Sean as someone who dropped 27 kilos and has kept it off for 15 years. My advice is to make a lifestyle change, not diet change. Cut our morning and afternoon tea and only eat when you’re hungry. I no longer eat lunch, only breaky and dinner. I do yoga which has helped immensely with back and neck pain and go for daily walks. Good luck!

I absolutely agree, a cup of tea and a biscuit with a friend should be enjoyed and not feel like a dieting failure. Keeping the day to day healthy is key, eat when hungry. Congratulations on maintaining weight loss all these years 😊

I lost 40 pounds so far. I’m diabetic and it was out of control. I just changed eating habits. I try and keep to a low carb diet.I eat when I’m hungry, usually breakfast and supper. And a snack in the evening. My diabetes is under control,in fact my A1c is 5.7. My blood pressure is low again. It didn’t happen overnight. My Dr advised a loss of two or three pounds a week. Some weeks there was no change,I just trudged along. You can do it! And you have a great area to walk in.

Hi Sean, I found that completely cutting out bread, potatoes, pasta and rice, avoiding anything ‘low fat’ (usually full of sugar) and basically eating as I did as a child, full-fat everything! - fat melted off and lost a stone in 4 weeks. Couldn’t believe it, at one point it was 1lb a day. Husband was the same. It wasn’t a long term thing but certainly helped me kickstart weight loss and re-educate myself, now cooking from scratch mainly now and avoiding starchy carbs. Appreciate it may not be for everyone but hope it helps.

After watching a Welshman unpack his grocery the next best thing is him opening his parcel haul. I’m pleased to hear that you popped in to spend time with community. It is so important to make the effort to invest in new and old friends. Take care. 🇦🇺

It's Boxing Day evening and I'm feeling a bit cheesed off (as my husband passed away on Boxing Day) not the best day of the year. I've been binge watching when you first moved, even though I've seen them as been following you and you know Sean it's really cheered me up !! Thanks Pal 😊 x

My diets usually involve only eating when I'm hungry. We're so programmed to eating at certain times, when most of the time we're not even hungry anyway!

In my experience gas is far cheaper than electric, we have an electric fire with a living flame, we only use the fire for the living flame to add a bit of atmosphere in the lounge. For hot water and heating we use the central heating via a Combi boiler controlled via the hive. If you want to save money on electric for cooking invest in an air fryer.
My breakfast consists of two large shredded wheat, table spoon of sugar and semi skimmed milk, plus mug of tea (Yorkshire). Lunch is a sandwich of buttered Nimble Danish malted bread, choice of fillings ham, chicken, beef, egg, cheese plus sliced tomato or cucumber and salad cream spread, or banana sandwich, packet plain crisps plus mug of tea. Mid afternoon mug of tea plus cake of some sort. Then in the evening home cooked dinner, normally consisting of meat & two or three veg, some times roasted plus another mug of tea. Before bed couple of slices of toast plus final mug of tea. I am 84 in 3 days and my weight very rarely goes above 12 stone. Think you need to eat regularly but with portion control.

The cardboard boxes work good in the veggy garden to keep the weeds down between the rows and the worms love it...I put bark mulch over the cardboard and it makes clean walkjng without mud...the cardboard eventually breaks down again...but the tape is a bugger it does not decompose. I would sugest taking the time to peel it off and the staples out too. Love your videos thanks.

Weight loss doing low carb or Keto, whichever is more sustainable for your personal needs. It reversed my Type 2 Diabetes & have lost a significant amount of weight. It's a lifestyle, not a diet, whch is the best way for me to keep it going. Severely restricted diets set one up for failure. This is what worked for me & countless others. Whatever you do, I wish you every success 🌷

Hello Sean , what helps me lose weight is eating lots of veg and most important walking 1 hour a day . I hate all sports but love walking ...Restricted diets are difficult to sustain and one gets discouraged pretty fast I’d say ...

wanted to say too: don't do 'diets' but eat mostly vegetables, You can eat eggs, meat, dairy, whatever you like, but only a little bit of it. And walking, as you already do. And gardening 😊

The main aid to losing weight is to cut out processed foods, full of hidden sugar. I have taken to carnivore one meal a day naturally having progressed through vegetarian, keto, with fish and to full carnivore. My OH is still vegetarian with carbs, but we get along! He is now making his own bread but still has a weakness for biscuits and egg custard tarts!

I think you're right Waitrose food is superior and some things therefore are a little more expensive, but I have found some things cheaper overall I think the quality is better and its the old adage you get what you pay for. The foods from any shop has sell by dates so if you're shopping weekly monthly some things should go straight into freezer otherwise you end up eating too much to get it used up and that makes your food expensive. I love air fryers and have saved a fortune not putting on the big oven for every little thing. When I do use the big oven I make sure its full. Two meals a day is enough something like brunch and dinner.

Sean, I forgot to mention that a doctor told me years ago, to have your last meal or food intake 3 hours before retiring to bed. First, what you have eaten will be digested and less chance if it turning into fat and your body will get more rest. It also helps with sleep apnea.

Hi Sean, A trick I use to keep my weight in check is that I don’t eat off of dinner plates but on sandwich/salad size plates. This way I don’t overload on the portions and it fools my mind that I’m eating a “full” plate of food. For me, it is the quantity of food intake that I keep in mind. I also have a regiment of walking 2-3 miles everyday. On another note , I’m interested in knowing if where you live there is access to antique shops or second hand furniture stores. I find buying antiques and well made furniture is not only less expensive but it will last a life time. I was thinking a Welsh cupboard would be lovely for your living room area! BTW, I love the green chair! Have a wonderful day and give the fur babies a kiss for me!

Hi Sean, imho gas is a much cheaper way of heating. If you are going to turn off the central heating it might be a good idea to check on your contract incase there is a minimum temperature that you have to keep. I'm thinking of cold weather frost and ice and the potential for burst pipes. Love the heater that you have brought, very cosy. Sally

Deae Sean I am at 75 at the weight i wanted to be for many years. My doctor told me that if I continue the way I'm going that I will have a stroke within the next 10 years. I did not want to add blood thinner to my already established menue of medications. Asking my doctor how I can chane my condition she said that I needed to change my diet and lose about 40 to 50 lbs. Well I looked on line on how to chane at 68 the way I live - I found intermitten fasting and gave it a try - anything is tough but if you give it about 3 weeks, you should be ok - by age 70 I have lost 70 lbs and have no desire to go back to where I was. I also stay active - It can be done 👍and it is a life style

Today's breakfast for me was hash brown potatoes, egg, chicken breast, spinach. In proportions that amount to 250 calories, 34grams protein. Really a good one I have frequently but always made by careful weights and measures.
Amazon! What a friend. Always almost there when you need them, haha. I do like that they update, even if it's somewhat maddening at times.
The lack of bubbles is likely variation in water hardness between London and Wales. You can hardly get a bubble from hard water. Something you might look into or attempt to remedy with a water softening system or powder.

You cut up a variety: potatoes, squash, beets, carrots, zucchini, etc. Meat of choice cut up , saute the meat first, toss veggies in olive oil and seasonings of choice add the meat and bake 35 min thereabouts at 400 F. Also turmeric milk at bedtime is supposed to provide health benefits as well. So many recipes on line. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦

Hi Sean. Try reversing the cushion and the hard board. You should be sitting on the cushion.

For diet I highly recommend the book “Finding Ultra” by Rich Roll. It talks about the relationship between diet, exercise, and weight loss.

Hi Sean, gas is cheaper than electricity in the UK. It might be cheaper for you to only heat the rooms you are in, but beyond a few rooms, the gas central heating will be cheaper.

Must be something wrong because it says £15 electric and £95 gas.

Hi Sean, sicking out the tongue and moving it side to side in concentration was something my Dad used to do! I can picture in my mind him doing it whilst reversing the car out of the garage!! I too have 2 carousels of slides that we were thinking of sending away to be dealt with but your new device seems easy enough for us to master. Neither of us finds new technology easy to deal with and instruction manuals are a nightmare. Good luck with your healthy eating because at the end of the day it's not really a diet, it's how you should strive to eat all the time .

I find staying away from processed foods is helpful. I eat whatever I want but I rarely eat as much as I want. I’m getting close to retirement age so I gain and lose easier than I used to. My weight varies from being 4 lbs under to 4 lbs over my ideal weight. It helps me to have a target- then I know whether or not to eat more or less. After supper eating can be my downfall if my weight is a little too high. I can’t give up bread, potatoes, etc. I like everything so denying certain food groups does not work for me. I am an equal opportunity eater!

I watch some simple living/slow living videos. What I have realized is that you are showing how to live in the moment, to take it easy. You don't have to say it, you just do it. I need to start practing this. The pasties look delicious.
