- Hello,
Here is something different... I wanted to do something simple that use only the very nice sound of the new piano C7. In the past, piano sounds were just ok in the Yamaha keyboards (yes....). This time, on the Genos... it's much better with C7 and CFX!!!
So here it is... this very well know song that I have a bit interpreted a bit far from the original (sorry!).
Ah.. I also use the new feature that is "Dynamic Style Control".. this is very good to give more expression to the music.

I tried it for a while but i think i am going to get a volume pedal and try that for a while. I cant play jazz like you can. The dynamic control was a little tricky with pop music for me. But i think everyone should try it!
David Muirheid Hmmm I see! There is a need to practice a bit although I find it quite intuitive ...the advantage from the volume pedal is that you can still play loud with the right hand and decrease the volume of the accompaniment

Fab playin. A classy rendition using the real time arrangement capabilities of Yamaha Genos. Demonstrates real-time arrangers should be taken seriously. Particularly since the current interest in Ableton Live looping technologies. Of course Yamaha just made it easier with Genos.

Yes but I’ve watched your video again and you’re working with the pattern in the machine as if you’re part of the band. This is why your arrangement feels natural and real. Your feel matches that of the style, hence the superb rendition. Just like being in a real band - only having them at hand not needing a rehearsal room above a pub!
@@vacation_generation Thanks for coming back with a very nice comment. You are listening very carefully to the music! Actually, I have made the style thinking about the song I wanted to play on it. I sing the song in my head while making the rythmics and bass to match the song when I will later play on it... That might be the reason why the band is matching when I play. How did you set up your Genos to give you this piano trio setting? This is exactly what I'm trying to get my new one to do -- bass and drums being generated by Genos, while I comp in my left hand and improvise/play melody in right hand. I just got my Genos and can't figure out how to do this. I've been waiting for a call back from Yamaha for 3 days to ask this and many other questions. Would you mind sharing this set up to help a Genos beginner?? Thanks ever so much.
