  • Sudden 3 day weekend opportunity happened and I found out rideroyalblue.com/ was open so I hastily shot down to take advantage of time and do a 'pathfinder' mission for when I return with friends. Didn't take many(too many) risks since I was by myself but there was, as always, plenty of other riders if I would have needed a hand somewhere. I wanted to explore Tackett Creek territory since its new to me and just stayed in RoyalBlue as a place to park really. HUGE thanks to lifetimetrailmaps.net/index.html, was great to find points of interest and the trails were spot on! Trip turned into a waterfall tour which never disappoints. My 2017 RZR 1000xp had zero issues and just killed it.

    I really enjoyed you video. We are coming down and staying at Eagle Rock end of June. Its going to be our first time at RB. We have done Windrock and Brimstone already. Saw in other comment you are from Eastern PA so are we, Lehigh Valley area. I sent my BF your video and said if you can do tackett by yourself we could also check it out. We will have 3 machines with us. Thanks for the great video!

      Thank you so much!! We are practically neighbors, I’m just outside Oley Valley in Berks county! And if you get to Tackett and do only one thing, goto the Sand Cave, it’s worth the trip all by itself! The size group you gonna have is perfect! RB is great, even better if it’s muddy! There is plenty to do and I think Eagle Rock is best spot to start!! Enjoy yourselves and have a blast!!!!

      @@wildstar365 yea we ride Aoaa alot here. Told my BF that I would like to go see the cabin , slate rock, and the sand cave waterfall. We have lifetime trail maps to guide us around but would you know best route to get to tackett from camp?

      That is the same maps I used to find everything there, works great! The best route I remember is out of Eaglerock I think it is trail number two of royal blue and you look on the map you just follow a marked route that will take you down some blacktop, maybe 3 miles, gets to Tackett Creek area and it is not hard!

      However you want to, get to Royal Blue trail #25, that will take you to Duff Road, take Duff to Davis Road(these are blacktop maybe 4miles worth?) and parking for Tackett area will be on your right, if you’re riding machines to Tackett just enter here! It’s not bad at all to get there!

      Riding solo is a double edged sword...it allows for endless exploring without others getting frustrated you stop so often, but if you break down or something it can be less than desirable!! lol thanks for the comment! Where you hail from ??

    did you drive your polaris all the way from royal blue to tackett creek? and if so what route did you take

    • @wildstar365
      @wildstar365  3 роки тому +4

      I did drive the RZR from Royal Blue to Tackett, it’s a legal route too, the road part is ATV approved(abt 3-5miles I think) I use the Lifetime Trail Maps app (
      lifetimetrailmaps.net/index.html )
      It has all the waterfalls listed on it and the route to Tackett is easy to see. I don’t remember the road or trail names in order but if you do want them I can look into it and give ya the info!! I live in Pennsylvania so although it would be my pleasure to give ya a tour I won’t be down there when you’re gonna be! There are no wrong turns in that state on these trails, they are all great!!!

    Would a can am defender crew xmr be able to navigate those trails?

    • @wildstar365
      @wildstar365  4 роки тому +1

      Stephen, I saw a group in Kawasaki Teryx 4seaters with children in child seats climb down and back up from Sand Cave. I’m no expert on Defender specs but I’d bet no problem 👍🏻. I would not attempt Hells Canyon tho but could definitely go till the rock climb starts(past Hangover Rock) and there is a bypass trail to the first section of Hell’s Canyon that’s tight but very doable and not dangerous if ya wanted to get a great view! I’d say 70% of all trails at Tackett the Defender have no trouble.

      I’ve only ever been there twice. Me and some friends have plans to return this fall again. I’m from Eastern PA so it’s a 10hr tow down...gotta have at least 3 day wknd to make it worth the drive, but it is worth it.

    Nice video. You are not supposed to riding up into any cemeteries, park and walk only. There are signs stating such.

    • @wildstar365
      @wildstar365  3 роки тому

      Thank you and agreed I would not drive on top the actual plots of a cemetery. Here the trail itself ran right thru and around outside of cemeteries. If there is not a trail/road goin to them the only respectful way to visit a cemetery is to park and walk. I find it very interesting to stop and read tombstones at old cemeteries, it’s great history.

      @@wildstar365 No offense but I have been riding those trails for many years and that is not a trail for riders only people like family members. It is not part of the riding area at all and has always been well signed but someone may have been torn it down and then people started going up there. It is a cool spot to see for sure.

    What trail is that cabin on?

    • @wildstar365
      @wildstar365  3 роки тому +1

      It’s literally called the Tackett Cabin. It’s on a Main trail but I find no name on actual trail, it’s right between the Slate Rock hill climb and entrance trail down to Sand Cave. It’s a very travelled trail, nothing difficult to get to, a Subaru could get there easily. The Cabin is open to all to be used if ya wish I’m told....lots of visitors tho cause everyone stops by and hangs ! Really cool place
