose near me.
You work to put money back for retirement. Like 401k, social security. What are you going to do when you have nothing saved up.
Once I pay all of my credit card debt I will.
If you enjoy your job, that's wonderful!
I work a hybrid remote and government office job. It could be worse.
Without having a "normal" 9 to 5, do you have health insurance?
Or a 41k for retirement
Yes I do.
I’m a worker at Amazon, we work 10 hour 4 days a week. Not to bad.
@stevenaguirre- just curious, what do you do at Amazon. Fill orders? Shipping?
that job is terrible bro, I left after 4 days of work. It has a high turnover rate but everybody is different.
OR
only IF...it's a big IF...I won millions of dollars from a lottery, I'd instantly quit my full-time job lol
If it works for you, that's great. That type of job isn't what I want.
@@MoviesSue you are lucky to live rent free. That’s the biggest expense by far most of us have. Would you be able to manage if you had to pay for housing? My guess is no.
@@MoviesSueyou don’t want all those perks?
While I get that not working a traditional 9-5 job isn’t for you, it does comes across as hypocritical because you’re saying how shitty it is to work a traditional 9-5 yet you are taken care of. You don’t have to worry about rent, insurance, HOA fees, etc. People who do have a 9-5 jobs wouldn’t be able to survive if they were to just work uber eats, door dash, etc. Also, working a 9-5 has other benefits, such as healthcare (dental and vision) and 401k. 401k is a big one that way you can actually enjoy retirement and not be working until the end of time.
I never said working a 9-5 was shitty. I said it simply isn't for me.
I have a part time and I make my schedule and it works for me. And I work on my feet. I know I couldn't work at a sit still job
How many times do you have to tell people that you live at home to take care of your mom? Jeez.
Why does it bother you so much?
@MoviesSue I mean they keep asking after you told them already numerous times
No worries Sue. Jobs like that aren’t right for everything. I always say if everyone did the same thing and liked the same things, it would be very boring. What matters is you’re enjoying what you do and you help out your parents. Ty again for what you do.
The reality is that most people do not have the luxury of not having to work a 9-5 job. You say yourself that you’re fortunate that you don’t need to do that because of your situation. I think that if your situation was different and you HAD to work a 9-5 job you’d probably find very quickly that regardless of whether it’s soul crushing, you need to do it to survive. Which is why the majority of the population does it…
Maybe you would be miserable if you had to do it, but not everyone who does is miserable.
Your view is so stereotypical. Do you really believe that a 9-5 job is how you describe it as? I couldn't disagree more. All jobs are different...
Coming from someone who works 5am-5pm 5 days a week I get moody, tired, angry etc
HOWEVER I still enjoy my job it helps get me out of the house my supervisors are awesome I do wear what I want my pay is excellent my creativity/ artwork isn’t stifled when I’m not working and I suffer from depression and anxiety it’s human to work a 9-5 everybody hates work but we have to in order to live it is grown up to accumulate bills own a house etc that’s what separates teenagers and grownups.
I don't like 9 to 5 jobs and i am an independent ICT consultant and so companies hire me to do things for them. i decide when i work and i decide the price. been doing that for over 10 years now and i wouldn't want it any other way 😎
"We're going into the year 2025" --- uggh...sheeesh, don't remind me.
You are generalising about 9 -5 jobs they are very varied and many are satisfied with those hours they still have flexible working lives. Many dont work in an office space but still do those working hours.
If working a 9-5 works for you, that's great!
@@MoviesSue Sue you are losing support here and going to be forced to do 9-5 with no other options since YT is not working out. You better quit digging in and just remove this video.
Must be nice to not have to work I'm 56 and I get up and work even when I'm sick. I want to keep a roof over my head
I do work. I have 2 income sources.
I understand that. I never said being a content creator wasn't work.
The thing is they aren't really 9-5 these days, there is a lot of flexibility out there, the terminology should be a 'full time' job.
I can assure you that I'm not miserable having to work and it would be way more soul crushing being 30 grand in debt without a steady income.
Plus, I don't work in a cubicle and I can wear a hoody everyday
People only suggested it as a way for you to clear your debt quicker, you could quit after that
Why do you assume I don't work full time?
@MoviesSue it just sounds like you work a few hours here and there to make ends meet, which is fine.
Life isn't all about working but if you're full time then not much more you can do, I don't agree with anyone doing more than 40 hours a week - got to have a balance.
@@bumpersmovies no I actually work 6-7 days a week.
@bumpersmovies She works no more than 4 hours a day. So yes you're right, she isn't full time. Doesn't matter how many days it's over.
I'm not living off the system.
@MoviesSue i never said you were
❤
I liked learning about your work history i definitely understand why a 9 to 5 would not be good for you, I bet you were a great waitress! Glad you are happy. Stay beautiful and appreciate the videos.
I appreciate the kind words.
Wow what a journey you’ve been on. I hope you’re well and happy!
I'm so happy you bounced back and are doing well!
Do what's best for yourself.
Just keep being Sue. You're doing great at it!

9-5 is what your country is built on , without the 9-5 is what hard working do because they have to survive , dont be so naive to think that every job is what you describe people forge new friendship's and not everyone has your mindset to working maybe you have had a privileged life ?

Yes people obviously own the company, but I don't speak to them.
