    Dang!!! Those roads at around @7:57, are crazy!!! They look like they were built by Lazy Lugard himself when he created Nigeria (like who asked him!). Actually I think his headquarters was in Selena (check Wikipedia 😁😁). Also, those atrocious roads is indicative of what's wrong with so-called Nigeria. Cities and towns like Suleja or even Kano or Benin city do not have elected executives and legislatures. Imagine New York City, Baltimore, Atlanta or even Macon, GA without mayors and city/town councils! It would be total chaos, right? Well, that's Naija. That's why local roads are in such deplorable conditions. Who states in Naija, like... Niger State are run like tiny municipalities in like say... the U.S or even China.
    And, this is why we need to restructure the country, with political, economic and cultural decentralization. Till, then Brittney aka our wife, we will have to comfort ourselves with your rhapsodizing about bad roads... which Gideon wasn't feeling at all. 😁😁😁

      @BrittneyCaldwell  Рік тому +3

      @ qutieqouture6846. Go to Saudi Arabia and complain about the unelected crown prince of Al Saud since you believe that gentrified American cities are the gold standard of local government. Nigeria has had enough of you self-hating fence straddlers undermining the millions of people who grind to make a living there while offering *no solutions* to local problems.

    Hi Brittney, I sincerely appreciate you bringing the hidden beauty of Nigeria to us...... But it's funny that it is taking an American to show Naija people what we have here... This place is so beautiful that it is a gold mine waiting to be explored. This place can be developed into a fantastic water park for various water sports activities. In my mind, I am seeing several water slides, jet ski's, inflatable water obstacle facility, then garnish it with a 5-star resort... i bet u, with our weather, and no fuel subsidy wahala 🤪, the facility would be fully booked all year round....... ohh my Naija when will u wake up.......

    The average Nigerian, especially male is preoccupied with survival. He is expected to provide for his family or at least support someone. Tourism is for people whose basic needs are being met. The people that can afford such luxury typically travel abroad. Domestic tourism is limited by poor security and infrastructure. Besides, there is very little advertising and promotion of attractions. Nigeria used to have a good transportation infrastructure. Now it is poor and unpredictable. We also lack water and electricity which makes small business difficult to start. There is no maintenance culture. As you can see, even Abuja is not well kept. Most of the city sidewalks are falling apart. Refuse management is poor. Some states over the last decade or so have invested substantially in infrastructure. Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Ebonyi have impressive road networks. If Ebonyi can build good roads and bridges with a small budget, no state government in Nigeria has an excuse not to deliver quality roads. Corruption is the bane of Nigeria.

      @BrittneyCaldwell Some may view this as negative comments, but the sooner one faces reality, the better. Nigeria will turn around when enough people realize things need to change. The development of Nigeria will eclipse China once we get it right.

    You need to be careful where you go to in Nigeria due to Fulani terrorists kidnapping and killing people. I understand you need content but not at the cost of a life. We Nigerians don't travel unnecessary due to security concerns. This area is in Kogi state, which is a hot bed for Fulani jihadist terrorist.

    • @qutieqouture6846
      @qutieqouture6846 Рік тому +2

      I didn't want to kill her vibe. But na true you talk. We thank God for His mercy and protection. I believe it was Shiroro dam in Niger/Kogi that is well know to be under control of bandits. They even killed some so!diers. But also that's was because their was some Chinese mining in that area.
      However, in this situation, she didn't just go blindly. Someone else had recently gone there. And done so without incident. I think she should continue that way. Follow others footsteps. If they made it safely then that reduces the risk for her.
      Anyways, another reason we need to restructure the country, so that local communities can be empowered to police and protect life and property - with safeguards that protect civil and human rights, of course.
