Funny you mentioned ice fishing. My 6 year old daughter asked me if we could go fishing on the ice in December, I told her it might be a bit longer than that to get safe ice here in southern Ontario. I guess that makes 3 of us that are keen for some hard water action!

I enjoy like fishing. Mainly because I don’t eat fish so I don’t care what they taste like. The thrill of them jumping out of the water at the bait. And then putting up big fights. It’s a riot. I need to catch a 40”+ though. My PB is only 38”
I've caught some nice gators of the white Hellhound. Such a great lure! It can also be trolled. One day trolling these baits in a shallow bay on a trout lake I had one of the best big pike days ever!
Definitely seems like fall is late coming this year. Same is happening here in Edmonton. The nice weather is holding on! I have some GREAT spots I'd like to take you pike fishing up on Great Slave Lake!!

I notice you’re using the same rod you use for jigging trout. Are you swapping reels for different line weights or use the same line for both trout and pike?
Was on lake of the woods here in Minnesota and caught a beautiful pike! 40 inches and I was ice fishing. Was eating and my rattle real went off and then just started taking line like crazy. Was fun pulling him in by hand. He shook the hook coming up the hole so I said fuck it and grabbed him by the mouth and pulled him up. He tore up my hand lol. But I didn’t feel it because my adrenaline was sky high. Best pike I’ve ever caught!

Look into some narcan glide baits... alot like the hellhounds, they are used primarily for muskies... they are my fav glide

Have you ever used a Williams Wabler? It’s my top bait for big pike. Either lg or xl in hammered gold/silver. Also get lots of big walleye on them.
Are you watching the line to see it twitch, or are you feeling the bite ? I guess pike usually hammer it.

The Hellhound is a good summer muskie bait as well if your ever looking for something other than the classic baits
One of the best big pike days I ever had was trolling the Whitefish Hellhound on a lake trout lake. It makes for a good trolling bait 😉

I usually try to measure the biggest ones. I am pretty accurate with size guess too :)

I live in michigan had a place were the average size of the pike I caught was 35 I think my smallest was 32 and biggest was 42

Hmmmm with two guys fishing in the boat I would say an average day yes.
