As a lifelong Protestant, the Rosary is one of the major things that has started to bring me home to the Catholic Church. I've never felt as connected to our Lord as I do when I'm praying the Rosary, nor have I ever felt as much peace. I try to do it every day, especially as I move toward conversion.
I've begun to teach myself Latin by praying the Rosary. Praying in Latin while meditating on the mysteries has removed the anxiety and depression I have struggled with all my life. The Rosary is our sword. God Bless you Bishop Barron. 🙏✝️
I've prayed my rosary in Latin for years. One reason: I was disturbed when something else was going on in Church in English (my native language). I discovered that if I prayed in Latin then I could say my rosary peacefully no matter what language was being used around me. Not too many people speak Latin!
@@PiepenHaus Very wise and interesting point of view! I usually pray in my native tongues and Latin, but I often sing Gregorian (and other) chants to steady myself throughout the day.
In India in the state of Goa, we Catholics have a tradition. Every year the statue of Mother Mary, goes from the church into each and every house belonging to the parish. And on the day it comes to a person's house. The neighbors, and the family of that person, comes together to pray the Rosary, followed by the Litany. Its a very beautiful tradition. Although obviously , they cldnt do it in 2020 but i hope they do it this year.
Beautiful! We have something similar in my region, South of Brazil. We call them "Little Chapels" (a bit biggger than a shoe box). every group of 30 families have one, and it goes to every house once a month.
I can't believe this happened....I have been thinking why Bishop Barron never posted a video where we can pray the rosary with him...Now I can't wait to share it with my family!!
Our family of 12 gathered each night after supper to pray the rosary. My thoughts now as a senior are that it was Mom’s way of reinforcing family values and bonds (and re-centering herself, after another challenging day of raising 10 children). My thoughts then as the second youngest was that it was a stifling, repetitive, non-productive activity, to be avoided whenever I could get away with it. Bishop Robert Barron, your insightful way of bringing me back to this staple of Christian family life is much appreciated and highly valued, with many thanks to you, your mentor Cardinal George, and Word on Fire!
I started 3 rosaries a day 2 years ago and my life and depression improved enormously. Your new rosaries are super and I use them every day. Converted to Catholicism 20 years ago.
We pray the rosary because it's the Gospel on a set of beads. I once used it for a root canal and had no other means of medicine. The tooth was infected. The doctor was impressed, because I was in pain. I told him that was God's power at work. I also use it when I had to have my pacemaker put in. God bless you, Bishop Barron for this topic. Two priests came to visit me when I had it placed. They came to bless me after and before. Because they didn't want to tell me that my father had a massive heart attack 💔⚕️ on the same day that I was having my pacemaker put in. And that he was having 4 stints installed. My father is slowly falling asleep 😴 in the Lord. I pray that he will go to heaven so that I can see him again someday.
I'm an Anglican and I do the rosary. During Lent, I've been doing it daily. I don't enjoy it on Tuesdays and Fridays, but it is important to meditate on the sorrowful mysteries.
I pray the rosary when I can because I have severe anxiety and find focussing on anything very difficult. When I am able to sit I find it does help calm me a little to pray it.
It’s amazing reading every comment posted here, the power of the Rosary is indeed a miracle worker, thanks to everyone, I’m sure that Jesus and Mary are very happy with all your testimonies 🙏♥️🙏 Bishop Barron is a miracle worker, too, as you all has been touched by his “healing words from Scriptures!” Not only you, but myself too, because even if I’m a cradle Catholic, faithfully obedient to Our Lord’s teachings, and a true child of Mary, honestly, I have still gained a lot from Bishop Barron whose powerful teachings through his personal experienced and studies here and abroad has deeply taught me so much more 👏 When we pray the Four Mysteries from Joyful , Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious, in one setting, we will be following the “LIVES OF JESUS AND OF MARY” try to contemplate every Mystery, focus, and imagine Jesus and Mary in their memorable journey together, how very amazing, indeed, the Holy Rosary is the most extraordinary History of our Lord and His Virgin Mother to whom He said “Behold your Mother!” in Calvary ✝️ I started praying all four mysteries (takes only an hour or so with a minute of meditation) and I noticed how much each mystery has touched my life, loving this devotion more and more (I’m a grandma who tears up easily) Sorry for this long comment, it inspired me to share after reading everyone’s wonderful and amazing testimonies 🙏 Jesus Mary and Joseph, our Holy Family, we love You 👨👩👦
I was being tortured by the world to give up faith in Christ. God is so distant in our world. I needed something to lure me back each day and keep me focused on my blessed hope. Bishop Barron's passion for the rosary and his book got me interested. I am a protestant and a seminary graduate. I really struggled to pray the rosary as Protestants don't like praying to Mary. However I did my own research and understand the importance of Mary in Christian theology. The Rosary forces you to review your faith and engage in Christ. Soliciting Mary's prayers is powerful. Now after months of using a Rosary, so much has changed. The more I learn how to pray the better it gets. I also love Rugged Rosaries as I have really big hands and like this video suggests you are physically holding something. I found them through a search and am not promoting them, but they are such an honorable company.
You filled in a peice of a puzzle for me. At a point in my life when I had adopted a daily meditation practice, one night I was laying in bed stressed and freaking out. Then, my soul said, "look, it's freaking out," referring to my mind. I realized that was my soul watching my mind. As you pointed out, the mind was all over the place and my soul was chilling out.
Thank you Bishop Barron, God bless you always. The Rosary is powerful, it is life-changing to pray the Rosary always. It is hard to explain but the graces from the Rosary is super real, it is life-changing, but it took practice to get used to Rosaries.
I’ve been praying a Daily Rosary for almost 3 months and have definitely noticed many graces from doing so. Even got a finger Rosary for my morning commute
His explanation of the Rosary is spot on in my very limited experience. To anyone who hasn’t tried this prayer and practice, please heed the Bishops words.
A meditation on the life of Jesus and devotion to Our Blessed Lady the first saint, I believe, and a way to honor her in thanksgiving for her Magnificat.
No other prayer in my experience makes the enemy flee, like the Rosary does. It transforms the mind, heart and ones very desires itself! It's unexplainable. Everytime.
Very well said! It's very wise what you said about how the surface of the soul rushes and its depth goes slow. It's like the sea! An image that shows me the beauty of the rosary is the screw. Everytime we turn it, it locks more firmly
Since the New Year I've been teaching my 5 and 3 year old daughters the rosary. We did a decade a day, Monday through Friday, through the mysteries. Now we're building up and doing 2 or 3 decades a day. My 5yo has memorized the closing prayers better than me, lol!

A good friend of mine ,a Hindu always carries a rosary with him ,and we pray together most of the days ..Thank you Bishop Barron for revealing the value of rosary ..
My father passed away on the 5th of July. In normal times, a family in my part of the world ( rural Cork, ireland), would have had a rosary on one night, a removal (from a funeral home or from the deceased home) and finally, a mass and burial......all a bit rushed. Due to these strange times, there wasn't a "removal ". He passed away Monday. We had a rosary on Tuesday evenying. Beautiful explanation of the Rosary 📿. As a child, my grandmother made us kneel down every night and pray the rosary. I didn't like it much at the time, but it grew on me and to this day, my day is not complete without it. Thank you Blessed Mother, Jesus, for the rosary.
Thanks. Of all the academic writings and magazine articles, that are forgotten over time, I am amazed that the prayers of the rosary remain imprinted deep in my bones, after months, years of not praying.
In my youth I lived in Dublin and was part of what was called the Legion of Mart and for the 3 beads which we call he trinity we prayed the glory be to the father and which we prayed at the end, in oth er words at the going out rather than going in to the Rosary---?
you are so right, dear Robert Barron (call Jesus by his name, not his title LOL so forgive me please!). I was in despair, my wife had stopped speaking with me, she lives in Italy, where I lived too but life is not easy. I feel a strong attachment for her. Silence lasted 5 months. The rosary brought me back to life.. the mere entering a church does the same. Among things I find it breaks the your concentration on your self.
It's not biblical though and the rosary wasn't even a thing til the 13th century when a Saint said Mary Jesus mother came to him and told him to do it or whatever
I love how the Lord reveals himself through various ideologies like the rosary, and God is so good. God is so gracious. Great meditation & reflection that is tangible, like he mentioned. I grew up Catholic but went through two bad bouts of scrupulously. Only a Catholic priest/ bishop can understand its torments. St. Augustine, Luther, if I recall correctly, suffered in this way, and some others. I am free of it. What a hellish experience it. So I have to be careful how deep my mind goes. But boy, I love the things of God. I like coming to his page. I love how reflective this Bishop is!! I fully cannot explain how much I absorb from his videos. God bless you!! It feels like coming home. 😊 Thank you.
Your Excellency Bishop Barron thanks for sharing your wisdom about the HOLY ROSARY. God bless you always! Praying for you. We Priests started our youtube channel to pray the HOLY ROSARY for promoting Vocations to the Priesthood, Religious life, Diaconate, Married life. For End of Pandemic. May the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary Be with us always! Amen...
I would strongly recommend reading The Secret of the Holy Rosary by Saint Louis Marie Grignont de Montfort. He goes into deep detail of how important it is. And I'm finishing it at the moment.
Glory! I was hoping for a while that you would produce some content focused on the rosary! Thanks for the great work you continue to contribute to Christ's church.
These wise words illuminate the deep meaning of the Rosary and why Mary requested the children of Fatima to pray the Rosary daily. My dear deceased brother, when he retired from being a physician at 75 yr, prayed all four decades of the Rosary every single day until his death at 84 years old. He never missed and it took him Two hours daily but it was always at the top of his list.He showed me and others the blessings of devotion to Blessed Mary.
Amen. Prayer is the greatest Evangelization. Bishop Gomez Consecration to Jesus through Blessed Mary to the USA. I put on my front window of my house Pray the Rosary. Most Beautiful Prayer the Blessed Mother pleads with us to pray. Like a Spiritual Baptism of Grace every day. Move your Statue of Jesus and Mary to the Front of your house. Their images are powerful and healing. It sticks in the mind who's eyes gaze upon. Evangelization
DON'T BE DECEIVED, Brethren in Christ Jesus... God seeks those True Christian Worshippers who worship God in Spirit and in Truth (not through Statues, Idols, Icons, Medallions, Scapulars, Novenas, Rosary, Dead Saints, etc.) ...(ref. John 4:23)... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.
I really struggle with saying the Rosary, the distractions are like minding mice at a crossroads. But this is a very helpful perspective on it, and how it's very structure is purposeful for the soul which likes to move slowly.
I have very little time praying the Rosary this semester; college classes aren't all that forgiving to me in terms of workload. I've already missed 3 days worth of praying the Rosary this past week. How easy it would be to abstain from homework during Lent.
The Rosary will wait for you and someday it will be a beautiful habit. Missing it occasionally is not the end... just return to it quietly without self-recrimination. When I have a busy day I pray the Rosary while doing a physical task (walking the dog, making dinner) - I put in my earbuds and play a UA-cam rosary. You're in a busy season now; pray to the Blessed Mother for yourself, for a little breathing room 🌹
Well, I am 67 and could never pray the Rosary. I could not say the Hail Mary and at the same time, meditate on the Mysteries. If I tried to pray it by myself, it was a 2 hour ordeal. If I went to weekday Mass, the people praying the Rosary afterwards would say it so fast, I felt as if I was simply reciting the alphabet. It felt pointless, so I would just leave. Therefore, it was most encouraging for me to read that St. Therese of Lisieux also had a problem saying the Rosary. I wasn’t alone!! But when I discovered the Rosary on UA-cam, I was thrilled. I think that if St. Thérèse had such a resource, she would have been able to say it. Only 20 minutes, but the meditation is spoken - no rushing. I do not have a decent Rosary. I tried using the cheap ones i had but got so tangled up, I quit. It was a real distraction. Anyway, very happy to have UA-cam as a resource.
I pray the rosary on occasion sometimes in the strangest places and times, but it is certainly a powerful prayer, as I concentrate deeply on every word, but I haven't used the beads in years I just keep track of it all in my head, and I was wondering if it makes any difference If I say the prayers out loud or if saying the prayers in my mind was acceptable?
PART OF MY CONVERSION STORY (March 4, 22): THE ROSARY AND MERACLES I HAD, etc: Thank GOD for our LADY OF GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012. And I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her. †Also, when I prayed the Rosary to help me to quit cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time. †Truely, when I was inspired to pray few Rosaries in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer... And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for a few years in Stockholm searching for Truth, etc. †For now I have recently been diagnosed of "THYROID" DESEASE which made my life upside down. I'll continue praying & trusting really! †Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Masses weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet daily at 3:00pm. And I NEVER missed. †UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to daily readings is like my "daily bread"! Also, I like to what some one says: that after every winter comes spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God"(Psalm14: 1) Thank God for the ROSARY prayer, etc 🙏! ††By Saba Korial MIC, & I was born in Middle East, now Christian Catholic & Canadian. 2 Tm 2: 4 & 4: 7
I've had several rosaries in rosary pouch and the one thing that i never do is leave home without them. And truth to be told, I haven't been praying the rosary daily but in reality, I really should be. And plus, I have a nephew who knows very little about the the Catholic faith the rosary. And last year in September on his birthday, I got him his own rosary and I showed him and he was quite impressed with design. As his uncle, I have a moral obligation and that is to be a Catholic Christian role model for him. And the last thing I want him to be involved with and that is with people who don't believe in God such as Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. For now, he knows very little about atheism and as his uncle, I'm going to do whatever it takes to encourage him to believe in God and to become a Catholic Christian and help him pray the rosary. So that way he too can enter Heaven. As for you Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris, keep your atheistic beliefs to yourself. Don't let me catch you two trying to poison my nephew.
I became a Catholic after 40+ years as a Protestant for a few reasons, mostly the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and wishing to do what Jesus was asking of me. But while I am praying the Rosary daily at the moment (Father Mike Schmitz's pre Christmas challenge) I have to admit I find it difficult…..how to recite the same prayer over and over while trying to think of various parts of different mysteries….I just can’t think, let alone meditate! Help!
I want to do it more often, but I have difficulty memorizing each mystery and the day of the week for each set of mysteries. I wrote them down on a piece of paper, but I feel that having to consult it all the time really disturbs the meditative, mystical frame of mind that I need to be in. It feels like doing homework. So I often resort to the Jesus Prayer instead. Can anyone give me some tips on this regard? Or is memorizing the only way to do it? Thanks!
I prayed along with a podcast and without even realizing it, I had memorized it all. It’s repeating it correctly over and over that does the trick as opposed to struggling to recall. I used/use the podcast called “Together We Pray”. Hope this helps.
I often just pray the rosary 2 or 3 decades , deep prayer and concentrate deeply on every word, just allowing the prayers to enter my soul, and move through me, just turn the world off and completely submerse myself into it..... very powerful... I don't get hung up on the mysteries and days of the week and all that stuff... not knocking it... I just go deep into the prayers and let God do his thing....
I've been praying it for nearly 20 years and I still like to use a pamphlet so I can see the image of the mystery and read the scriptural verse that goes with it. As another commenter said, just keep praying it and it will become second nature. Blessings to you!
As a lifelong Protestant, the Rosary is one of the major things that has started to bring me home to the Catholic Church. I've never felt as connected to our Lord as I do when I'm praying the Rosary, nor have I ever felt as much peace. I try to do it every day, especially as I move toward conversion.

Welcome home!
God bless you. Come home.
Marko Miklić who told you about him?
Never understood the power of praying the Rosary...until it became a daily habit.
This really encourages me to start praying it daily
This must be fate. I ordered my first rosary just last night. Thank you Bishop Barron

@I Sanchez I ordered mine from Catholic Woodworker. I heard about them from Matt Fradd.

Whenever I’m down in the dumps or anxious the rosary is almost guaranteed to make me feel much better. Cannot recommend praying the rosary enough!

Thank you praise the lord im praying hard for us
In my youth I lived in Dublin and was part of what was called the Legion of Mart and for the 3 beads which we call he trinity we prayed the glory be to the father
and which we prayed at the end, in oth er words at the going out rather than going in to the Rosary---?
you are so right, dear Robert Barron (call Jesus by his name, not his title LOL so forgive me please!).
I pray that the Lord guides your life.
Jesus came to us through Mary so we have to go to HIM through Mary, it seems logical this way in my view. To Jesus Through Mary
I LOVE this profound explanation Bishop Barron, thank you💖
Thanks for this! St. Jacinta couldn't have said it better herself!
Thank you so much Bishop Barron.
Thanks to Mother Mary
Your Excellency Bishop Barron thanks for sharing your wisdom about the HOLY ROSARY. God bless you always! Praying for you. We Priests started our youtube channel to pray the HOLY ROSARY for promoting Vocations to the Priesthood, Religious life, Diaconate, Married life. For End of Pandemic. May the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary Be with us always! Amen...
Can't wait to receive the new book! 🙏
I would strongly recommend reading The Secret of the Holy Rosary by Saint Louis Marie Grignont de Montfort. He goes into deep detail of how important it is. And I'm finishing it at the moment.
I'll read
I love this! Thank you!
Let’s pray in high voice: God in Jesus name we ask there is peace in all around the world, especially in Ukraine. Amen.
God bless you!
Thank you!
My favorite prayers ❤️
Beautiful.
Thank you very much.
Amen.

Excellent break down and explanation
I wish he would say that it was the Blessed mother herself who told us to pray the rosary at Fatima
Fatima not real

I’ve noticed I sleep better when I pray the rosary before going to sleep.
what is the difference between praying the Rosary and meditating on a portion of Scripture?
I miss the old music" Tudun dun dun tudun dun dun."
Yes!!!
Thank you. Ran across this from you and your Word on Fire folk. Finally! Some words about the Rosary........why did you wait so long?
AMEN.
Look at rugged rosaries. They are battle ready and will last a lifetime.
God Bless you PJ. Offer your sufferings to God and persevere till the end.
I like to meditate the rosary with scripture verses before each Hail Mary and it helps me a lot to focus on each mystery with each Hail Mary.
As a Protestant Christian am I ok to pray using the Rosary? Still seeking Gods will for my walk with Him.
Absolutely not
Of course - our Blessed Mother encourages it :)
Honor thy mother, brother. Bless you!
Of course, you can! 🙏
If it helps you to grow closer to Jesus, pray away!
PART OF MY CONVERSION STORY (March 4, 22): THE ROSARY AND MERACLES I HAD, etc:
Thank GOD for our LADY OF GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec.
But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God"(Psalm14: 1)
Thank God for the ROSARY prayer, etc 🙏!

Help!
I pray the rosary everyday but why can't I feel there is changed in me. ☹️
I believe in what you say though.
It helps if you put the mysteries on podcast or UA-cam and pray along.
Just keep praying it along with a guide. With enough time, they'll become second nature!
