  • Welcome to the Pier City Cycles Tutorial Series. In these videos, we hope to show you a range of jobs or mods that you can carry out on your BMW R9T or R18. We hope to cover those simple jobs which new owners might not feel confident in asking, all the way through to the signature mods we use to transform our builds.
    In this tutorial, we'll show you how to remove the battery on the BMW R9T. This is a task that often seems a little daunting (especially if you read the Forums) because there are a few different processes that need to be completed, however, in reality it takes a small amount of tools and only 20 minutes of your time in the garage to carry out. It is especially useful to watch our tank removal video before watching this one;

    I just bought a lightly used 2023, that didn’t come with a manual.
    That bolt idea is brilliant!

    Honestly BMW are complete monkeys for hiding the battery like that.

    So without a final view of the battery cover in place, I assume the battery clamp/spring clip is still visible.

      This is correct, the battery strap holds the cover in place.
