    Magnificent Exampleof Cadillac at it's finest when it truly was the Standard of the World! My late brother had a 68 75 FULL Limo! What an incredible vehicle. I had an 89 Brougham DeElegance DeElegance which had many similar interior features to this. Cadillac was evolutionary back then. 🏆. So 😔 sad to see what is currently considered a luxury vehicle! 😕

      @@rick0e295 exactly. They now look like every other car on the road. Plastic bumpers. No chrome. No fishtails. 1977 began the downward trend. They used a plastic front. The hood no longer went all the way to the front. Engine went from a 500 to a 425. Power windows were slow. The fleetwood 75 had a sliding partition window like in NYC taxi cab! Pathetic! In 1980 they went back to the wide body but that HT4100 engine was a disaster. And now they look like every other car on the road

      What’s the matter with the wrap? So long as it’s the traditional lacing type that matches the interior, it’s better than those big, tacky, stretchy, doughnut types; that you buy at Walmart.
      And besides, maybe he’s hiding cracks in the steering wheel- cracks I’d rather not know about!

      @@MrTitan225: I'd like to have one of the older Cadillacs, and only recently have given up on that dream. I think running them (gas guzzlers) will become more costly with anticipated much higher fossil fuel taxes, and EPA regulations may ban them from the roads altogether unless they are converted to better fuel efficiency and fitted with catalytic converters. I could be wrong but don't need the aggravation.

    The Fleetwood 75 series Formal Sedan to me is a great looking car,the 71 and 72 were just a beautiful car.The nice feature till 77 was the front and rear separate heater ac systems that shared the same A-6 compressor.They had the roof mounted ceiling vents and separate Climate control for the rear section with a power glass rear partition,and a separate radio controls that overruled the drivers .The last year for the true GM Cadillac produced Fleetwood 75 Formal Sedan Limosine was 1984.

    Is it plausible to actually drive this around and park it?Just wondering because I want one very badly

    • @procatiu
      @procatiu 5 років тому +2

      Yes, if you back into a parking place with a sidewalk, you can hang the trunk over the sidewalk and have the front at a normal length. If you are pulling through a spot, you'll leave enough room for a smart car to park behind. Turning radius is quiet poor. Also prepare yourself for 6.5mpg city driving and 9.5 for freeway, the Series 75 have higher gearing which reduces mpg.
      These were made in two styles, ether with a partition/divider or family sedan style. The ones with a partition/divider isn't very comfortable to drive.

    This was built by Cadillac, not a customizer. If I remember correctly, MSRP was something like $12,000! Comparison, a fully equipped 1972 AMC Ambassador wagon was just under $4500, and a mid-level Winnebago motor home could be had for under $15,000. Just a way to understand inflation a little better. Of course cars and RVs are arguably better quality, have more features (like more than just an AM radio) give more crash protection to their occupants, get somewhat better fuel economy, and pollute less. A 1970s Winnie was an aluminum siding covered, wood frame box on a Dodge truck chassis, rather than an integrally-designed unit on a purpose-built platform.

    Is the vinyl roof spray painted? It shines.
    I am looking for a 1973 (or 1975/76) formal limousine for when I retire, as I probably will prefer not to drive myself, when pass 75 or so.

      I started driving my first 1973 Cadillac Coupe dé Ville in 1986, when I was 25.
      I stood out for sure, but I already had a reputation by then, why it didn't come as a surprise to people.
      Except for a 1 or 2 of my teachers in college. They hated it.
      Cadillac was my all year round daily driver untill 2002, when I bouth my Mark IV.
      Since then my car have been a March-November car, except for the 1989 Cadillac, which is insured to drive all year round, if requested.
