Is this vehicle really designed in UK ????? That's really not the fully story. It's a vertically integrated Chinese company that opened a UK design center to maintain the claim to being British, primarily in fact for the Chinese market - many Chinese shoppers also don't trust Chinese companies, so this gives it the idea that that's a European company, whatever stereotypes you want to add to that, but made locally here in China. Basically it's a marketing move - the design team might be called MG motor and be in the UK, but they are directly overseen by SAIC in the UK, who answer to their bosses in China. It's a world apart from a UK company that's outsourcing manufacture, and it's basically the same thing TATA motors did with jaguar and land rover - keep the design teams in the UK because nobody is going to buy an overtly Indian Jag. My guess is though that whilst the landrover and jag teams have quite a bit of freedom inside TATA motors, MG do not, as evidenced by what's coming out of them - overtly Chinese style cars not popular even in the UK with MG badges on them.
but unfortunately we here in Sri lanka have left with no options........

JLR design vehicles in India or UK, MG in china or uk etc.. really doesn't matter now everyone hires designers. What we are looking for is the price vs quality factor.
SIAC has VW plants in china, GM engine technology partnerships which both companies get the benefits.
JLR targetting luxury crowd, MG target normal folks even in UK or Australia. Still, JLR vehicles are proven to be unreliable and costly to maintain.
When you go through so many cars you will find that made in factor is not a proper scale to separate cars now. Anyway thanks for your comment bro.

I didnot hear anywhere mentioning the name " MORRIS GARAGE " which stands for MG. The language used is SINGIRISI. Funny. Movable sun roof is not fit to srilanka as we are a tropical weather country with full of sun light.We have rain every now & then, movable parts in the sunroof easily get corroded as time goes . Its full of chinese components.
