  • How to Find Pelvic Neutral Using Pelvic Tilts

I thought we would do a deeper dive, this time without a helper, to see if we could shine a little more light on the topic of finding a neutral pelvis.⁣

Being able to find a neutral pelvis is great, but I am not a fan of always having a neutral pelvis. It is important to be able to move into a posterior pelvic tilt and an anterior pelvic tilt as well. Movement is good! I have always been a fan of real life sports, and those require us to move in all sorts of ways. So finding a rigid neutral and holding it all day is not a great idea in my opinion. We were meant to move our bodies! (I will step off my soapbox now 😂)⁣

But what if the way we are holding our bodies leads to aches, pains, and tightness? Then it is time to take a look at how we are holding our bodies and see what we can adjust to get us out of pain. ⁣

I love for the ladies in my membership group to know what it feels like to have a neutral pelvis so when I give them exercises and say they need to be in a posterior/anterior pelvic tilt, they know exactly what I mean. ⁣

Watch the video for a detailed explanation of what it means to have a neutral pelvis, posterior pelvic tilt, and anterior pelvic tilt. Hopefully being able to easily see the bones on my pelvis model will make it super easy to understand.⁣

Were you able to go through the various postures and feel the difference between a posterior tilt and an anterior tilt?⁣

When doing hip bridges should we be in posterior pelvic tilt to increase glute activation? I find that when I am in neutral , my hamstrings fire a lot more. However, when I try doing posterior pelvic tilt I still don’t feel the glutes fire much.

You can do them with a posterior tilt to really get your glutes firing. Do you glutes fire first or do your hamstrings fire first? Watch this video and see if that helps your figure that out: ua-cam.com/video/Df7b8_MB4Jw/v-deo.html
